What if the veil between this world and the next was thinner than we think?
Mark Anthony approaches the question of life after death not with mere belief, but with a conviction he holds as “one thousand percent” certain. His assurance isn’t rooted in faith alone; it’s cultivated from a lifetime immersed in the realm of spirit communication. Growing up in a household where both his parents were mediums, the thin veil between worlds was a familiar presence. This personal experience, coupled with a near-death encounter, witnessing phenomena at the time of passing, and collaborations with scientists at institutions studying the survival of consciousness, forms the bedrock of his certainty.
Anthony’s upbringing provided a unique lens through which to view reality. His family history reveals a fascinating lineage of psychic abilities on both his father’s side, with its conservative Baptist roots intertwined with spirit-sensitive individuals, and his mother’s Italian Catholic heritage, rich with gifted mediums. This wasn’t a casual interest but a deeply ingrained family trait. While his mother openly acknowledged these abilities, his father’s perspective was shaded by a past experience that instilled caution. This contrasting dynamic in his formative years laid the groundwork for Anthony’s eventual and compelling journey into the professional practice of mediumship, a path that uniquely blends the analytical mind of a lawyer with an intimate understanding of the spiritual world. Are you 100% certain there’s life after death? If so, how do you know?
Mark Anthony: I’m one thousand percent certain, and the reason for that, David, is because I communicate with the afterlife on a daily basis. I grew up in a family where both my parents had the ability to perceive spirits. I’ve had a near-death experience. I’ve been there when people have died, and I’ve seen a light come out of their body, and I was not the only one to see it.
Also, I work with scientists at the University of Arizona and the Division of Perceptual Studies the University of Virginia, plus scientists in the United Kingdom that are actually studying survival of consciousness.
So, from a personal experiential background, from being a practicing medium and communicating with spirits, and from a scientific basis, I have absolutely no doubt there is life after death.
You’ve said your parents were both mediums. What was your upbringing like, and how did it shape you?
Mark Anthony: I’ve tracked the mediumistic and psychic abilities on both sides of my family back into the 1890s. My dad’s side of the family was very conservative Pennsylvania Baptist. In fact, my great-great-grandfather was a Baptist minister who founded the Baptist Church in this small town in Pennsylvania, and I was honored to get to visit it with my dad a couple of years before he passed.
My father had four siblings, three sisters and a brother, and one of his sisters, Marjorie, like him, was able to see spirits, as was their mother, Isabel, and their maternal grandmother, Grace. My dad was one of the original US Navy SEALs, and so he was a real no-nonsense kind of guy, and he became a NASA engineer after the military.
My mother’s family hailed from the North Jersey, New York City area. They had emigrated from Italy. They were Italian Catholics, and my mother, and particularly her grandmother, my maternal great-grandmother, Giovanna, were very gifted psychic mediums.
In fact, in 2016, PBS did a special called “The Italian Americans”. It was a two-night special, and they did an entire segment on Giovanna, my maternal great-grandmother, and actually referenced her psychic abilities. And it was so cool because on every commercial break, my phone was ringing. It was one of my cousins asking “Did you see that?” We called her Big Nana, because in Italian, Noni, or anglicized Noni, is grandfather, and Nona, was anglicized as Nana. She called “Big Nana” since she was the matriarch of the family, and she was an amazing, amazing person.
Catholic Church officials used to meet with her to confer with her about spirituality, and when young nuns would come from Italy, she would house them and help them feel comfortable before they were assigned to convents.
My dad was at a USO dance after he got out of the Navy. Dad was a “full of himself”, 23-year-old sailor, and he said, “I spotted this foxy looking dame.” He thought she was 27 or 28 years old. Actually my mom was only 19 but she looked older as she was decked out in the latest fashion styles. The reason for that is she worked in fashion for a high-end department store, and mom said she got all the designer clothes wholesale. So, she would go out dancing. And both my parents were really wonderful ballroom dancers and they hit it off. Being a good dancer is a trait I didn’t inherit.
And then they met at another couple of dances. She’s a good Italian Catholic girl, so she had to be chaperoned. On the third date, she said to my dad, his name was Earl, her name was Jean, but everyone called her Jeannie. She said, “There’s something about me you need to know. I see spirits.” My dad replied as only a sailor could, with a number of colorful metaphors followed by, “I do, too.”
So, studying psychic phenomenon and mediumship from a scientific basis, it appears to have a genetic origin and that’s what you’ll see with a lot of mediums like myself and some of my colleagues. It seems to run in families. It’s what’s known as a recessive genetic trait; in other words, it skips a generation or two.
For example, on both sides of my family, most people have brown hair and brown eyes, and we’re right-handed. Those are all genetic traits, but every now and then someone pops up who’s blonde hair and blue dyed. That’s a recessive trait. It can skip a generation. It’s the same with intellectual, physical and abilities, and in our family or my family, mediumship, psychic ability, is one of those traits.
So, when you have two parents with that same trait, it just explodes. I mean, the possibility of one of the children having that increases exponentially. That child turned out to be me.

When did you first realize you had mediumship abilities, and did your parents encourage them?
Mark Anthony: I remember I was only about three and a half years old, and I was interacting with invisible friends, which is not unusual for a toddler to do, until I realized my parents could see who I was talking to. And mom, I’ll never forget, she goes, “Oh, he’s got it.” And dad’s response was, “Oh, geez, he’s got it.” And so they had very different reactions to it. And my mom would speak openly about her abilities, so growing up in the neighborhood, people knew that my family was different.
Looking back on it now, we were kind of like the Addams family. We were weird, but kind of cool weird. We threw great Halloween and Christmas parties, and my mother’s dining room table was open to everybody. I remember in her later years, when she was getting a new dining room table and we were taking the old one out, she said it just astounds me to think how many people sat at this table. That was a really, really touching moment.
But my father did not want me talking about my abilities and what had happened when I was five years old, I was about to start Catholic school, I was going into first grade and my dad sat me down and says don’t tell anyone about this except your mother and I. Don’t talk to anyone about it. And he goes, people who talk about things and see things that other people don’t, they get taken away.
This terrified me, and he could see I was shaking. My mother was like, “Earl, don’t scare him.” And I remember he held me. My dad was a tough guy, but very affectionate. He was a very, very good father, and he said, “I’m not trying to scare you; I’m trying to protect you.”
Well, I found out later why. His sister, Marjorie, whom I never met in this life, comes to me quite often. She had married this man, who was a religious extremist. He was beyond fundamentalist; he was basically a fanatic, and he didn’t like her abilities. He was very Book of Deuteronomy. This is evil. Mediums are not of God.
And he was a machinist. He worked at the steel plant in Pennsylvania, and one day he was getting ready to go to work, and my aunt, Marjorie, started getting these terrible pains in the pit of her stomach, near the solar plexus. That’s one of the receptor areas, and she said something terrible is going to happen. You can’t go to work. And he got into a big fight and an argument with her, and said you and that voodoo stuff. And she begged him to stay home, and he did.
Well, later that day, a crane was lifting thousands of pounds of steel beams, and the cable snapped, and the beams fell and crushed the machine shop that he worked in and killed everyone in it. So, you would think he would be at least grateful that she saved his life, but instead, it intensified his fear of her abilities.
And so what he did is he conspired with a psychiatrist at a state mental hospital who diagnosed her as a paranoid schizophrenic, who hallucinated. An ambulance came to their house, guys in white coats came, put her in a straight jacket and forcibly took her to the mental institution and over a period of six months she was subjected to electroshock therapy and this is back in the 50s and it did so much damage to her brain that Marjorie never talked about seeing spirits again.
The thing is, I never met my Aunt Marjorie in this world, and I didn’t know any of this. When I was a child, I kept wondering, you know, why was dad so paranoid about people finding out about this?
When I discovered the truth about what had happened to Aunt Marjorie, she started coming to me. In fact, whenever there’s a dangerous situation, Marjorie comes to me and helps me out of it. It’s really quite amazing.
David, there’s a sense of justice here too, because Marjorie was such a gifted and talented medium, yet she lived in a time where it was considered mental illness and she was persecuted like we have been for centuries. People today in Middle Eastern countries, are actually put to death for sorcery for things like this. The spirit of my Aunt Marjorie seems elated that I’m able to do what she was never allowed to.
How did you go from studying law to exploring mediumship?
Mark Anthony: I was considering going into the clergy. I know that you have a background as a pastor, as a minister, and that’s not unusual for mediums and spiritually oriented people. But I started seeing there were too many rules and regulations, and I’d be too confined. I liked public speaking, working with people, researching, and writing, and I felt guided to go into the law.
People feel that law and mediumship are about as diametrically opposed as they can be. The way I look at it is both jobs require evidence and both jobs are about helping people. Certainly, attorneys need to have credible evidence to substantiate their case. Likewise, a medium must present credible pieces of information and evidence which are transmitted from the spirit to me, that I convey to the client, things I can’t possibly know. And so, both jobs revolve on evidence, helping people.
Look, I know what the general public’s attitude towards attorneys is. I mean, I get it. People tend to be hostile toward attorneys. But you have to ask yourself, why is that? Well, why do people go to attorneys? It’s when they’re getting sued, when they’ve been arrested, or when there’s a dispute. People come to attorneys generally when things are not good, outside of doing an adoption or getting your will done, generally, visiting an attorney is not because you’re in a happy state.
And what do mediums do? Legitimate mediums facilitate communication between people in our world and their loved ones in spirit. Through verifiable facts and pieces of information, we help them understand the person they loved so much didn’t disintegrate but lives on as an immortal living spirit, and I believe that this is very comforting.
What Jesus and every great spiritual teacher from the dawn of recorded history has taught which is enshrined in every belief system is that the soul, the consciousness, the spirit, pre-exists the body comes into the body and then moves on after our body ceases to function.

When did you shift from being a trial attorney to focusing on mediumship full-time?
Mark Anthony: In the practice of law, I had a reputation for knowing things that I shouldn’t know, and it would come out a lot in jury selection. I have the ability to discern things about people and I would know things about prospective jurors and witnesses that I had no reason to know. So, other attorneys would say “watch out for this guy.” But I try to be nice to everybody because that’s my nature. I was a senior partner of my own firm, and so, I was the head of a law firm. I had three secretaries and a receptionist, so was a very busy attorney and had a lot of responsibility.
One day, I was at my office, and my mom called and she said, “Hey, honey, do you want to come over for lunch?” And I thought, well, that would be nice. My parents’ house was about five miles from my office. So, I went and I had a beautiful lunch. I remember my mom made spaghetti with broccoli rabe. It was a real Italian dish, and I could see that she looked tired that day, but we had such a wonderful time, and I had to go back to work, and my mother said I want to talk to you for a minute. She hugged me and kissed me and said, “I love you so much, I’m so happy you’ve been my son.” And I said, “Well, I love you, too, Mom”. We always said “I love you” to each other, but that day it was somehow different; it seemed so final.
The next day, I was in court, and the judge’s secretary came into the courtroom. I was waiting for my turn to go before the judge, and she said, “Mark, we need you in chambers, right now.” And I walk in and she hands me the phone, and one of my secretaries on the phone, she was crying, and she said, “Your dad called, your mom died.”
Reflecting on this it was clear Mom knew that her time was running out. I found out later that after I left from lunch that day my mom also called my sister and brother and had similar conversations with them.
Mom passed from what’s known as a ventricular fibrillation, that is when the electrical system in your heart gives out. So she had a peaceful passing.
I nose-dived into depression, and I think everybody who’s listening to this program, when you’ve lost a loved one, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You’re in shock. You’re kind of going through this, “I can’t believe it!” There’s shock and then there’s trauma. Then, as the shock begins to fade, the trauma sets in and, believe me, that’s what we have to live with.
So, about two weeks later, I’m driving back to my office from court, and all of a sudden, this wave of grief hits me, and I thought, okay, there is no way I can walk into the office in tears. So, I pull over into this parking lot of this convenience store, and I’m kind of away from everybody. I needed to pause and get my act together. And I’m sitting there alone in my car, and all of a sudden this flash of light fills my car and I turn to the passenger side, and for a split second I see my mother’s silhouette in this silver white light. So, I’m like, okay, I’ve been seeing spirits my whole life, but this was really intense.
All of a sudden, her voice fills my head, and she says, “Mark, you’ve been given the gift of mediumship so that you would not be crushed by grief, but now you must help those who are suffering with theirs.” And I’m trying to process this. And then another message comes through in her voice and she said “Mark, it is your life’s mission to help people understand that the divine power you call God exists, that heaven, the afterlife exists, that souls are immortal living beings, that humans can communicate with souls, and that we will all be reunited when it is your appointed time to leave your world and come into the light, you call God.”
All right, David, I’m soaking wet, I am just perspiring, and I sink back into my seat, and the only thing that could come out of my mouth is, “okay.” My next thought was that I can’t tell anyone this. They’re going to think I’m insane.
But then my fear subsided, and I realized nothing in my life was ever going to be the same; that this was one of those major, spiritually transformative experiences. I hear about people, Oh, I was on a mountaintop and this beam of light and blah, blah, blah. No, no, this was not, no, mine was like a fire hose right to the face. And then I’m thinking, well, yeah, at 7-Eleven.
My major life changing event was outside a convenience store…you know it’s like, “Is that to go, or shall we administer your spiritual experience?” But then a chain of events started happening. Not long after that, I was offered a job at a government agency and normally I would have said no, but I realized I needed to get out of the practice of law because I was working on my book Never Letting Go, my first book. I took this job and then I brought Rocky on.
You met my manager Rocky who was with me recently in Sedona. So, my book Never Letting Go, had just come out and she booked me at a gig at MSNBC in New York City. It was cool because we’re in the studio next to where they’re filming Saturday Night Live and there I am filming a segment for TV. And then she booked me to speak at Harvard.
We had to leave New York City and then go up to Boston and it was about two weeks before Christmas and I remember we’re holding these steaming cups of coffee and we’re literally surrounded by red brick walls and ivy and all of a sudden my cell phone rings and it’s the elected official. He started complaining that I was taking too much time off from work. Then he said “The Republican party is up in arms that I have a psychic on staff.” So, I said, “Sir, let me make this very simple for you.” He asked, “How so?” I said, “Please, consider this my resignation effective immediately.” And he said, “Okay.”
And then I hung up the phone, and I looked at Rocky, and I said, “Rocky, I just quit the practice of law.” And she said to me, “Mark, take a look around. Where are you?” I said, “Harvard.” She goes, “And what are you doing in an hour?” I said, “Well, lecturing about life after death and signing copies of my new book, Never Letting Go.” And she said, “Don’t you think you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be?” That, David, is how I left the practice of law.

Why do you think people are afraid of interdimensional communication?
Mark Anthony: For several reasons, first off, it is a normal human trait to fear the unknown. People, if they don’t understand something or they can’t explain it, it’s the unknown.
Then there are organized religions, including Christianity, Islam, and texts like the book of Deuteronomy and Leviticus. Hinduism and Buddhism are cool about it because what we call psychic experiences are expected events in a Hindu spiritual journey. So, I have to give a Namaste to our Hindu brothers and sisters and our Buddhist brothers and sisters.
But there’s this stigma that mediums are not of God and that this is evil. One of the big passages is Deuteronomy 18, verses 10 through 12, which says don’t consult with people who communicate with the dead. But being a psychic lawyer, one must examine the entire document before rendering judgment.
Looking at Deuteronomy 18, go to line 22, and there it says, “How do we know if a prophet does not speak the word of the Lord?” Now, in the Bible, mediums are referred to as prophets if you’re a male and a prophetess if you’re a female. And it says that if what the prophet says does not come true, it is not the word of the Lord, which means that if what the prophet says does come true, then it is the word of the Lord. So the question I pose to my religious friends is, does Deuteronomy ban mediumship, or does it set truth as the standard for it?
Then let’s fast-forward to the New Testament, to the first book of Corinthians, chapter 12, verses 4 through 12. In Corinthians, it lists gifts God gives to all of us, two of which are prophecy and discernment of spirits, and one, in the same spirit, offers these to everyone.
In other words, we all have differing abilities and gifts, and God gives the gift of prophecy, which is foreseeing, foretelling future events, and discernment of spirits, which is interdimensional communication. So I mean, I have friends that are in the clergy that are mediums, and they’ve come to me going hey, can you give me those passages? One of them is a Catholic priest, and he was summoned before the bishop and his staff, and they wanted to find out, what exactly was he doing as a medium? One staff member accused him of necromancy, raising the dead, and he explained he wasn’t raising the dead, but merely communicating with another frequency.
So, the thing is because of the spiritual nature because we’re dealing with communicating with people who’ve died, a lot of people don’t understand it, refuse to believe it, and death scares the heck out of everybody, and so that’s why it’s shrouded in fear and mysticism, and the work that I do, both as a medium and as a researcher, is to get that fear out of the way and start bringing in quantum physics to explain that there is life after death and it’s nothing to be afraid of.
What are the benefits of getting a reading from a medium?
Mark Anthony: Peace, love, understanding, resolution. Nothing spiritual is controlling or negative. Messages from spirits are never about anger, bigotry, hatred, or violence. Sadly, a lot of terrorists claim God, Allah, or whatever crazy warped way they’ve twisted their belief system has told them to resort to inflicting death and destruction. What they’re doing is hijacking the pretense of faith as a moral justification for their own ego driven hateful agenda. This has nothing to do with God.
I like to quote Mother Teresa, who is now St. Theresa of Calcutta, “How can any war be holy?”
So, when people say a spirit told me to wage war, to kill somebody, to be angry, to be violent, they’re not communicating with God. What they’re communicating with is their ego, and the ego is created by the brain, which is an organ in our head. The brain also houses the spirit, much the way a computer hard drive houses the programs that are on it.
The ego and I also like to refer to that as Edging God Out. Think about it whenever anyone does something negative, it’s all “me, me, me”. You’re thinking of me as the center of the universe, to the exclusion of everyone else, whereas spiritual messages are love-based, and that’s why no spiritual messages are about anger, bigotry, hatred, and violence.
Spirit communication and I study evidential mediumship and I’ve developed my technique which I explain in my book, The Afterlife Frequency and in Evidence of Eternity, my second book, and it is about facilitating communication between somebody here and their loved ones and spirits.
Think of it like a triangle, and the other side, the spirits, are at the top of the triangle, I’m at one end, on the bottom, and the client is at the other end. So, there’s a three-way flow. Spirits transmit information to me, I describe it to the client, the client’s able to verify it or, if they’re not sure, they make a note of it. All three parties are there, and by bringing forth pieces of information that I can’t possibly know, it’s like, well, how do you know that? And what’s really cool is when I get information that the person I’m doing the reading for didn’t know.
I was doing a reading for this gentleman, and I started describing this guy that was on the grandparent level but not a grandparent, and I described the military, the branch he was in. He was a pilot. I described what he looked like when he died. I got a name. He didn’t know anything about that.
And then he got back with me about a week later, and he said, “I was talking to my grandmother, and she said that was her brother, who was a pilot, shot down in World War II, and killed, and he goes.” I didn’t know any of this. So, people say, “Oh, you’re reading their mind.” Well, how can I read something that’s not in that person’s mind? I’ve got several examples of that.
Religions serve a useful and beautiful purpose, as long as people follow the teachings of the religions, which are about peace, love, and understanding. Religions aren’t about sending people to war and hating people.
But religions are also a business, and they want exclusive control over your connection to God, which you can only get to through our dogma, our clerics, and, by the way, give 10% of your income. And at the risk of sounding facetious, show me a religion that essentially doesn’t do that.
And if you believe and need to be part of a religion, absolutely do that until it starts telling you to hurt other people. Then, it’s no longer about God, it’s about ego. So, I don’t mean to get on my soapbox, but I see people in spirit, and I pray. I believe in God and I think that prayer is when we speak to God, meditation is when we listen to God.
What people need to understand with prayer, God isn’t Santa Claus, sitting there with your list filled with “I want, I want, I want,” because that’s more ego. We all need to understand that sometimes the answer to our prayer is no.

Can you briefly explain your RAFT technique from The Afterlife Frequency?
Mark Anthony: I’m smiling because the RAFT technique, the way it came to me it was just literally a gift. So here I was, I’m in my office, where I’m right now, and I was working on the Afterlife Frequency, and I was wondering how do I explain to people who aren’t necessarily mediums how to receive messages? And I hit that dreaded writer’s block.
One thing I’ve learned about writer’s block is when it happens, walk away. If you sit there and try to force yourself, it never happens. I live near the beach on the barrier island of East Coast Central Florida.
I figured, let me go for a walk on the beach. That always seems to help. So I’m walking down the driveway, and all of a sudden, I start feeling pulled in another direction, and I’m like, okay, and there’s this bike path near my house. So I thought, well, I’ll take a walk on the bike path. It’s around 11 in the morning, nobody’s on the bike path, and it’s really sunny.
All of a sudden, I see these two shining objects, and I walk up to them, and it’s a nickel and a penny. And I bend over to pick them up, and I hear my parents who have since passed, and I hear my mom’s voice, “If they are head’s down, it’s bad luck.” And I start laughing because that’s the Italian side of the family. They have a superstition for every occasion. I’m laughing because then I hear my dad’s voice saying, “It’s money, grab it.” So, I’m cracking up and I’m holding this nickel and this penny in my hand and I go, oh, six cents. Then, I realized this was a sign, six cents meant “sixth sense!” All of a sudden, cold chills and tingling started coming all over my body.
It’s another reason people think spirit communication is scary, because spirits are pure electromagnetic energy. And when spirits connect with you, it’s the same physiological response as fight or flight, which is associated with fear. And when you work with this for a while, you know it’s not anything to be afraid of. And all of a sudden, in my mind’s eye, I saw a vision of my dad. He was a US Navy SEAL, but when I was a little kid, he was also a swimming instructor at the YMCA. He taught tons of kids how to swim, and I saw him, and he was holding this blue canvas raft, and it had these yellow bumpers on it. When I was a little kid, we used to ride waves on it.
And then all of a sudden, I hear my parents’ voices in unison, “Teach people how to recognize signs from spirit”, accept the contact is real, feel it without overthinking, trust the message, and I’m like R-A-F-T. Raft, oh my God!
So I ran home, and writer’s block was gone, and the words just flew. Now, thank you, Mom and Dad. It was a beautiful message, but they actually walked me through the RAFT technique and how people can experience it.
People will have their attention drawn to something, like a dragonfly or a coin, or they’ll look at a clock, and there’s always a particular time, which is like a date, something significant. Or they’ll find something, maybe a feather or a light will blink, and they immediately think of that person.
Well, this is not a random occurrence. This is spiritual synchronicity and a frequency beacon where spirits are directing your attention to particular things. So, you have to recognize the signs from the spirit. It may come in the dream state, it may be a voice you hear, and you have to realize that the contact is real.
Okay, so far, so good. But it’s the third step, feel without overthinking. Now here’s where people torpedo it. Oh, that’s just my imagination. I just want it to be that way. Oh, come on, that’s impossible. No, no, no, that’s where people kill it. Okay, because you start to hyper analyze. When you hyper analyze and overthink, you create an energetic block. You’ll lose the message.
But once you start feeling the message and let it resonate through you, then trust it. The RAFT technique can work for anybody. Not everyone’s a medium or a psychic, but everyone has the capability of having a mediumistic or psychic experience, and the RAFT technique helps people. I get emails from people all the time saying, “Oh wow, thank you for the RAFT technique.” For everyone who has reached out, I’d like to thank you for letting me help.”

In Never Letting Go, you describe being at a murder scene and playing a role. Can you share that story?
Mark Anthony: I had just gotten back from court, and I walked into my office, and my secretary, Lynn, was shaking, and I asked, What’s wrong? She goes, “My husband just witnessed a murder.” Now her husband worked for a moving company, and I said, “Well, let’s get to the scene.” I knew there’d be police everywhere. This occurred in an upscale high-end neighborhood. So, we jumped in my car and zipped to the scene.
Of course, police were swarming all over the place, and her husband was totally freaked out. As we’re walking up suddenly, I started shaking, and Lynn’s looking at me, going, “Oh my God, you’re doing that thing, you do, aren’t you?” And I could see this spirit running in circles. And the spirit ran right up to me, and it was this, he looked like he was about 5’8″, olive complexion, clean cut. He was wearing khaki, like camouflage. He was trying to communicate with me, but it was at such a high frequency, and I took a deep breath, and I said, “You’re gonna have to go into the light.”
Immediately, he pixelated, and now I’m sweating. When these things happen, I get really physically hot, and I’m like, OK, I’ve got to act lawyerly. So, the cops knew who I was because I was a criminal defense attorney, and I used to be a prosecutor.
I walked up to a couple of the cops and figured, well, let me start acting lawyerly now. And I asked, “was the suspect a Hispanic male, about 5’8”, wearing khaki clothes?” All of a sudden, they looked at me, and there’s a uniformed cop and a detective. And the detective goes, “How do you know what the victim looked like? “The body’s been secured.”
Now, all of a sudden, I realize, uh-oh, their focus is on me. Then, Lynn walks up and said, “Well, my husband told us what he looked like.” What happened was that it was a high-end neighborhood, and her husband and his crew were loading furniture into a big truck. They saw the victim running up the driveway with another guy chasing him with a gun, and they initially thought they must be playing paintball. Until the guy chasing him unloaded the clip and basically blew the guy’s head off, they were horrified. After that, the murderer jumped in his car and took off.
So, I saw the spirit right after he died. And generally, when somebody dies, they immediately go into the light. They know this. But we got there soon enough to where he was still lingering and I told him hey, you know, it’s okay to go into the light. I don’t believe in spirits being trapped here, he just needed a nudge.
Two months later, I was out, it was either lunch or breakfast with a friend of mine, and I saw a copy of a newspaper, and there were these three men on the cover with their pictures. And I looked at one of them and I go, boy, that guy looks familiar. I wonder if it’s one of my clients who was arrested. And I held up the paper, and all of a sudden, I go, oh my God, that was the guy that had been murdered, and there was an article about the story, about what happened. At that time, growing marijuana was illegal.
And so what these drug organizations, these drug dealers, they were renting houses in high-end neighborhoods where there’s low crime and using them as grow houses. Something went wrong, and one guy went berserk and murdered the guy I saw. Then, he went and murdered another guy, and then he turned the gun on himself. But I recognized the one who communicated with me in spirit, I mean, it was him.
That was one of those instances where, after the fact and this was two months after the fact not only did I receive validation that what I saw was real, I mean I had hard evidence of it, which was his picture.

What can people expect from a personal reading or one of your monthly light circles? Are readings done by phone or Zoom?
Mark Anthony: Phone readings are just as accurate as in-person. People are like, “Well, how can you do that?” And I explain in the Afterlife Frequency, how spirits, being pure energy, move at the speed of light, which is the same speed as a phone call. So they zip back and forth between us, and they’re able to give me information, and the vast majority of the readings I do, because my clientele is all over the United States and the world. So, I do a lot of phone readings.
And then light circles are online events. I also do light circles in person at the expos and the conferences. I also do large events in front of many people. Light circles are really wonderful because they’re limited to six attendees and that way everyone is guaranteed a connection. However, there’s a synergy to the light circle, and I got a great example of this, if I may.
I was at the Helping Parents Heal Conference and I was conducting a Light Circle, and there was a gentleman, his wife, they’d lost a son. Everybody there had lost sons. I didn’t know this because this is “a random group of people,” and all the spirits that came through were young men, and I said, “Who lost a son?” And everybody raised their hand. And I’m drawn to this one couple, and I said I feel like a car collision. They said “Yeah, our son died in a car crash.” And I said, “Now he’s showing me airplanes, airplanes. And then the dad goes, “Well, I’m a pilot, I’m a commercial airline pilot.” I relayed, “Now he’s showing me 0717, 0717, 0717.” And the guy goes “Oh my God.” And he holds up his phone. He says “Every day the airline gives us a new transponder code. And I was flying on my birthday this last July, which was 0717, and that was the transponder code I received that day.” And he holds up a picture of himself next to the transponder code. So, this was definitely his son, coming through.
The spirits of these boys were working together, and the pilot said, “I know exactly what he’s talking about.” He said, “A couple of years ago, I was in England and I rented a car with a stick shift.” He says, “Well, you have to sit on the right side of the car there and use the stick with your left hand.” So he said, “I’m constantly looking down.” And he said, your son wasn’t used to driving a stick. That’s what the message was. So, he was looking down at the time of the collision. The mother said, “This answers my question because the witnesses said they didn’t hear any brakes or anything. They just saw the car fly off the road near Thousand Oaks.”
The pilot said he knew the road near Thousand Oaks. He said, “I recorded this video. It’s one of the last Father-Son days with my son. I just bought a new Jaguar in Thousand Oaks, California, and I wanted to take a scenic ride home.” And he starts playing the video, and you can hear his son talk, and you can tell he’s a really nice kid. We’re watching the video, and they’re going around this mountain, and then the video stops.
The other woman says, “Oh dear God, that’s the exact place my son died.” I mean, everybody in the room, their jaws were just dropping, myself included, because this group of people did not know each other before this, but they were brought together. Nothing spiritual is negative or harmful because this one woman had so many mysteries. Why did her son go off the cliff? She now had the answer that could only have been explained by this pilot, and their sons were working together.
And so, with group sessions, there’s this synergistic effect that you’ll get in the light circles in the group sessions, and, trust me, in the one-on-one readings, you’re going to get things like this as well. And so, yeah, you can find out about all of that, and I invite everyone to sign up for my newsletter at my website, which is afterlifefrequency.com. And also, I do a live stream show every Thursday at 7 pm Eastern, 6 pm Central, 5 pm Mountain, 4 pm Pacific. It’s called The Psychic & The Doc. My co-host, Dr. Pat Baccili, is a world-renowned behavioral psychologist, and it’s a really cool story how this started.
But I know we’re running out of time. Long story short, people call in, and I’ll do a reading for them. Then, Dr. Pat, with her incredible gift of insight and counseling, helps people understand the magnitude of the message. You can find out about all of this by visiting my website, afterlifefrequency.com.

What advice would you give to someone struggling with grief, whether their loss was recent or long ago?
Mark Anthony: To quote my friend Rhonda Schwartz, who is a medium. She said we have one life and it’s eternal. And that’s what we have to understand, that life is an eternal process, and the physical part of it is just a drop of water in the infinite ocean of what our existence is.
The thing about grief is that it doesn’t have an expiration date, and some days are going to be better than others, and then there’ll be even if it was, like you said, 20 years ago, something can trigger that intense pain.
There’s nothing we can do about the fact that someone we love has physically died, but what we can do is change how we react to it and, by changing that, engage in our spiritual path. Open your heart. Reach out to friends and family. If you need counseling, do counseling. If you’ve lost a child, I recommend Helping Parents Heal. Beautiful organization. Don’t go through grief alone.
You may find spirit communication through a medium may be an important therapeutic step in the journey through grief. It’s not the be-all and end-all; it’s part of a comprehensive approach.
But the thing is, grief is part of the human condition. It’s a road nobody wants to take, but it’s one we’re shoved down at some point in our lives. But we’re going to get through it, and to quote my mother, “God exists, heaven exists. Souls are immortal living spirits. We can communicate with spirits, and we will be reunited with our loved ones in the light that we call God when it is our time to leave this world.”
