With so much happening in the world, opinions are deeply polarized. What does Bashar sense is unfolding?

Darryl Anka: My understanding is that this is a reset of humanity, and we’re being given an opportunity to experience all sorts of things being brought out on the table so we can decide what we really prefer.

So, a lot of what most people now perceive as chaos, uncertainty, and divisiveness is actually about presenting all the options. It allows us to understand—do we want something like that to continue? Do we want to go in this direction or that direction? Everything is being put in front of us so we can say, “Okay, we prefer this, we don’t prefer that,” and take action to change it, moving in a direction that benefits all.

I think that’s why we’re seeing so much chaos and uncertainty. This is the time of choosing. Our greatest power is the freedom to decide what we truly prefer in a way that benefits all of humanity and allows us to be of service. We are being shown things that give us a clear idea of what works and what doesn’t so that we can finally make decisions that help us move forward a little more collectively, positively, and creatively.

What was your journey into consciousness, mindfulness, and spirituality? Did you grow up with any faith or spiritual influence?

Darryl Anka: I was raised as a Catholic. In fact, I went the whole route. I was a choir boy. I was an altar boy, but it always seemed a little bit surreal to me, not completely real. I enjoyed certain aspects of it, but the thing that was interesting to me is the Catholic faith has always been something that’s open to the idea of mystery and the unknown. And I think that probably helped a lot, or prepared me a lot for what was about to happen in my life, which started with the UFO sightings I had in 1973.

I’d always heard about things like UFOs, but when you finally see something like that, it changes everything, because you’re told, well, these things don’t really exist. And then this thing appears in front of you in broad daylight. It’s a solid object that you can’t explain, and so you start realizing there are things going on in the world that are different than what you were told. The world is not what we thought, and that started me really on my journey to find out what was going on.

But a lot of things back then—there weren’t a lot of books on the subject. There were a few, so I just started reading kind of everything that was on the metaphysical shelves in the bookstores. Just one thing led to another. I finally got familiar with the concept of what channeling was through the Seth books, the Jane Roberts Seth books. And 10 years after the UFO sightings, I was introduced to a channel who was conducting seminars at the time and I listened to that information for several months. I thought it was very positive and constructive, very helpful coming through that channel.

But eventually, the entity coming through the channel offered to teach a channeling class. Now, I went into the class, not because I thought I was going to be a channel, I just wanted to continue my research because I didn’t understand how something like channeling could be taught to another person. I thought it was something that just sort of happened to you. Of course, didn’t happen at all. It sort of struck you out of the blue because a lot of the earlier stories, and especially the Jane Roberts thing, and especially the teacher that taught the class I was in, they were just kind of like, walking down the street one day and something happened and they lost consciousness. But their friend said, “But you’ve been talking for the last two hours,” and so that’s how they kind of started.

Who were those channels that you were learning from early?

Darryl Anka: I’m saying the Jane Roberts, The Seth Material. The channel that taught the channeling class for me was a man named Thomas Massari. They were not cognizant of the fact that they had made an agreement to do these things. They just sort of unfolded in their lives automatically, and so I wanted to see, well, how do you teach something like that?

The class was a series of different kinds of guided meditations, and it wasn’t necessarily expected that you were going to actually become a channel. It can be used for more creativity, more access to your own higher consciousness. But the class was about a 12-week course, and about halfway through, while the class was under a guided meditation being given by the entity, something connected in my head, and it was just kind of like somebody shoved a DVD in there, and all of this information was suddenly there.

I remembered making an agreement before this life to do this with Bashar. I saw an image of his face. I understood that the UFO had been shown to me in 1973 to get me to start doing the research so that when it came time to fulfill the agreement to channel Bashar, I would be better prepared. And the message that was there was, now you know it’s time to begin. Is this something you still want to do?

Now, all of this unfolded in my head in like a split second, and I didn’t know if I was hallucinating, or this was a side effect of the meditation, or my imagination, or what was going on. I hadn’t said anything. And at the moment that this happened, the entity coming through the channel teaching the class stopped talking to the class, turned to me, and said, there’s an entity here for you right now if you’re ready to begin.

I opened my eyes and glanced around, and there was a person behind me in the class. Somehow, she had picked up on the image of Bashar I saw, and she was sketching it on a piece of paper. So I already had two outside validations that this was more than my imagination, that something real was happening.

I said, okay, I’m familiar enough with the idea of channeling that I’m not afraid to continue to explore this and see what happens. So I kept going, I kept practicing. I got good enough that the teacher asked me to co-channel the next class with him.

In that class, a woman contacted the teacher, said she was doing a doctoral thesis paper on the connection between channeling and psychology, and so she needed subjects. So I became one of her subjects. I would go to her house, I would channel for her friends, she would take her notes, and she would create her thesis paper.

But word of mouth started spreading about these particular channeling events at her house. And, like, the first week there might’ve been five friends, and then the next week there were 10, and then the next week there were 20, and things started growing. People made recordings and started sharing them with other people.

I started getting asked to do this more than once a week. We started having to go to different houses to handle all the people. We started having to rent auditoriums to handle all the people as it continued to grow. And then, I started getting asked to go to different cities. I started getting asked to go to different countries, and it just kind of took off on its own. And here I am, over 40 years later, still doing this.

So that, in a nutshell, is sort of how the channeling developed for me.

Darryl Anka - Awakened Magazine

You’ve mentioned an instant knowing that you had a contract with Bashar. For those unfamiliar, who is Bashar, where is he, and what is his purpose in communicating through you?

Darryl Anka: Again, I can’t prove any of this. I have to just present it the way he presents himself, the way the channeling happens. I have to take him at his word in terms of who he says he is. So until such time as he actually manifests here on Earth, then the idea is to focus on the information, because it’s the information that sort of proves itself because it works when you apply it in your life and makes the kind of changes that people prefer.

However, Bashar does present himself as an extraterrestrial being, a physical being. This is a telepathic connection that has happened, that I’ve been trained to alter my brainwaves to a certain point, and he alters his brainwaves to a certain point. Somewhere in the middle, we lock and vibrationally connect like two tuning forks. So I act as a translation device for his thoughts. I’m functioning sort of like a telephone, but the idea is he does present himself as an extraterrestrial being.

He’s a hybrid being, what he calls a hybrid being. This is, from his point of view, the way that his society begins to initiate open contact with other civilizations. In his society, he is a first contact specialist. So he’s one of the members of his society that initiates contact with other civilizations, and therefore, the dispensation of information is one of the ways in which they determine whether we’re ready for open contact, ready to meet them physically and other alien species physically, by seeing what we do with the information he shares.

They maintain arm’s distance to make sure they’re not interfering with our evolution, that they’re not forcing themselves on us. But at a certain point, if we absorb the information, if we apply the information that they’re sharing, it starts to work for us, it starts to raise our vibrational level, it starts to make us more vibrationally compatible with the possibility of open contact, because obviously, open contact would change everything about our society and we have to be prepared for that.

So they’re very cautious. I’ve been doing this for over 40 years. But 40 years is, from his point of view, that typical cycle that humanity goes through to change from one paradigm to another, to reset itself. We are up for now a 40-year cycle. So that’s why he is basically saying that 40 years of information that he’s been sharing with us is sufficient to determine whether or not we have absorbed enough of the information to be ready for open contact. And from his point of view now, open contact will most likely occur within the next five years.

That’s what he has recently said. So this has all been a buildup, resetting humanity and our evolutionary path to be able to understand we’re not alone in the universe, to understand that we’re part of a Galactic community that considers us literally family, and therefore have participated in helping us to awaken and open up and open our eyes to the fact that we’re not alone and never have been, so that we can move forward together and expand humanity with their help coming up.

They’re not going to do everything for us, but they’re here to guide us. They’ve been here before, a long time ago, in their evolutionary path. They have a lot to help, share with us, to guide us in our ability to move forward and our ability to evolve.

So that’s basically what he’s doing. And his fundamental message is helping us understand what we really are as spirits, what we really are as human beings, and how to maximize our love, our creativity, our potential to expand ourselves in ways that allow us to become members of a larger Galactic community and reap the benefits and rewards of those kinds of connections.

It sounds like humanity is in a long time-out, working to get its act together before being invited to the next level. Would you agree?

Darryl Anka: They call this the reset of humanity, generally from about 2020 to 2050. It’s like a three-decade reset where we’re sort of reinventing ourselves and coming out, ideally, the other end of this as participants in something much larger.

So, we’re awakening to our place in the universe, basically, at this particular point. And they’re helping us with that because they recognize that we’re putting out the invitation by recognizing that we’re potentially not alone, and therefore, they’re answering that invitation and helping us along, kind of like our older siblings, so to speak.

Do you have a personal connection with Bashar outside of channeling, or is it limited to those sessions?

Darryl Anka: More often than not, it’s during the channeling, but I have had four what I would call dream encounters with him that I know are not normal dreams. The connection is always there. There’s not always information coming along that connecting link, but sometimes I can ask a question and get an answer from him.

The first time I ever did it was I was very curious about how their spacecraft work, and I asked him, can you just give me some kind of an idea of what the principles are? And I got this download. That happened in like a split second, but it took me about three hours to write it all out.

So, this is how information is transferred telepathically—it’s just suddenly all there. It takes time to unspool into our language, but more often than not, my interactions with him will take place during the channelings, because while he’s talking to you or sending thoughts that are translated through my brain into our language for answering whatever questions people have, I can also have a separate conversation with him and talk about what I want to talk about or ask him what I want to ask.

It’s an interesting sort of altered state in which we can communicate independently, but more often than not, he’s given us the information that allows me to guide myself, because that’s the idea.

I’ve learned how they function by being exposed to his energy coming through, and I’ve started applying the information in my life in such a way that it allows me to access what I need when I need to. So, I’ve learned to do that in much the same way that they are doing it, and therefore, I don’t necessarily have to go running to him to get my answers anymore so much.

He’s always there if I need it, but it’s more about letting me understand how I can access what I need on my own, because that’s really what he’s here to teach all of us—how do we access what we need on our own.

Darryl Anka - Awakened MagazineHow has your ability to sync and connect, as you described with your hands earlier, evolved since you started channeling? Did it take time to get into that zone, and how is it different now?

Darryl Anka: For the first couple of years, I wasn’t used to the energy at all, and it had certain side effects. It made me feel sometimes like I was coming down with a flu, or I would have a very strong pain in the back of my neck. All these symptoms went away as soon as I started to actually do the channeling. But for the first couple of years, I would always get these bizarre symptoms because a lot of it is getting used to the higher frequency that they represent and getting my nervous system used to handling that kind of energy.

But after a couple of years, it started to actually sort of buoy me up and energize me, and now it leaves me with much more energy, more balanced. So, as I have gotten more used to the idea of his energy, it’s sort of given me the opportunity to allow for more blending to occur, for me to become more my version of him in this reality. And as I upgrade my own vibration, then the channeling has gotten easier and easier, and also it allows more of his consciousness to come through.

A lot of times, there’s not as much difference now between my personality and his personality, but there used to be quite a lot more difference in the beginning. It was really nothing like me at all in the beginning, and now, in a sense, I’m a little bit more like him. I still have my own personality. It’s still different from him, as anyone can tell when I actually do channel him. He definitely has his own distinct personality that is not me.

Darryl Anka - Awakened MagazineOne of the things we did in the last few years—we made a documentary about my channeling called First Contact, and we wanted to see what’s actually happening in my brain when I channel. So I connected my head to an EEG machine, and we got a baseline of what my brain is doing when I’m my “normal self” and then letting me channel to see what’s going on in the brain that might be different. And we discovered there are quite a few different things going on in the brain that are quite dramatic and, in some cases, according to neuroscience, not even possible—that happened when I actually go into the channeling state.

We have discovered it is a real altered state, and it is an altered state that anyone can get into. When people do what they love to do, when they’re in that zone, they’re not paying attention to the passage of time, so to speak—that’s a channeling state. It’s gamma in the brain, between 40 and 100 cycles per second, and in that state, you can make more associations more quickly, you can synthesize information more efficiently. Certain things turn on and certain things turn off in the brain that allows the brain to function on a much higher level.

One of the things we discovered is that there’s this thing called a set point, which is how you process information. And when you are growing up, you arrive at a certain set point in the way that your brain accesses information that theoretically is not supposed to change during the course of your lifetime once you have arrived at that set point—except unless, you know, you have like massive head trauma or something like that, that can change it.

But what we found out is that when I start channeling, the set point changes in seconds, which is not supposed to be possible. It goes up. And the thing that’s even weirder is not only does it go up when Bashar is “talking,” it goes up even higher when he’s listening, which means he is listening with every possible ounce of his intelligence that he possibly can, so that he’s really picking up on what a person is saying and sensing things from a different level.

We also discovered that there are certain areas of the brain that process a person’s personality, that allow you, in a sense, to be who you are. We discovered during the channeling that those centers of the brain switch off. So if my personality centers have switched off—who’s talking?

There are all these different things that we discovered to prove scientifically that the channeling state is a truly altered state and that, again, everyone does get into that state from time to time in their lives. When they’re just focused on what it is they love to do, they’re in that flow, they’re in that zone, and time seems to be non-existent.

So, that’s what we wanted to do—demystify the concept of channeling, take it out of the woo-woo arena, and just show that this is one of the altered states that humans can achieve and do achieve quite often in their lives. So, it was all very interesting.

How do you handle the fascination with Bashar? How do you decide when to channel and when not to, especially with so many people seeking you out?

Darryl Anka: It has to be a balance. For several years, I was doing quite a lot of traveling and quite a lot of channeling, and, in a sense, I was burning out a little bit. So, I learned very quickly that you have to balance this. I have to have my own life. I have to have time to be myself and pursue the things that I’m interested in, because, also, if I don’t do that, then I’m going to burn out, and I’m not going to be any good for anyone. I’m not going to be able to really continue to channel.

So, you have to get to a point where you realize that it’s not only in service to other people, but it’s also for the channel themselves to be able to ground themselves, balance themselves, apply the information in ways that work for them, so that you are then capable of having the ability and the energy to also channel and serve others as well.

It’s really just about taking time for yourself, living your life, and then, when and where it’s appropriate, having the energy, having the ability and the wherewithal to channel for others and bring information through that also helps others.

Which is one of the more gratifying aspects of the channeling, because people are constantly coming up to me and saying, “You know, I applied Bashar’s information in this situation in my life, and it really made a big difference, and I’m much happier now.” And that’s very gratifying, and that’s the reason I continue to do the channeling—people say the information works.

And that’s what I was saying earlier—it’s not really about whether you believe Bashar is real, whether he’s an extraterrestrial, or whether I’m tapping into something that’s a level of my own consciousness. It’s an altered state. We’ve proven it’s an altered state, demonstrated that, and the information that comes through has proven itself to be real in the sense that it does actually make a difference when you apply it in your life.

Bashar explains how reality works, explains how energy works. Very clearly, he gives us literally like an instruction manual for, “This is how you create the reality that you prefer.” And by applying it in my own life, I know it works, and by again receiving the feedback from other people when they also apply it precisely—that it works in their lives—that, to me, is the only proof that’s really important: the information itself makes a difference.

Can you share some basic principles of how reality works from Bashar’s perspective?

Darryl Anka: The fundamental principle that he talks about is what we refer to and what he refers to as the formula, which is a five-step process basically.

In a very, very brief nutshell, the first step is to act on your passion—the things that are really exciting to you. Because passion, from his point of view, is your body’s translation of the messages coming from your soul, from your higher mind, from your non-physical self. And that’s how we translate those messages in this sensation we call passion, excitement, creativity, and love. And it’s your soul telling you, “Look, this is you. Act on this next. This is the next stepping stone on your path.” That’s why you’re so excited about it. That’s why this opportunity comes with so much excitement in it.

Act on it physically to the best you possibly can, taking it as far as you can until you can take it no further, or until the excitement wanes. As long as you make sure that you’re not the one killing the excitement with your beliefs, your fears, so on and so forth. So it has to wane naturally, and when it does, you look for the next thing that contains more passion, more excitement—even just a little bit more than anything else. Even if it’s an ordinary thing, and if you have an ability to act on it, you act on it next.

And you keep doing this so that synchronicity can show you the order in which you need to do these things. Because that’s the organizing principle. And when you act on your passion to the best you can, you have to do so with absolutely no insistence, no assumption as to what the outcome should look like, because you really don’t know what the ideal outcome needs to look like. A lot of times, we assume we know, and it’s okay to use a symbol or a representation of an ideal outcome to get us into that excited state, but we have to drop the picture because we don’t know for a fact that what our physical mind was capable of envisioning is actually the best possible thing.

But the higher mind knows what we really need. So if we use the image, use the visualization to get into the excited state, but then drop any insistence or assumption on the picture, then we’re making space for the higher mind to bring us what we really need next, which could actually be many times better than our physical mind was capable of imagining.

As Bashar says, what to the physical mind may seem like the ceiling, to the higher mind is just the floor, and it can go way up from there.

So, you act on your passion. You take it as far as you can until you can take it no further. You do this with absolutely no insistence, no assumption as to what the outcome should look like.

Step four is you stay in a positive state, no matter what happens. Even if something manifests that you don’t really objectively prefer—it’s not vibrationally compatible with who you are or who you prefer to be—it’s still there for a reason. That’s why it manifested, and you can get an advantage from that, get a benefit from it, if you stay in a positive state and say, “Okay, I’m curious.”

Approach it with curiosity. Why did this happen this way? What can I learn from it? What’s the lesson here that can help me? If nothing else, manifesting something you don’t prefer makes it much clearer by contrast what you do prefer. And that’s what we were talking about earlier, about all the chaos going on and divisiveness—we’re getting a very clear picture of, “This is what we don’t prefer,” so that, by contrast, we can understand what direction to go in that represents what we do prefer.

That’s step four.

Step five, constantly examine and investigate your belief systems and let go of the negative ones, the fear-based ones. Those are usually ones that are out of alignment with who you truly are, out of alignment with your core vibration.

So—acting on your passion, taking it as far as you can, no insistence, no assumption, staying in a positive state, examining your beliefs and letting go of the negative ones—is the five steps of what he calls the formula. That literally functions like an instruction manual for how you live your best possible life.

When you act on those five principles precisely, take those five steps precisely, all sorts of things start happening. Like I said, the magic of synchronicity opens up, becomes the path of least resistance in your life, the path that connects you to all sorts of things that are relevant for you. It supports you in whatever way, shape, or form you need to be supported.

And it is the path of relevance and reflectivity that shows you, as you’re acting on your excitement, if there’s any belief you’re holding onto unconsciously that might be out of alignment with that excitement, so you can bring it to your attention, you can figure out why you’re holding onto it or why you’ve been holding onto it, and let it go and add that energy to the momentum of your excitement, of your joy, of your passion.

So, it’s a very straightforward, very simple—literally like an instruction manual for how things work. And when you apply it precisely and consistently, you get all sorts of magical things happening in your life that are really beneficial and really positive.

And that’s his fundamental message: “This is how reality works. Let me show you. Here’s the kit. Now you have something practical you can use to get an effect.”

It’s not left out in the ethers, it’s not left in the woo-woo arena. It’s like, “This is a practical guide for how things actually manifest in your physical reality. Apply it, and you’ll see the results.”

It’s that simple. That’s his fundamental message.

Darryl Anka - Awakened MagazineWhat role does love play in Bashar’s view of our existence?

Darryl Anka: From his point of view, what we call unconditional love is the actual frequency of existence itself—it is the frequency of creation. We translate that as this idea we call unconditional love.

So, it’s the foundation of everything. It’s the ultimate vibration. It’s what allows things to work. It’s what allows things to flow, to move forward. Everything, in a sense, is done from love, but there can be the positive and the negative side of it. There’s the positive side, which we consider to be love. There’s the negative side, which we basically experience as fear.

Even though someone might be steeped in fear, it’s still because they’re trying to express the idea of love, but they may not have been trained to understand how to do that in a positive way. In that case, then, fear will take over. They will still try to reach out, they will still try to, shall we say, control their reality experience, but in a way that isn’t necessarily beneficial for them or anyone else.

When you’re operating out of the fear side, then it’s like you’re acting in a disconnected way. You don’t understand how to use the positive side of love to make connection, community, communion, so on and so forth. You do it from the fear side, which feels like disconnection, discontinuity, chaos, so on and so forth.

But it’s all steeped in the idea of wanting to connect, wanting to be part of something, wanting to belong, knowing that you are part of creation. It’s just that one side is done with the knowledge that you are, and one side is done without the knowledge that you are, and that’s why it’s expressed as fear as opposed to love.

Darryl Anka - Awakened Magazine

How has your connection with Bashar impacted your marriage and relationship dynamic?

Darryl Anka: We’ve been together for 40 years – as long as I’ve been channeling. We’re both very spiritually oriented. She’s been familiar with my channeling from the very beginning, and it allows us to understand how to communicate more clearly. Communication really is the key to a lasting relationship—how we serve each other, how we reflect to each other what we need to know to be more of who we each are, which is what all relationships are for, according to what Bashar’s talked about.

So, because we’re willing to understand that, a lot of times, whatever might bug a person about something is usually never the deeper issue behind it. Usually, we can understand how to see past the surface irritations and go—That’s not really what this is all about. It’s something deeper. What’s the deeper fundamental issue that we’re looking at here? What is the fundamental wish that we are attempting to fulfill within ourselves?

It usually comes down to, again, some of the things that I was just talking about, where it’s like—you feel disconnected, you feel you don’t belong, you don’t feel heard, you don’t feel loved, you don’t feel like you are being taken seriously. So a lot of what people get caught up in has more to do with those things than it does with anything that they actually are arguing about.

We’ve learned how to get past the surface issue very quickly and start looking at—What’s the fundamental reason why we might react the way that we’re reacting to something? What is it triggering within us that is missing, that we’re not giving ourselves? And we help each other with that.

Now, that doesn’t really happen much anymore because we’ve learned that that’s really what it’s all about, and therefore, we have done a lot of filling of those empty holes within ourselves over the years so that we don’t really have those issues anymore. I mean, even from the beginning, we very rarely argued, and now, basically, it just comes down to having a discussion—Let’s talk about this. What am I feeling? What are you feeling? Why are you feeling that? Is it a belief that you’re holding on to? Is the belief really true? Is it not true?

Bashar’s information has really helped us understand, again, how psychology works—how we get at the root and the cause of anything that might seem to be throwing us off very quickly so that we can get to—Okay, you know, this is happening because I’m holding on to this. Why am I holding on to this? Because I think it’s serving me. Is it really serving me? No, not really. What’s the alternative? How can we better move forward?

All those kinds of things are just now automatic in our conversations. So it’s really helped a lot to have the information that Bashar has shared with us about why humans do what they do, why we choose to believe what we believe, and how all of that psychologically actually works within us, within our personalities. And it’s been extremely helpful in terms of learning how to communicate in ways that are far more constructive and far more positive and allow us to move forward and support each other in, you know, more positive ways.

You recently said, “We’re not seeing each other directly but creating our own versions of each other in our reality.” How does that apply to marriage and humanity as a whole?

Darryl Anka: We have to understand, first and foremost, that we’re not physical beings—we’re non-physical beings, we’re non-physical consciousness. All of this is a projection.

Somewhere within our soul, we’re creating this experience that we call physical reality. This is happening within our consciousness, and therefore, what I represent myself as, what you represent yourself as, is a projection. It’s a representation of the ideas, the beliefs, the themes that you’re exploring. But I’m seeing my version of that.

We’re agreeing, all of us that experience each other, that there are entities here who are independent souls, independent entities, but we’re seeing our version of what we need to see of each other. Now, it may be very similar, but it’s probably not absolutely identical to what you think of yourself, in terms of what I’m seeing of you, and you’re probably not seeing exactly what I think of myself.

And we can even use what we’re doing right now as an example—in the sense that, technologically, you’re not seeing me. You’re seeing a recreation of my image that has been rendered into electronic signals and reconstituted into images. So you don’t really even know if the image you’re looking at is the image that I am exactly looking at of myself, and vice versa.

So, physical reality is this one-step-removed idea because it’s all happening within our consciousness, it’s all happening within our souls, and therefore, we’re seeing the version of each other that we need to see, that is representative of our beliefs, our filters—whatever it is that needs to be reflected to us so that we can get the reflections we need to learn more about who we are, more about how we can serve each other, rather than what we might literally be needing to see.

If we were able to perceive ourselves more directly, we would just see ourselves as energy, vibrational patterns of consciousness. So that’s really what it’s all about.

Is this idea that physical reality is a simulation, like a holographic projection? Yes, it is, but it’s our simulation, and therefore, we color it with our beliefs, we color it with our filters, with what we need to see in order to get what we need, and vice versa.

So, I don’t know that I’m actually “seeing you as you see yourself.” I’m seeing you as I need to see you. It might be very close to how you see yourself, but it may not be identical.

Darryl Anka - Awakened Magazine

For those who are learning to channel, what encouragement or suggestions would you have?

Darryl Anka: Do remember that there are many forms of channeling, and things like writing books and making films and things that connect to other people is a form of channeling. You’re channeling your creativity, you’re channeling yourself.

The idea of channeling as being done in the specific way in which we’re now talking about, where we’re connecting to something higher and bringing through information that serves other people, is a specific style of channeling. But all those creative acts are forms of being in the channeling state.

In terms of doing it specifically the way we’re talking about it now—the way Bashar comes through, and whatever it is that you are connecting to to bring through information that serves people—I find that it’s easier to practice if you actually have people around you that are asking questions they need to know the answers to.

It sort of functions like electricity, in the sense that it needs to be grounded in the person asking the question. So it’s like if someone is asking a question they have a great need to find out the answer to, it’s like their need pulls the information through you to them, and you can just get out of the way.

You can just be the conduit, and you go into a state of being where you are just being of service. Whatever comes through, you’re being of service to that person. So you can just kind of not think about it, just get out of the way, just see what you get, knowing that it’s going to serve them somehow.

And when a person asks that question, it’s like an electric current going through you into them and grounding into them, so that, again, you don’t have to really think about it.

Now, can you get into a channeling state and get information for yourself? Sure, of course you can. But a lot of times then you’re thinking about it, and you’re wondering, Well, is this my imagination? You know, what am I getting?

But when someone else asks the question, you can kind of more get out of the way and just let whatever comes through, come through. And the more you practice, you know, the better you get at it, like anything. It’s like playing a musical instrument. Right? You are the instrument.

So, I’d say it’s easier if you are willing to actually take the step of letting people who need answers to their questions ask those questions. Gather your friends around or some strangers, whatever, and just have them help you practice that idea of being of service to them in whatever way, shape, or form it happens.

And you have to, like, not care what you’re getting. You have to just know that it’s going to be helpful, or it’s going to be nothing. And that’s got to be okay, ’cause you’re practicing.

You can always put that disclaimer out—Look, I’m practicing. I don’t know what I’m going to get. Let’s just see what happens. It may serve you, it may not. You may understand it, you may not. You may understand it 10 years from now. You may not understand it today. It may be nonsensical. I’m just practicing here, so you’re giving me an opportunity to get into the state I need to get into to be of service to you. And whatever comes through is whatever comes through.

And you have to understand that whatever people do with the information that you share with them is none of your business, because you don’t know what their path is.

So, you have to let go of the idea that they have to be cured by this, be helped by this. You just have to let all of that go.

You have to let go of the idea that you look ridiculous or silly or sound crazy. You have to let it all go in order to actually just be an open conduit for whatever will come through, because the overriding energy is—I am doing this to be of service. Whatever comes through is what needs to come through, because you don’t really know why this person is asking this question.

Sometimes a person will ask a question to prove they can’t be helped because that’s their agenda, and they may not even be aware they have that agenda. So sometimes if you don’t get anything, that may be exactly what they were asking for.

Or you may find that it is simply not appropriate for that information to come through at that time, either for them at this time because they have something else to work out, or in a group, sometimes it’s not appropriate for information to come through if that information should be done privately for that single person.

So, there are many, many reasons why information is delivered. There are many reasons why information is not accessed.

And so that’s why you have to just kind of let it all go and really trust the way the mechanism works. And the easiest thing to do is just get into the state of saying, I’m here to be of service. Whatever happens, happens. It’s for the good of all. It’s for the benefit of all. That’s my general overall, overarching energy. Therefore, whatever happens is what needs to happen.

End of story.

Masterclass Boom. Just so good, so helpful, so great. So when people call you out in public, “Hey, Bashar…”

Darryl Anka: I’ll answer to that.

How do you handle that? Did you have an identity crisis in the early days?

Darryl Anka: No, it doesn’t bother me, it’s okay. I understand that they’re connecting to that energy, and that’s fine. And again, because there’s more blending going on now, and I’m becoming more my version of him, in a sense, here on Earth, I know how to give classes and lectures as myself for the stuff I do understand, and I can get into my own channeling state without channeling him.

I can just get into that flow, and I can just talk about this stuff for hours. So at this point, 40 years later, that doesn’t matter.

The idea is—the word Bashar is an Arabic word. It means messenger. So I’ll respond to that. It doesn’t matter, whatever they want to call me, so it doesn’t bother me.

Do you personally watch others or listen to other channels and if so, what are you most intrigued by?

Darryl Anka: I have, but it’s something I don’t do often because the energy—when another channel goes into the altered state, it’s almost hypnotic, and I almost find myself… I have to hold myself out of that state because it’s very conducive to me going into that state as well.

And again, you know, I am focused on the things that I am focused on in my life. I don’t really have time to listen to my own recordings. I don’t have a lot of time to listen to other people’s recordings. Now and then, if it seems like it’s something important, my attention will be drawn to it. Bashar will turn my attention to it, but it’s a rare thing, and I just assume everyone has their own idea of how they need to deliver this information to be of service.

The only thing I ever say to anyone in terms of listening to any channel, including myself, is, look, if the information works for you, it allows you to become self-empowered and allows you to do things in a positive, constructive, loving, creative way, then use whatever works for you and leave the rest behind.

If it’s something that’s trying to control, something that insists on—you have to do it this way, or it’s not going to work, or anything like that, or this is the only path, and things will go wrong if you don’t do it my way—I would tend to say avoid all of that. You get to decide what works for you and what doesn’t work for you, even in my own stuff. Just don’t worry about it.

Everyone has their own path. Everyone has their own team of spirit guides and angelic beings and soul family that is helping to guide them. We’re never alone. We’re never left alone in that sense. We are left alone to be ourselves. We are helped to be ourselves. We’re not intervened or interfered with, but nevertheless, we always have help, and we always have a team. So everyone is fine. You know, everyone will be fine.

Where would you encourage people to start connecting with Bashar’s teachings?

Darryl Anka: Bashar.org has a lot of the recordings that already have been done. We do a monthly event on Zoom, and all the schedule will be there for what we do and the different subjects that Bashar talks about. He answers a lot of questions during these monthly Zoom events.

Now and then, we will travel to other places, like Sedona and Colorado, for specific events. We will actually be, I think for the first time in a long time, on the East Coast in New Jersey on June 14th. So all of these dates, all of these sessions and events, whether they’re on Zoom or whether they’re live, are usually posted at Bashar.org.

Darryl Anka - Awakened MagazineYou also have Boggled Escape Rooms in Calabasas, California. What inspired you to create it?

Darryl Anka: Well, coming out of filmmaking, we were looking to do something that was more consistent than filmmaking but used a lot of the same skill sets—building sets, making props, telling stories. And we were originally talking about doing one of those annual haunted houses, because they’re very popular. But we wanted something to do all year long.

And so somebody said, well, you know, why don’t you look into doing an escape room? And we kind of said, well, what’s that? And so we started doing our research. We did several escape rooms. We said this is a perfect segue coming from the film industry that would allow us to have an ongoing business, that’s an annual business.

So, yeah, we have been open now for about two years. We have one adventure called The Key of Destiny, which is sort of Egyptian-based, and we’ve just recently opened another one called Paradox, which is like someone in an adventure that is trying to defeat a rogue AI that’s trying to take over the world. We’re working on our third adventure now, called The Ghost of Blackstone Manor, where you have to use magical spells to remove a curse that has trapped a spirit in an old Victorian house. And we’re also working on a fourth adventure for kids 10 and under, called Monkey Shines, which allows young, young kids to be able to come and do something that’s fun as well.

So, escape rooms are a lot of fun. You go into an environment that’s created physically for you, that is presented as a different kind of environment, where you have to find clues and solve puzzles to be able to get through that environment within a certain amount of time, like an hour.

Escape rooms are still a growing form of entertainment, and we’re very excited about a lot of the stuff that we’re doing and the stuff that’s coming up, that we’re building, and so, yeah, it’s a lot of fun. Plus, it’s an extremely educational business to be in, in terms of watching what people do, in terms of how they solve puzzles, how they solve problems. It’s fascinating, the different approaches that people will take when you’re guiding them and watching them.

We’ll give them hints and clues if they ask for them, but there are people that come up with clever ways of solving things that we never even considered, and it’s actually caused us to sometimes change a lot of the puzzles to make sure that they can’t circumvent them or get around them, just because people think of things that we never thought of.

So, it’s a fascinating business to be in. So, yeah, we invite people to come and play.

Will there ever be a Bashar escape room?

Darryl Anka: I don’t know. We’ll have to see how that goes.

I think that would be awesome. People would love that! Darryl, thank you so much for just sharing your story, your wealth of wisdom, your experiences. I really appreciate it, thank you.

Darryl Anka: I deeply appreciate the opportunity to share this with everyone through your channel, so thank you so much for having this particular outlet. It makes a big difference. So thank you for the work that you do, too, and thank you for having me on today.
