Chakras and Their Colors
Each chakra can be identified by its placement within the body and a corresponding color. Many of the more contemporary yogic-centered readings discuss the chakra colors as arbitrary color assignments that are more for identification purposes than metaphysical qualities. There have even been claims that the color chart assignment was developed by an Englishman, and it was subsequently adopted by the masses. However, there are many reputable psychics, both past and present, who have seen these colors in the assigned locations within the body and the auric field surrounding it. Many psychics discuss how they utilize the colors of the chakras as a diagnostic tool for identifying imbalances within the body or energetic field. By observing the color of each chakra, they are able to gauge its vitality. The emanations of color from the chakras extend out from the body and become integrated into what is referred to as the auric field. The colors contained within the auric field and chakras are used as gauges of vitality or imbalance within the body’s energetic field.
Since I opted to present my chakra images in the order they were created, I will provide the name of each chakra and its correct color reference here: 1st chakra—Root (Muladhara) is Red, the 2nd chakra—Sacral (Svadhisthana) is Orange, the 3rd chakra—Solar Plexus (Manipura) is Yellow, the 4th chakra—Heart (Anahata) is Green, the 5th chakra—Throat (Vishuddha)—is Cerulean Blue, the 6th chakra—Third Eye (Ajna)—is a deep Blue, or Purple, and the 7th chakra—Crown (Sahasrara)—is either Purple or White. [1] In my experience, the most common colors appear to be Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cerulean Blue, Blue, and Purple (respectively). [A1]
The Gates also have their own corresponding names and color associations as identified by psychics and some Reiki practitioners. The Gates are listed as follows: 8th Gate—Soul Star or Halo is fern Green, the 9th Gate—Spirit Star is Turquoise, the 10th Gate—Universal Chakra is Pearl White, the 11th Gate—Galactic Chakra is Pink-Orange or Violet-Grey with Silver, the 12th Gate—Divine or Stellar Gateway is Gold or shimmering multi-colored energy, and the Monad—Higher-Self point is a bright white light.[2] The Earth Chakra—Earth Star is composed of deep, rich reds and browns that make it appear almost black.

Chakras in Daily Life
Although the chakras exist at the energetic level, or what is often referred to as the light or subtle body, their effects can be felt and recognized within the denser energies that fall within the spectrum of physical reality. Science has recently advanced enough to verify that our bodies do emit light, even if it is unable to separate this light into its various parts and sources. Some significant headway has been made through the quantum science studies of Dr. Joe Dispenza. His team has located pockets of energy that are separated throughout the auric field. These pockets can be brought back into the body and into coherence using various techniques.[3] These techniques are parallel to those spoken of in various sacred texts that address cultivating the chakras and other mystical or metaphysical practices. I am fully persuaded that this light, this energy, is that of the chakras. Science has been its own religion for many years now, and it is now moving closer to the spirituality and insights that are assumed to be common knowledge among the psychic and metaphysical communities.
I point this out because my personal spiritual quest has always been about the development of more practical approaches to spirituality. Deep mystical encounters and peak experiences are a necessary part of a developing spirituality, but it is essential that we find ways to unpack those experiences and apply their insights in ways that will help us to live much richer daily lives. The chakras are no exception. There are many ways in which the chakras can be used to enhance every aspect of our physical being, and in doing so, enrich the quality of our lives. Although the chakras exist on higher energetic planes, their effects can be felt and recognized both physically and psychospiritually. By working to enhance, clarify, and distribute this energy, we can achieve remarkably positive changes.
The energy of the chakras is integrated with every aspect of our being. Each chakra is associated with specific organs and systems within the body, as well as certain emotions and psychological states. For the sake of clarity, it is easiest to gauge the health of our chakras by categorizing them in one of three states: blocked, balanced, or overactive. Each state expresses various traits that can alert us to imbalances related to that particular chakra. Of course, all of us hope that our chakras remain in the “balanced” state, but we do have the power to help correct those that have become unbalanced. By learning the traits related to a specific chakra, we can use this knowledge as signposts that can guide us toward a better understanding of which chakra is in need of support and balancing.
