I am always perplexed by the fears and negative words we speak over our lives during our hard times, struggles, and difficult seasons in life. Yes, we are living in turbulent times, and fear of the unknown is very understandable. However, could it be that hard times build our spiritual muscles? For those who consider themselves “gym rats”. This comparison is relatable. When we enter the gym to transform our physique and build muscles, it can be very difficult yet rewarding. There is a strict gym schedule, a list of exercises, and a meal plan that must be followed and completed.

What are spiritual muscles? I am glad you asked. Our spiritual muscles are faith, hope, patience, strength, peace, endurance, etc. On the other hand, hard times are necessary for us to experience the breakthrough phase, and we will be well-equipped to flex our spiritual muscles by helping others, through empathy, kindness, inspiration, encouragement, motivation, mentorship, prayers, etc.

We must focus on the results of the breakthrough phase even in the valley of hard times because through life’s rain, flowers grow, and the moon is bright when it doesn’t avoid the night.
