What if the very places that once felt like mysteries—temples, dreams, even the spaces between lifetimes—were actually doorways into your own soul’s story?

For Amanda Romania, that realization came not in a single dramatic moment, but through a series of awakenings: a quiet Christmas night of searching for meaning, a life-changing dream on a misty Glastonbury hilltop, and an initiation in the temples of Egypt that opened her to channeling the Akashic Records. From corporate business and academia to becoming a global spiritual teacher, author, and retreat leader, Amanda has spent the last two decades guiding others to access their soul libraries, clear old contracts, and step into alignment with their higher purpose.

In this conversation, Amanda shares how Akashic Records differ from Akashic Therapy, why past-life memories unfold like puzzle pieces across time, and how retreats in sacred places can catalyze transformation in ways no book or Zoom call ever could. Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

I was just mesmerized by your chapter in Awakened Hearts. It was absolutely amazing, and you begin the chapter in December 2004. What was going on in your life at that time?

Awakened HeartsAmanda Romania: When I sat down to write the chapter—and thank you, I’m so glad you liked it—I really enjoyed the process because it took me back. I kept asking myself: What was my awakening? Where was it? That reflection reset things in my memory, bringing up moments I’d forgotten.

At the time, I was in corporate business, a single mom, and within two years, my whole life shifted. I remember thinking, This is not how I thought my life was going to turn out. I’d already been on one of those “turn your life around” experiences, similar to Tony Robbins but a British version. I kept having these thoughts and insights, with serendipitous moments—thinking of something and then having a conversation about it.

That opened me up to a new world. I was introduced to chiropractors, people doing blood therapy, and life coaches—whereas my previous world had been corporate and academic, focused on business coaching and university tracks. I guess I was really ready for a change. That Christmas evening, sitting there, I asked myself, Why am I on this shopping channel? This is driving me crazy.

You write in your chapter that your kids had gone to see their dad, and you were left alone. Was it Christmas evening?

Amanda Romania: It was Christmas night. I’d had my daughter with me in the morning, and then she went to her father’s. His family lived in the same town, so it wasn’t far away. But suddenly I was sitting there, watching TV, realizing this wasn’t the traditional Christmas I had imagined.

I wondered, Where are my friends? Where are my colleagues? Where is my family? Even then, I felt out of place in society. I wasn’t with couples or families, I wasn’t in a city, and my friends had canceled. It was starting to feel like a pity party.

Something within me—my own spirit—said, Take some action. Do something. Start looking for something. So that’s when I went online and began to search.

And you came across a retreat. What was it about that retreat that intrigued you, and why did you ultimately sign up?

Amanda Romania: This was interesting. For years, I had worked for a company called Clark Shoes. I started there at 15 and later had my own franchise businesses. To get to their headquarters, I often drove through a town called Street, and right next to it was Glastonbury. People always said it was a strange place, but I had never stopped there.

Then suddenly, this retreat center appeared online. There was an angel workshop happening that summer, and I thought, Maybe getting out of my own way and spending time at this angel workshop could be helpful.

When I looked more closely, I realized the retreat center next door in Glastonbury offered spiritual detoxes. I thought, Why not? I’ve got the weekend. I can drive down, do some business in the next town, and attend the workshop.

So I just clicked the button, sent the money through on my credit card, and signed up. At the time, the website was very simple—just a dove, some healing rooms, and messages like You are loved and You are beloved. I thought, How could that be a difficult change?

And were you spiritual at the time, or was this something completely outside of your frame of reference?

Amanda Romania: It wasn’t completely outside of my frame of reference, because I’d already been attending some “uplift your life” events. But those were mostly about positive thinking—things like These are the seven conditions of humankind.

At that point, I hadn’t yet explored crystal balls, Reiki healing, or that deeper metaphysical side. But I had been introduced to Tarot and aura cards, and I discovered I had this uncanny knack for using them. I’d lay out cards for people, and they would say, Wow, that’s exactly what’s happening in my life.

At first, it felt more like entertainment. But the more I did it, the more proficient—and open—I became.

Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

In your chapter, you write about being at the Glastonbury retreat and having this life-changing dream. Let me read this paragraph—it’s so beautiful, and I’d love for you to share how you made sense of it. You wrote:

“That night in a creaky room above the meditation space, the dreams came. I found myself wandering a misty hilltop where our retreat center was located, hearing voices whispering from stone circles and the large monument strikingly placed at the top. A silver-eyed hare appeared, staring into me as if it knew every choice I had avoided. It turned and ran down the steeper side of the hill. I followed it through twisting lanes until we reached a mirror standing in the middle of a field. When I looked in, I saw myself—not as I was, but vibrant, laughing, and wind-tossed.”

This dream is so vivid that you still remember it 20 years later. How did you make sense of that experience at the time?

Amanda Romania: When I first arrived at the retreat center, it looked like a big family home—just a regular four-bedroom house in England. But inside, there were collections of books, images, Egyptian art, druid art, and local pieces. I felt an emotional connection to them, as if they were awakening memories within me.

So when I had that dream, it was like one of those five o’clock in the morning moments—you’re in a strange place, you stir awake, and then drift back into this deep, vivid dream. When I woke, I wondered, Did that really just happen?

At the time, no one else was staying there—just Isis, the woman who ran the retreat, and me. At first, she seemed like a kind older lady. We got along, chatting in the kitchen over soup. But then, as I stood in the garden with my green detox juice, watching them drum and play singing bowls, I started to realize this was something very different.

That experience has stayed with me over the past 20 years, even through meeting countless metaphysical healers, teachers, shamans, and indigenous leaders. I’ve learned that sometimes strange experiences come our way—and if you allow them, without forcing or dismissing them, truly magical things can unfold.

Not only did you go on a retreat to Glastonbury, but then after that, you went to Egypt. How long was the distance between the first retreat and the second experience?

Amanda Romania: That was only about 10–12 weeks, so it was a very quick turnaround. By the time I got home, within a week, Isis had already sent me the brochure. She was a brilliant spiritual mentor—and honestly, if she’d gone into business and marketing, she would have been a fantastic teacher. She was very strategic.

When I saw the brochure, I felt something stir. To be honest, I was looking for community. I wanted to meet like-minded people—those who had corporate jobs, who were grounded in business, but were also searching for something more unusual. Egypt seemed to bridge that gap for me.

At that point, I didn’t really have anyone to travel with unless it was a girls’ weekend. My daughter and I were taking small trips together, but I wanted something just for me.

Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

So you go with Isis to Egypt, you’re at the Philae Temple, and you have what you describe as your first experience channeling the Akashic Records. This part of your chapter is so profound. If you could, describe what was happening and how this came through you.

Amanda Romania: Going into the trip, I assumed nothing major would happen until the end—until we got to the pyramids. I thought it was going to be two weeks with over 40 people, lots of ritual, and teaching. But even before that, in Abu Simbel, I’d already had an experience where words and messages were starting to come through, though I couldn’t fully vocalize them yet.

Then we arrived at Philae Temple. We had just completed the ritual or teaching there, and I noticed a few of the women were crying. I’d always led women’s teams in business—especially in children’s departments—so it felt very natural for me to step into a supportive role. Not to tell them what to do, but to comfort and hold space for them.

The moment I touched their hands, I began seeing stories. One woman said, I see an earthquake. And I responded, Yes, this is what happened—the earth shook, and… I was able to weave a narrative around what I was seeing. It wasn’t just a story they listened to passively. One of the women suddenly said, I was born during an earthquake. I was born in Greece, and we actually had that. So they began filling in the details of the story as well.

Within 15 minutes, these women had shifted from emotional overwhelm to an empowered place of self-understanding. They could remember, learn from, and make sense of what they were feeling.

That’s really how Akashic therapy began for me. It wasn’t about telling someone, You were here in Egypt, you lived during the time of Akhenaten, and this is what happened to you. It was about recognizing: This is in your soul library, in your records. And together we can help you heal it, clear it, or understand it.

As that was coming through you, how did it feel? Were you surprised at it yourself, or did it just feel like, No, this is what I’m supposed to be doing?

Amanda Romania: At the time, I didn’t think, This is my destiny, this is what I’m supposed to be doing. It was more like, Oh, this seems to work. It’s helping this situation.

My background in retail and management had already trained me to respond naturally in challenging moments—with employees, suppliers, or customers. I assumed everyone could do that. I thought I simply had an emotional intelligence that allowed me to tune into people and situations. For years, I rationalized it as, This isn’t scary; everybody can do this. Later, of course, I realized not everyone could. But that ability was what made me successful both in the corporate world and in academia. People would often ask, Why does her mind work like that?

So being able to apply that same skill in a sacred site felt very natural—almost as if I’d done it for lifetimes. At that stage, I didn’t understand reincarnation or past lives. I only knew that everyone around me seemed to be talking about them, though often they were locked in the story. And I kept wondering: Is that really helping you? Is it serving your life now to cling to this past life identity? If you were that person, fine—but what are you going to do with it today? That was the main takeaway for me.

Did you have any sense, while you were there, that you had a past life in that place? I know you said you didn’t really understand past lives then, but as others were referencing them, did you wonder, Was I here too?

Amanda Romania: Past lives don’t always come through in a neat, linear way. They arrive in fragments. For me, it actually took three journeys before I could piece together what had happened at Philae Temple.

On one visit, some of the women decided to return because one of them believed she was the “real Isis.” I remember thinking, These are grown women—what is happening here, and why am I sitting on the floor listening to this? I absorbed their story but didn’t fully understand my own connection.

A few days later, we went to Edfu Temple, the Temple of Horus. It was crowded, mobbed with tourists. As we pushed through, I started to panic from being jostled. Then a young man in our group, a priest, reached out and grabbed my hand. He steadied me and said, We’re not leaving you in this place on your own. That moment was deeply emotional for me.

I couldn’t put the pieces together right then. What I felt was a dramatic shift—from the beauty of the divine feminine to the chaos and aggression of the masculine, almost like stepping into a war zone. It wasn’t until three journeys later that one of my teachers asked me directly: Were you an oracle in that temple? Without hesitation, I answered, Yes—and it wasn’t good.

I remembered being forced to channel, to bring in shadow energies, and it was not a pleasant experience. Over time, that storyline wove itself together. In fact, my first novel, Return to the Temple, begins with the stories of Glastonbury but moves into those past-life experiences of being an oracle at Edfu.

It took nearly 20 years for me to fully heal that. But today, I can return to Edfu Temple with groups and offer them a completely different experience—one that is gentle, beautiful, and healing.

Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

When you were remembering yourself as an oracle in Edfu Temple, it sounds like that came together gradually, in pieces over time. Was that through past life regression, meditation, or simply conversation? How did those memories surface?

Amanda Romania: It’s a little like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. An example that shows how this works for me happened years later, in 2013, when I went to the Frankfurt Book Fair. I had never been to Germany before, but I always carried an emotional feeling that something had happened there.

The Book Fair was overwhelming—massive, dazzling, exciting. My book was being featured with Random House, and I was thrilled. But the night before, I had a dream. In it, I was a child, maybe three or four years old, on a train heading toward the camps. I felt the sharp pain in my legs, then saw myself leaving my body. In the dream, I died. When I woke, it felt so real that I wondered, Am I even supposed to be here? I tucked that memory away.

Fast forward to just four months ago. I was working with a long-term client, Gloria, in Germany. During a session, she entered a regression state, and we found ourselves looking over a balcony, watching souls transition from the earth plane. I asked her, Where are we? What are we seeing? She replied that these souls were in deep pain, and suddenly the year “1945” clicked in for me.

I asked, Are these the souls coming after the atomic bombs? She said yes. She was fully in regression; I was fully conscious, but receiving messages at the same time. We later investigated further and realized that I had crossed over in 1943, and by 1945, I was working on this “front line of heaven,” helping receive those who transitioned after the bombs in Japan. Between August 6th and 9th, 100,000 people passed in just days.

Gloria said in the regression, It took 20 years to sort these records out. And I realized my soul had stayed working in that realm until I reincarnated in 1968. From 1945 to 1965, I was “upstairs,” helping process and heal those records before returning. Then, 57 years later, here I am, sitting with you. That’s how you can track timelines—by staying open to the story without getting lost in the personality or ego of it.

When you say “don’t get lost in the ego of it or the personality,” what do you mean?

Amanda Romania: Each of us is who we are now—this body, this life, this current chapter of our soul’s records. At the same time, we carry ancestral memories and even the imprint of the nation or culture we were born into. Past life regressions can show us experiences from long ago, but those records may not always align with who we are today.

If someone tries to fully become that past-life version of themselves, they risk splitting into two records—repeating the story instead of learning from it. That’s why, when I guide people, I encourage them to observe themselves in a past life rather than step into that identity. Observation gives clarity; immersion can blur timelines.

Sometimes ego takes over. You’ll hear people declare, I was this famous figure in history. And maybe they were—but what matters is how that frequency can serve them now. For example, I’ve been on journeys where four people all claimed to be Mother Mary. What I explain is that you’re channeling her frequency—her energy of grace, kindness, and love. Maybe you were with her, maybe you carried her essence, or maybe you were her. But the point is not to get lost in the cinematic story. It’s to embody the qualities and gifts of that energy in your present life.

Amanda, I’ve only been in this community for about six or seven years, really immersing myself in the last three or four. Coming from over a decade as a Christian pastor, many of these concepts are new to me, and I sometimes feel like an outsider. One that fascinates me is past lives. People often say they were kings or queens, but no one ever seems to claim they were just an ordinary servant. That’s why I love how you describe it—learn the lesson without getting caught in the ego. I’ll be honest, I don’t know anything about my own past lives and sometimes joke that maybe I don’t even have one.

Amanda Romania: Absolutely. And sometimes it really does get lost in the glamour. But I believe we’re all the servants, the cleaners, the farmers—we’ve lived those lives, too. And that’s important to remember.

Especially in Egypt, the experiences are designed for learning and spiritual growth. Egypt teaches in ways we don’t even see coming. You think you’re going there for a grand spiritual awakening, and instead you lose your credit cards. Or you expect just to observe, and suddenly you’re flooded with downloads and epiphanies.

I’ve been leading groups there for over 20 years now, so I’ve navigated both sides—the practical and the mystical.

Amanda Romania - Awakened MagazineMandy and I are actually going to Egypt for 10 days. I’ve never been there, though Mandy has once before, but not in a spiritual mindset. We have a guide who’ll take us to many of the places you’re speaking about. I feel like my role is just to be open—to simply receive the experience.

Amanda Romania: That’s exactly what I’d recommend. Be open.

I just worked with a woman who recently left with a group of 80 people, led by another spiritual teacher. Lots of people are being called there right now. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work not only with spiritual groups but also with archaeologists and guides in Egypt.

My mentor was a man named Hakeem, one of the original Khemit gatekeepers of the Sphinx. I’ve had the privilege of working with many different aspects of Egypt through him.

And in 2021, I joined a tour with Zahi Hawass, the famous archaeologist who recently toured the U.S. I spent private time with him, asking questions. He holds firmly to archaeological truths, yet when you press him, he’ll acknowledge things—shafts, yes, though he insists no tunnels.

In 2019, I even had the chance to go under the Sphinx through a small shaft at the back. I’m known for crawling into dark holes and tombs and climbing ladders I probably shouldn’t. But that’s part of the adventure. And Egypt has given me many of those.

I was just at the San Diego Transcendence Retreat last weekend and sat down with a woman—she’s both a psychic reader and a PhD in psychology. It was just a quick five-minute reading, and I’m always open to these things. She said, “You’re surrounded by images of Egypt. I see Egypt all around you. Guides are coming through, and I see Horus appearing as a guide and support for you.”

Then she added—mind you, I’m a six-foot-five man—“In a past life, you were a woman of high esteem, but very short in stature.” And I thought, How did I go from this to a very short woman? What is this?

Amanda Romania: In those days, if you were a woman of high birth or royalty, you really had two choices. Either you married the husband chosen for you, or you became a priestess. If you went under the priestesses of Hathor—the counterpart to Horus—you were brought in for the festivals.

Many of those festival times are starting to resurface again. Even though Egypt today presents them as cultural displays, the deeper truth is that they’re reactivating past-life realms. That’s part of why people feel drawn to travel there, why curiosity and open connections are pulling so many back. We’re collectively running with it.

We’ve talked about the Akashic Records, but also Akashic therapy. Could you help us define both of those—how they are related, how they’re different, and why they’re such an important tool for spiritual development and for life here on Earth?

Amanda Romania: Working with clients and students, one of the most common questions I hear—and I imagine you hear this as well through the magazine—is: Why am I here? What am I here for? What is my purpose?

Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

Every single person on the planet is asking that.

Amanda Romania: Exactly. Back in 2007 and 2008, when I worked on psychic hotlines, people mostly wanted to know about money, health, or relationships. But today, the primary question is: What is my soul’s purpose? Why am I here?

I began to realize that all of this information—our answers, our guidance—is available if we know where to look. We can access it through astrology, human design, or other tools humanity has used for thousands of years. But I wanted a way to make the Akashic Records feel simple, approachable—not like some mysterious gray mist.

When I was teaching in Asia, particularly with my students in China, I faced the challenge of a language barrier. I don’t speak Mandarin, so I had to explain things visually and simply. What came to me was a computer metaphor. I told them: Think of your physical body as the hardware. Your mental thoughts, emotions, and soul are the software.

Just like with a computer, you need to clean things out—old files, spam, unnecessary downloads. Sometimes you get overloaded, the spinning wheel shows up, and the system crashes. In the same way, we accumulate toxic thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We have the choice to clear those out and then intentionally upload new visions, ideas, and creativity.

That’s how I began to see the Akashic Records. Maybe it’s like a cloud—a vast database where all the data of our soul is stored like tiny grains of sand. If we can tap into those grains, we can receive information. Today, we’re used to saying, Google it or even AI it. Two hundred years ago, people like me—librarians of spiritual knowledge—might have been burned at the stake for channeling information. But now, we understand the brain itself has the capacity to transmit and receive on a much larger scale than we typically use.

Studies by teachers like Deepak Chopra and others show the brain firing in unique ways during meditation or channeling. To me, that confirms it: when I bring people information from their Akashic Records, it’s coming from an energetic, electrical source.

The key is intention. I always begin with a client or student by asking: What is your intention? That guides the search. Otherwise, it’s like typing into Google: Find me a house, and getting results from Singapore when you really wanted Sedona. The more specific you are—price, location, type—the more aligned the results.

That was the shift for me: taking the Akashic Records from a mystical concept into a form of therapy. With intention as the anchor, we can use the Records as a tool for clarity, healing, and creation.

So, how do you then take this information and apply it to a client? Let’s say someone comes to you—what is the most common presenting problem? Is it usually the purpose question—What is my purpose, what am I supposed to be doing—or is it more about relationships and money?

Amanda Romania: I tend to work with three main groups of people.

The first are what I call my front-line clients. These are people trying to make sense of their lives right now—their relationships, their finances, where they live. With them, I’ll often use tools like Oracle cards to look at contracts, connections, and patterns. Sometimes ancestral threads show up—something playing out in a grandfather’s life, for example, that is now echoing into theirs. The goal is to help them sort things out on a daily, practical level, without diving into heavy shadow work.

The second group is spiritual mentors, teachers, and coaches. They’ll come to me when they’re preparing projects, retreats, or events and want clarity on their higher purpose and placement. With them, I’ll look at their present life contracts and sometimes guide them through a meditative regression experience. It’s like walking them into a beautiful hotel and opening the door to the room where their answers are waiting—they get to step in and work directly with that energy.

In fact, I’ve recently started sharing this work on my YouTube channel, Akashic Answers, where people can actually see live readings. In one of the newest episodes, I worked with a young life coach in California who was preparing a large foundation event for people with disabilities. Through visualization and remote viewing, we aligned her vision with her soul’s energy so she could bring it into reality.

Finally, there are what I call my special ops clients. These are people working on big projects—documentaries, businesses, events, even political initiatives. They want a behind-the-scenes view. Because I was trained both in business and in military-style remote viewing, I blend those worlds with my spiritual practice to create strategies. In this way, I help them navigate large-scale endeavors with the support of spiritual tools.

I understand the first group—you’re helping people who are struggling in life with therapeutic support through the Akashic Records. The second group—leaders, healers, and coaches—you’re supporting their life purpose and business vision. But I’m curious about the third group. When a leader comes to you with a vision for a film, a business, or even a political endeavor, how do you actually help them on a practical level? If I cast my vision to you, what happens next?

Amanda Romania: Most of my work is referral-based because this type of work requires an extreme level of trust. Occasionally, someone books in as a new client, and I won’t know who they are at first. But then I’ll realize they may have thousands of people working under them, and they’ve come because someone told them, “This woman can help. I don’t know how she does it, but she can help.”

In those sessions, I’ll read their contracts and the energetic framework around what they’re trying to establish. We look at their vision on both the personal and global levels. I’ll point out potential red flags, and then I guide them into the energetic experience itself. What does it feel like to walk into that meeting? To stand before 5,000 people? To step into the energy of a global project?

Alongside that, I explain the karma they may be creating—the ripple effect of their actions and intentions. What they put out into the universe will return, so they need to be mindful of the spiritual logistics. My role is to help them sense it, know it, and prepare for it before they walk into the physical experience.

In many ways, it mirrors the role of an oracle thousands of years ago. Imagine a pharaoh entering a temple in Egypt. The high priest would announce, “The oracle will speak with you.” She would emerge, offer insight into what was to come, and help the leader prepare. She might not know anything about the outer world, but she could see the spiritual dynamics at play.

That’s how I approach my work today. I’ll share insights and, weeks later, the person might see confirmation in the news or through their own experience. I don’t get attached to the outcome; I simply pass along what comes through.

With larger projects—like documentaries—I’ve been asked to explore the sacred backstories. For example, with a film about the women of Standing Rock, I was able to access the historical and ancestral energies of that land and those families. By shifting and honoring those energetics, the creative team was able to move forward with their project.

So whether it’s a global leader or someone navigating their personal spiritual path, the process is the same: uncovering the energetic story behind the experience and helping them align with it in a conscious way.

Amanda Romania - Awakened Magazine

When you say “shifting energetics,” what does that mean, and what’s the result of it?

Amanda Romania: There’s a modality called Family Constellation Work—a psychological therapy where groups of people step into roles to help someone heal a family dynamic. I did this work many years ago, and it made me so physically ill that I never forgot it. Everyone seemed to pick me for their archetype story, and at the time, I didn’t know how to protect or clear my energy. I learned quickly.

What I discovered is that, instead of putting people directly into that kind of intensity, you can create a remote simulation in an energetic field. Without trying to control it, you open the doorways and create a virtual energetic space for someone to step into. They work within that field, and then they go out and do their projects.

Months later, I’ll sometimes hear back—someone will say, Six months ago we worked on this, and now I just saw it manifest on TV or in real life. I know the work made an impact, but it’s not mine to claim. My role is to help them set up that constellation — that energetic framework —so they can do the work they came here to do.

That’s why those projects fascinate me so much.

Tell me more about that in terms of your personal motivation. Why do you do this work? What drives you?

Amanda Romania: First, curiosity. I’ve always been a lifelong student. I did my MBA in Business Management through Durham University, and they invited me back for the doctorate program. I would sit in academic settings with leaders from all over the world, and people looked at me like, Who’s that strange girl? She doesn’t quite fit in. But then I’d start talking, and offering insight, and information would just come through.

Some of the professors—especially the Americans, from Harvard and Stanford—understood me. My thesis asked: Why are titans of business like Steve Jobs or Estée Lauder so successful? Often, they would credit their angels, or say they manifested it, but people didn’t understand what that really meant. My research explored the energetic and spiritual backstory behind such leaders—how spiritual ethics and unseen forces shaped their impact.

The religious studies department kept pulling me in, and I could debate theology endlessly, but my real curiosity was: What does this mean for the world? That became my life’s work: exploring those realms and helping others explore them too.

When I began working in the “life between lives,” I witnessed so many souls leaving the planet with unfinished business. Over time, I developed what I call my teams of librarians in the higher realms—my own guides. They would say to me, Amanda, we’re exhausted. People aren’t finishing their work. They’re not healing relationships. They’re arriving with bags of sorrow and regret.

I realized my role was to help here, in real time, so souls could release some of that baggage before they transitioned. For about six months, I worked closely with death doulas, even supporting a documentary filmed in Helsinki about their work. What struck me was how often people at the end of life shared the same regrets: I didn’t say this. I didn’t heal that. I didn’t express what I needed to.

Together with those doulas, we developed practices where people could record letters or messages before they passed, which could then be delivered to loved ones after death. That kind of work helps my “teams upstairs” because fewer souls cross over burdened with unresolved pain.

And I’ve seen a shift. More recently, many people are passing with gratitude: I had a good life. I had children I loved. I may not have had much money or perfect health, but I leave this life happy, knowing it was well spent.

That, to me, is ascension. People often say, I want to ascend, I want off this planet. But true ascension is leaving with peace, gratitude, and lightness. My role is to help make that transition gentler, to help people finish what they came to do.

I want to hear about your Akashic Records Oracle Cards. What motivated you to create this deck, and how can people use it?

Amanda Romania: Anyone who has worked with Oracle cards knows there’s been an evolution in the marketplace. Five hundred years ago, it started with tarot and playing cards in the royal courts and mystery schools of Europe. Over time, these evolved. About twenty years ago, a woman with a strong angelic presence began creating decks with many different themes, and she opened the door for countless authors to follow.

I was working with over a thousand of these cards from multiple decks. They were wonderful, but I found myself asking, This is good information, but is it actively helping my people? I was still script-writing records, channeling contracts, clearing curses or spells. Around 2017 or 2018, I sat down with my assistant Jen and said, If we’re going to truly read, rewrite, and clear records, what cards do we need?

We mapped it out: chakras, past lives, present life, future, cosmic lives, karmic boards, curses, wars—everything. We created a prototype, printed it at Staples, and started working with it. The results were immediate. The information came faster, the channeling became clearer, and clients began having profound breakthroughs.

We printed a hundred decks and shared them with students who had trained with me. Their feedback was remarkable: Amanda, this shifted everything. I received new clarity. I broke through an old pattern. The deck became a tool not just for me but for anyone wanting to read their records.

During COVID, an agency in Beijing picked it up, and suddenly hundreds—if not thousands—of decks were being used. Each one fed into the collective work of the “librarians” who are helping here on the earth plane. Now I’m on the fourth version, with upgraded paper and gold leaf. It’s become an intrinsic tool, and because the “master deck” is alive and present through me, every deck is live as well. That’s what makes it so unique.

I want to hear more about that word live. I saw it on your website, but I wasn’t sure what it meant. What makes a deck live, and how is that different from another Oracle deck?

Amanda Romania: Some decks are simply paper and images—they work like playing cards, offering information but not much energetic depth. Others are “alive.” I consider decks by teachers like Colette Baron-Reid or Cheryl Yambrach Rose to be alive because the creators themselves are active artists, teachers, or oracles. Their energy flows through the work.

When a creator moves on—whether to a new path or even through death—the energy behind the deck can shift. I’ve had students tell me they felt something “die” inside when a teacher burned or retired their decks. That’s because the energetic source had moved on.

A live deck carries an energetic platform that’s being protected, cleared, and actively worked with. When you pull a card, it’s not just information—it’s operating in energetic fields. For example, someone may pull a Crown Chakra card and immediately feel a tingling at the top of their head. Or someone may watch one of my live podcasts and message me afterward: Wow, when you pulled that card, I felt activated. I received my own message.

We often talk about how words, thoughts, and frequencies affect us. A live deck works in that same energetic web. It’s powerful, mysterious, and at times even a little strange. But for me, it’s simply the work I do—helping people feel, heal, and expand through energy that’s very much alive.

Thank you so much for sharing that. I’d love to hear about retreats. You lead many of them—but why retreats? Why do you feel they’re so powerful compared to doing ten sessions with you, reading a book, using your Oracle cards, or even going to Reiki? There are so many modalities. Why do you believe in retreats so much?

Amanda Romania: I’ve structured my work so people can engage at different levels. You can start with a book, a session, or even a video program. But retreats create a paradigm shift that you simply can’t replicate in other formats.

Each retreat location is strategic. For example, my Egypt retreat is about the outer experience. You’re walking through temples, receiving activations, and absorbing information that we then process during quiet times through journaling or reflection. I can’t teach that from a book or even over Zoom. When someone stands in a temple, receives an activation, or takes the pose of the Sphinx during an initiation—that’s an embodied experience they carry forever.

Costa Rica is different. That retreat is an immersion, like placing people into an energetic pod. We go to a center called Verdezana, high in the mountains, with an incredibly pure vibration. It’s a five-star experience where everything is cared for, creating a safe “womb” for spiritual exploration. Our recent group worked with dragon energies and the 8/8 Lion’s Gate. Each woman was able to feel safe enough to be emotionally vulnerable, and each had her own journey of deep inner connection.

And then there are retreats in Sedona. I don’t host my own there, but I facilitate—teaching, offering private sessions, and holding space for groups who bring their retreats here. That balance works well for me.

So in 2026, you have one scheduled in Egypt, April 24–May 4, and one in Costa Rica, August 6–11. Are those still open, or are they waitlist only?

Amanda Romania: Both are waitlist only. We’re already pre-registering for April 2027 in Egypt and August 2027 in Costa Rica. My groups are small—18 in Egypt and 16 in Costa Rica. Early on, I led groups of 45, but that no longer aligns with my work. I prefer the intimacy and depth that come with a smaller group.

Beautiful. So people can book a one-on-one session, get the Oracle card deck, read your books, attend a retreat, or even bring you in as the “secret superpower” behind a CEO or filmmaker. Where can people connect with you and follow your work?

Amanda Romania: It’s very easy. Everything is under my name—Amanda Romania. The website is www.amandaromania.com, and my email is amanda@amandaromania.com. I’m active on Instagram, Facebook, and now on YouTube.

And of course, I’m honored to contribute monthly to Awakened Magazine. Writing for the magazine has helped me find my voice, sharing esoteric concepts in a way that’s clear and accessible. I welcome readers to reach out with topics or questions—I love responding to the community through my articles and social media.

Wonderful. And of course, people are going to love your chapter in Awakened Hearts, Volume 2, coming out on November 10, 2025. Amanda, thank you for all that you’re doing in the world. I love how you blend business expertise with esoteric wisdom. It’s so practical—you want people to live well, to heal, and to transition with peace. Thank you for the work you’re doing.

Amanda Romania: My honor and my pleasure, David. Thank you for everything you and Awakened Magazine are doing, and thank you to everyone who has shared this time with us.
