Can a Kundalini awakening lead someone back to Jesus?
At five years old, Val Tignini sat in church staring at Jesus on the cross…and began to cry. She couldn’t understand why anyone would place such a painful image on the wall.
As she grew older, Val continued searching for God. She heard a voice answer her prayers, witnessed a mysterious ball of light outside her bedroom window, and sensed that she had a purpose. But fear eventually caused her to shut down that part of herself and walk away from God.
Years later, Val appeared to have everything she wanted. Her online platform was growing, the BBC had taken notice, and she was featured in a television series. Yet beneath that success, she felt deeply unhappy.
Then one spiritual gathering changed everything.
During a powerful Kundalini awakening, Val says she encountered Yeshua, who told her, “I never left you.” That moment awakened her healing gifts and began a journey involving Mary Magdalene, motherhood, mystical experiences, and a surprising return to church.

I want to hear about your journey of awakening. I know there’s a specific date and a specific experience, and I want to dive into that. But first, I’d like to hear about your childhood, because it often shapes who we are spiritually and what we experience. Did you grow up in a religious family? Did you talk about spirituality at all?
Val Tignini: Yes. I grew up in an Italian Catholic household. We weren’t particularly churchgoing; we didn’t attend church every Sunday, but we received all the sacraments. I went to catechism classes, and religion was important in our home. We spoke about Jesus, celebrated the religious holidays, and had religious symbols throughout the house. It was definitely a traditional Italian upbringing.
You probably had a cross around your neck, I’m guessing.
Val Tignini: Of course. I was a very curious child. I remember sitting in church with my grandmother for some occasion, looking at Yeshua being crucified, and suddenly beginning to cry. My grandmother asked, “Why are you crying?” I said, “Why would they put this on the walls? Why would they show him crucified?”
How old were you at the time?
Val Tignini: I was about five. Of course, my grandmother didn’t have an answer. She had grown up in Italy, so her response was essentially, “What do you mean? This is normal.”
Throughout my childhood, when I went to catechism classes, they would tell us, “This is how you call upon God.” There was all this dogma: you had to say a particular prayer, make the sign of the cross, and follow certain rituals. I was always the rebellious one who would say, “No, I have direct access to God. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Their response was, “Blasphemy. Get out.” And I did.
I spoke to God in my own way, as if He were my best friend. Every night, I would say, “God, whoever You may be, I just want to hear You. I just want to see You—just once.” Maybe my faith was weak; I don’t really remember that part. What I do remember is asking, every single night, “I just want to hear You. I just want to see You.”
Then one day, when I was around ten, I heard, “I’m here.” I immediately said, “No, no, no. No more.” I became so frightened that I shut it all down. I practically became an atheist at that point because I was scared and thought it might have been in my head. I became very disillusioned with the whole idea of trying to connect with God and went completely in the opposite direction.
I didn’t want to connect at all. I stopped believing in Jesus and began wondering whether Jesus had simply been a magician. Then I went to university, and that seemed to confirm it for me.
But during that period, while my faith was weakening, I had a very interesting experience. I looked out my bedroom window and saw an enormous, bright light in a friend’s backyard about seven houses away. I thought, “Why are they having a party in the middle of the week, on a school night? And why wasn’t I invited?” I couldn’t understand what I was seeing, but I felt incredibly drawn to the light.
Suddenly, the light rose into the air and zoomed directly in front of my window. It was about the size of a BOSU exercise ball. It didn’t appear to have any solid physical structure; it was simply a ball of light. It moved around my window, and I could feel energy emanating from it. I was enthralled, thinking, “Whoa, what is that?” Then it simply disappeared.
I ran to my mother’s room. I think I was around eleven years old and in sixth grade at the time. I said, “Mom, I think I just saw a UFO.” She responded, “What? Okay, that’s great, honey. Go back to bed.” I don’t think she necessarily believed or disbelieved me; I think she was simply exhausted because it was the middle of the night.
Did you ever talk about it again?
Val Tignini: No. But during that same year, I had several other unusual experiences. My sister was also having experiences of her own. She would see what looked like holograms of Mother Mary above her head, and we kept wondering, “What is this? What is happening?”
A couple of months later, she told me, “I felt something blowing very strongly into my ear. I don’t know what it was.” That very night, I had the same experience. We thought perhaps it was a ghost, not that I necessarily believed in ghosts, but how else could both of us have experienced the same thing?
As I grew older, I always felt very different from everyone else. I could sense a great deal of energy from people, and I often felt isolated because of how I thought and what I believed. I was going through a lot, but I always felt I had a purpose in this world and needed to follow it.
I continued listening to that inner voice. Just before I graduated from high school, I heard a voice telling me that I needed to create a website for women. It was very specific, and a particular name kept coming to me: “Shah.” I didn’t even know what it meant, but the voice kept saying, “Name it Shah. Shah.com.” This was in 1997.

This reminds me of Wayne’s World. Have you seen that movie where they keep saying, “Shah”?
Val Tignini: Yes, although I don’t remember that part. I’ll have to watch it again! Interestingly, I later discovered that the term “Shah” had a connection to the feminine and the divine feminine.
I found a couple of kids who knew how to code and design and said, “Let’s build this website. It’s going to be an online magazine for women.” Of course, they were two boys who were seventeen or eighteen years old, and they spent most of their time playing hacky sack in my basement. We got nowhere, so we put the project on hold.
Then, ten years later, I felt the same pull again, the exact same pull: Build an online platform for women. I eventually expanded the idea to include children, too. That became ValSecrets.com.
My brother came up with the name. I tried to humble myself throughout the process because I felt that everything unfolding in my life had already been chosen for me. I thought, “Let somebody else choose the name.” Without fully realizing it, I turned the creation of the website into a spiritual experience.
The website really took off. It grew so quickly that the BBC became interested in both me and the platform. They approached me about creating a documentary—or a docuseries—around Val Secrets, and I said, “Okay.”
What kinds of articles were you posting?
Val Tignini: It was an online platform where women could post videos and blogs. We were among the first of our kind. This was before TikTok and Instagram, and YouTube existed but was still in its early stages. We launched on April 9, 2008, and the platform did incredibly well.
We called our main contributors “neighbors.” They shared content on all kinds of subjects: how to cook dinner for your family, how to build a business, and how to create a nonprofit. I even had professional baseball players contributing. It was an amazing experience because I met so many people who genuinely wanted to give back. Everything was heart-centered, and people could feel that.
Once it began growing, everything happened at lightning speed. Within about a year, we were already filming a docuseries in Alabama called Bama Belles, which aired on TLC.
You were one of the cast members, and the show featured women with different lifestyles. Help me understand its premise.
Val Tignini: Yes. It followed a group of women with very different lifestyles, although I was probably the most different. There was one woman from North Dakota, three women from Alabama, and then me. It was essentially East meets South: a New York City woman is thrown into the South.
I spoke about Val Secrets and all the events I was organizing, and then I found myself in a place where people spent their weekends riding go-karts, having barbecues, and wearing cowboy boots and cowboy hats. I dressed differently and came from a completely different environment. The show highlighted all those contrasting lifestyles.
By the third episode, on December 12, 2010—the day of my awakening—the show was canceled. The third episode aired, but they canceled it that same day. Everyone called me and asked, “Are you upset? Are you upset?” I said, “No, I’m not.”
Because you had this experience, December 12, 2010, is clearly a very important date for you. I watched the video you posted about a week afterward, and we’ll link to it because it’s such a wonderful record of what you had just experienced. I’m so glad you kept it online because it’s incredibly raw. It’s long, but it’s so good, and it has so many views.
Val Tignini: Do you know why it has so many views? Because I was the first person to do that.
The first to post about it?
Val Tignini: There was nobody else. I scoured the internet, and no one else was sharing their Kundalini awakening on YouTube.
Take us to that date. Why did you go to the event? What was the event, and what happened? Walk us through it, but first, tell us about your mindset going into it.
Val Tignini: I remember that day as if it were yesterday. I had just broken up with my fiancé, whom I had been living with. I didn’t fully understand why I needed to end the relationship; I just knew I had to. It was that whole “It’s not you, it’s me” conversation.
So many changes were happening in my life. I had to move out of our apartment, so I moved back in with my parents while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do. From the outside, I appeared to be on top of the world, yet I was deeply unhappy, and I couldn’t understand why.
I thought, “I can’t drag this person through whatever I’m experiencing. I need to figure out what’s going on with me.” I felt as though I kept hitting walls, even though I was supposed to be elated. Every goal I had dreamed of achieving as a child was coming true, yet I was still unhappy. I kept asking myself, “What’s wrong with me?” I even began to feel physically ill because I couldn’t understand it.
Then I received a message from someone who lived in my apartment building. He wasn’t really a friend; I think we had only said hello once or twice. He wrote, “Come to this event. It’s a spiritual event. Here’s the link. I think you’ll enjoy it.” That was all he said.
I clicked the link and went to the healer’s website. I immediately felt something, but I closed the website and walked away from it. Later, I told my mother and sister, “I’m going to this event in New York City. Would you like to come?” They looked at me and asked, “What is it?” I said, “It’s a spiritual event.” My mother and sister had always been curious about that kind of thing, so they agreed to come.
The event was being held in a dance studio. I had seen that studio many times before because I used to go to a nearby gym and could look through a large, beautiful loft window into the space. I remember thinking, “I would love to dance there.” Little did I know that it was no longer being used exclusively as a dance studio; they were renting it out for different events.
Before my spiritual awakening, I had even worked on a film with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in that exact room. The space already held some history for me, but I had no idea what was about to happen there. It became the setting for the most amazing day of my life.

Alan Steinfeld and Val Tignini.
You filmed in that same room? Wow.
Val Tignini: Yes. For some reason, I was nervous when I arrived, although I didn’t understand why. I remember looking around the room through that critical New York City lens and thinking, “These people look strange. What am I doing here? Some of them have holes in their socks.” I was judging everything, probably because I was most critical of myself. I’m sure a lot of fear was also beginning to surface, and that was how my mind registered it.
But once I was inside the room, all the noise in my mind went silent. The healer’s name was Abdy. He had come to New York for this event at the invitation of Alan Steinfeld, who was organizing many events for healers at that time. Alan was definitely fulfilling his dharma through that work.
Abdy was a mysterious kind of healer. He never told you exactly what was going to happen, and I’m sure he still works that way today. When I saw him, I felt an immediate sense of recognition, although I didn’t understand it.
He said, “You may receive a gift. Some of you may receive it, and some of you may not. Whatever happens, just allow it to happen.” I thought, “All right. Whatever that means, let it be.”
He began walking around the room, touching a few people. Then he came to me.
Was music playing? Was there an entire atmosphere surrounding what was happening?
Val Tignini: Yes, music was playing. It wasn’t a typical yoga studio; it was a very raw, open dance space. Abdy approached only a few people, and I think I was the fourth person he came to.
He asked me to stand, and when I did, I automatically placed my hands over my heart. He blew onto my face, and I immediately closed my eyes and fell backward. I can still feel the energy now as I talk about it.
Today, I firmly call it the Holy Spirit because that is what I believe it was. At the time, however, I had no idea what to call it. This energy rose through my feet, and my legs began shaking. I felt an intense, burning heat moving upward through my legs. They started shaking even more forcefully, striking the floor over and over again.
Were you still having conscious thoughts at this point? Were you wondering what was happening?
Val Tignini: Of course. You know those thoughts very well, David: “What the hell is happening to me right now? This is so embarrassing. Everyone must think I’m crazy.” Those thoughts were absolutely going through my mind.
But I’ve skipped what might be the most important part. As the energy rose and my whole body shook, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. My eyes had been closed the entire time, but I briefly opened them and looked around. No one was there. I looked to my left, and my sister was lying beside me, but no one was close enough to have tapped my shoulder.
As the energy continued rising, it reached my first chakra. That was when the real magic began. The involuntary movement was already extraordinary, but when the energy began moving through my chakras, it took me somewhere else entirely. I had never felt anything like it.
When the energy reached that first chakra, I saw my birth. I saw the painful experiences I had endured as a child, the things that had hurt me, damaged me, and changed who I inherently was as a soul. It was as if God or the universe was showing me those experiences and healing them as I moved through them. It felt very much like a death.
When the energy moved into my second chakra, I saw experiences with people who had hurt me, including boyfriends who had broken my heart. I also saw experiences I had never truly wanted but had allowed because I was engaging in self-damaging behavior.
I cried more than I think I had ever cried in my life. Tears were pouring out of my eyes like floods of water. As the energy moved through my sacral chakra and into my third chakra, I felt it healing an ulcer I had suffered from for many years. It felt like spiritual surgery, as though something were being removed. Of course, I don’t know that anything was literally removed, but it felt like a wet cloth being pulled away. Suddenly, it was gone.
I felt healed. My thoughts changed from fear and embarrassment to exhilaration: “Wow, this energy is amazing. What is happening to me? Am I being physically healed?”
Then the energy moved into my heart, and I felt an extraordinary, endless current of love. At that point, I asked inwardly, “Do I need to open my eyes?” I heard, “Yes.”
I opened my eyes and found myself communicating in my mind with a beautiful, handsome, divine being. It was Yeshua. I asked him, “What are you doing here? I left you so long ago.”
He said, “But I never left you.”
I always cry when I tell this part of the story. My heart exploded into pieces, and for the first time, I experienced oneness.
I said, “Please stay.” He did, and then he began giving me an enormous amount of information. He told me so many things about myself. At one point, he said, “I’m not here to show you what you’ve done wrong to other people, because you weren’t bad to others. I’m showing you what you’ve done wrong to yourself.”
I realized he was right. He showed me so many secrets of the universe. Then, suddenly, a language began coming through me. It was what I now understand as light language or speaking in tongues, but at the time I knew nothing about it.
Had you never even heard of it before? It simply started coming out of you? Were you lying down at this point or sitting up?
Val Tignini: I had never heard of it. I was lying on the ground, and I could see Yeshua above me.

This language was coming out of your mouth. Was Abdy still nearby, or had he moved on to someone else?
Val Tignini: He was moving around the room. Meanwhile, Yeshua was responding to me in the same language. I understood everything he was saying, even though part of my mind was asking, “What language am I speaking? Is it Greek? Is it Aramaic? What is this?”
He was speaking the same language I was speaking, and I understood every word. It’s amazing that you can be fully immersed in an experience like that and still have thoughts running through your mind.
I was in complete awe, but Yeshua was also making me laugh. I don’t think I had ever laughed that hard in my life. He would say, “Do you remember this? Do you remember that? Do you remember how worried you were?” I would answer, “Yes,” and then laugh and laugh.
He showed me the wonder of life. We worry so much, but if we truly trust God, we don’t have to worry. That was where all the laughter came from. Life felt like a divine comedy.
Amazing. The car ride or subway ride home must have been fascinating.
Val Tignini: My mother and sister were extremely worried about me because my body had been contorting. After Yeshua left, the energy continued moving into my third eye and then into my crown chakra. At that point, I experienced what I believed was enlightenment.
As I began coming out of the experience, I didn’t want to return to this reality. I was perfectly content wherever I had been. I was home. I felt that that was heaven, that space of oneness, purity, and wholeness.
As I slowly returned to my body, my sister asked, “What happened to you? I felt like you were possessed, Val.” I said, “I don’t know.” The only word I could find to describe it was nirvana. I didn’t understand what had happened.
When we arrived home, everyone was trying to celebrate the television show airing. My father offered me a glass of champagne and said, “Let’s have a toast.” I told him, “No. Jesus told me I shouldn’t drink anymore.”
He looked at my mother as if to say, “What the hell happened to our daughter?” He was completely confused. My mother told him, “I don’t know. I’ll tell you about it later, but I really don’t know.”
The experience must have seemed very strange to everyone around me. People began saying, “You’re different. Something about you is so different, Val. We don’t know who you are anymore.”
Before that day, I had been very extroverted and outwardly alive. Afterward, I withdrew into myself, and many things changed. But it wasn’t only that single day that transformed me. As you know, my entire life began to feel magical.
The Kundalini energy kept rising within me, and different parts of me kept healing. I began seeing all kinds of energy and angelic beings, and I had so many experiences that I could never fit them all into a book—it would be far too long. Some people might find those stories unbelievable and think, “There’s no way all of that happened to her.” Some experiences are truly difficult to believe.
Thank you so much for sharing that. We’ll link to the video in which you recount the experience so beautifully and so candidly, just days after it happened. How did you begin to nurture this relationship, and the gifts that started emerging within you, over the following months and years?
Val Tignini: I posted the video four days later. As for nurturing the experience, that’s an important question. I believe that when people have awakenings, they need to nurture and integrate them. Otherwise, the intensity can become overwhelming, or they may simply fall back into the life they had before.
The person who invited me to the event eventually became my partner, and we had a child together. He was very knowledgeable about spirituality. His background was in Hinduism, but he had also studied Kabbalah, ancient Egyptian traditions, and many other subjects. He was very well-versed.
He introduced me to Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath, who teaches Kriya Yoga. I began learning about and practicing Kriya Yoga, and then I explored all kinds of other traditions, including Egyptian practices. Eventually, I understood that I didn’t necessarily need the practices themselves. They were designed to activate what was already within me, and whatever Yeshua had given me was already there.
People would look at me and say, “Your energy is out of control.” I was like a lightning bolt. Energy would shoot up my spine, and suddenly I was completely activated. That didn’t seem to happen to many people, especially then. Perhaps it happens more often now, but back then I frequently felt embarrassed by it.
Eventually, I decided that I wasn’t going to attend all those different events anymore. I stayed with one person, Abdy, for a long time. I supported him and helped with his events, and I became one of his greatest disciples, if you will.
For a while, Yeshua was pushed to the side because I was focused on Abdy as the person who had given me the awakening. But as I grew and the energy began to settle and ground itself, I understood something else was unfolding. That was when Mary Magdalene entered my life.
My partner at the time gave me a book called The Magdalen Manuscript by Tom Kenyon and Judi Sion. I think many women are familiar with it. The book contains a channeled practice for activating the Kundalini, so I thought, “Perhaps what I experienced was different.” I began the practice, and immediately—boom—the same energy was already there.
I resonated deeply with that book. I thought, “I feel Mary in my heart. I feel her. It’s almost as if she’s part of me.” She continued appearing everywhere, even though I wasn’t looking for her.
At that time, Mary Magdalene wasn’t as widely recognized as she is today; she was still somewhat underground. Now she has become much more popular, which I love—as she should be. That was how my journey with Mary Magdalene began.
Then I started hearing a voice that would tell me when to hold retreats, the dates on which to hold them, and where they should take place.

So you began leading retreats yourself?
Val Tignini: Yes, although I’m leaving out an important step. About a year after my awakening, I attended another of Abdy’s events. I had been going regularly, inviting him to New York, helping him bring people to his events, and supporting him however I could.
While Abdy was conducting a healing session, I heard a voice say, “It’s time for you to heal others now.”
Wow! You left out a small detail there!
Val Tignini: I know! My immediate response was, “No, that’s my ego. I need to shut that down.” Not even three seconds later, Abdy walked up to me and said, “Go ahead. Go and heal others now.”
He had apparently received the same message: “Tell Val to go and heal others, because she isn’t getting up.” So I did.
It was my first time offering healing to other people, and I became incredibly emotional. All I could say was, “Thank You, God. Thank You for blessing me.” All I had ever wanted to do with my life was help people, so this felt like the perfect opportunity and the perfect gift.
From that point forward, God kept giving me instructions: “Now you need to heal. Now you need to do this. Now you need to do that.” I followed everything I was being asked to do.
Then one day, God said, “I’m going to give you four assignments.”
The first assignment was to create a video and put my energy into it. I was told, “Then we’ll see what happens.” That video is on YouTube, and I believe it has more than 100,000 views. I haven’t checked in years, but the last time I looked, it was around that number.
For the second assignment, God said, “You need to create this mandala. It represents the new energy, the energy of the New Earth.” The mandala was shown to me through my third eye. It contained a double star and carried the message Soul in Control. It was meant to remind people that their souls are in control.
The third assignment was to write a book containing only seven chapters. I asked, “What is the subject?” The answer was, “I will show you when the time comes. Don’t worry about that.”
The fourth assignment was to travel to Abydos, Egypt. I haven’t fulfilled that one yet. I’ve been to Egypt, but not to Abydos. I will go. I think I know when, and everything will happen at the right time.
I completed the first three assignments, although for a long time I couldn’t understand what the book was supposed to be about. I wasn’t ready to write about myself or my experiences because I was still in the middle of them. I thought, “Why would I begin writing a book now?”
Then little signs started appearing. People would approach me and say, “You’re supposed to write about this.” Eventually, everyone began mentioning Mary Magdalene: “You’re supposed to write about Mary Magdalene.”
I also began seeing signs on cars. One license plate read, “BOOK OF,” and that sealed the deal for me. I said, “Okay, the book has to be about Mary Magdalene.”
I began going deeply into her story, traveling to France, Israel, Egypt, and all the places I believed were significant to her journey.
I want to make sure people know the full title of your book: The Magdalene Revival: Unearthing Hidden Truths, Sacred Lineage, and Spiritual Teachings. If someone reads those seven chapters, how might they benefit? What will they learn?
Val Tignini: At first, I didn’t know what the book was going to be about. I went inward and let my soul take control. Then I began channeling information—not through my voice, but through writing.
I had never channeled through writing before, and I still haven’t done it with any other being—only Mary Magdalene. All this information began flowing through me, and I found it fascinating.
Because the material was so different from what we commonly understand about Mary and Yeshua, I felt that I needed to research it thoroughly. The entire process took seven years: seven chapters written over seven years. I did my due diligence.
I’m someone who needs to see and hear things for myself, just as I did at the beginning of my spiritual journey. I don’t simply accept that something must be true because it has been written down. I needed to research the material and make sure that what I was receiving wasn’t coming from a false place.
Even within the book, Mary says, “If you doubt what I’m telling you, please go and research it for yourself.” Many of these stories are currently regarded as myths, but I found elements that I felt were confirmed within Catholic traditions and the Bible. We often overlook those details because they don’t initially appear important. Different religions also have their own interpretations of Mary Magdalene.
What I love most about the book is how human Mary appears. She moves through an experience of becoming like a goddess, but her story begins when she is a curious little girl. She meets Yeshua and feels a profound connection to him. She knows she is different, but she doesn’t understand why.
She comes into the world as a divine being without fully understanding who she is. Through her relationship with her beloved Yeshua, she gradually discovers her identity.

I imagine that feels like an echo of your own journey.
Val Tignini: Yes. Her journey is very different from mine, of course, but it does feel like an echo.
Between Mary’s chapters, I offer my own reflections and share some of my experiences with Mary and Yeshua. I didn’t want to include those at first because it felt egoic to me. But my book doula said, “You should include some of your own story. People want to know the author as well.” I finally said, “All right, I’ll do it.”
The result is a mixture of Mary’s words and my own experiences. Honestly, it feels like a spiritual codex. It isn’t simply a story; it’s an extraordinary testimony.
In one chapter, Mary shares something I particularly love because I need facts. Her feast day is July 22, or 7/22. If you divide 22 by 7, the result approximates 3.14—pi. She says that isn’t a coincidence.
She says a similar mathematical relationship can be found in what she identifies as Yeshua’s original birthday. Her message is essentially, “If that mathematical equation doesn’t persuade you that I’m telling the truth, what else could?”
The universe speaks through numbers. It is made up of zeros and ones—one beautiful equation.
Writing the book was enjoyable, but it was also deeply emotional. I don’t expect everyone who reads it to believe everything it contains. The book is an unfolding and a gentle nudge.
I like to say that spiritual awakening is like peeling an onion: it happens one layer at a time. If this book can help someone peel away even one layer of their awakening, then so be it.
I’m curious about the timing of your marriage and the birth of your second child, your son. That’s a relatively new experience for you. How has it shifted your spiritual life or changed your sense of dharma?
Val Tignini: That’s a good question. I got married not too long ago. My husband and I met shortly before COVID—or right around the beginning of it—and then I became pregnant. My son was born in 2021.
But I knew he was coming. God had shown me exactly what he would look like and the kind of person he would be. God had also told me that I would get married after I turned forty, and I did. It all felt meant to be.
Before that, I was raising my daughter as a single mother, and I was deeply immersed in the spiritual world. I had very little connection to “the system,” if you will. I was living my own life, traveling around the world, holding events and retreats, speaking at conferences, and teaching in places such as Tokyo. My daughter traveled with me, so we lived a very nomadic, almost gypsy-like life.
There wasn’t much grounding in my life. When my husband came along—especially during COVID—it was suddenly like, Boom. Grounded. That was good for me. I needed it because, if I had continued on the same trajectory, I think I would have floated away.
By that, I mean I would have become so disconnected from physical life that I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it. My son couldn’t have emerged from that version of my life either, because I wasn’t fully here. I wasn’t connected to the physical world.
My husband says that I’m the balloon and he’s the anchor. I enjoy our relationship and that dynamic. I think it’s important for us to be here because we are needed. Our “balloon selves” are needed, but we have to be grounded if we want to be useful to humanity.
You’re a spiritual person, David, but you’re also doing so many things that require you to be grounded: this podcast, the magazine, the books, and everything else you’re creating. We can’t bring those things into the world without grounding.
I think I once wrote an article for Awakened Magazine about my relationship with time. Time feels very fluid to me. I find it difficult to keep track of schedules because time simply doesn’t seem to stick to me. That’s something I’ve experienced since my awakening.
But I’m trying! I have calendars all over my house and set double and triple reminders. Of course, I also have my husband to help me.
My daughter is older now, and she has become a bit of an anchor for me as well. I believe she is very spiritual herself, but she tries to stay grounded because she knows she has to live in this world. We all need to live in the world, don’t we?
Yes, we do. I’m curious about your relationship with Jesus, or Yeshua. Why do you call him Yeshua, and what is your relationship with him like? Do you consider yourself Catholic? I believe I’ve seen you attend church, so I’m curious about the connections between Jesus, the Church, and your spiritual life.
Val Tignini: Yes, I do go to church. I enjoy it, and I’ll try all kinds of churches, I’m not prejudiced. Wherever people love Jesus, that’s where I’ll go.
I’ve gravitated more toward the Catholic Church than other denominations because, believe it or not, I like receiving the Eucharist. When I receive it, I feel energy inside my mouth moving into my crown and then into my heart. I can feel it. Perhaps it comes from the collective energy of love placed into the consecration of the Eucharist.
I believe everyone’s spiritual journey should be uniquely their own. I used to think, “I can’t go to church. We all know what has happened there. We know that some of these people aren’t legitimate and that some of the teachings have been misconstrued.” But now I don’t care. I tune all of that out.
I go into my heart and think, “I’m in a place where everyone loves the same being I love. Everyone loves the same Lord.” He is my savior. He saved me.
Some people might say, “Calling him your savior is so dogmatic. No one else can save you.” But he actually did save me, so I can say that. Perhaps someone else can’t say it for themselves, but I can.
When you say, “He saved me,” what does that mean to you?
Val Tignini: I was dying inside my own body. I see my soul as a flame, and that flame was gradually burning out. I don’t understand why. From the outside, it looked as though I was on top of the world, but internally I was dying.
He brought that flame back. He reignited it at full force, and it will never die down as long as I love him. I also know that he loves me, and that he loves all of us.

Who is Jesus?
Val Tignini: Who is Jesus? That’s the big question, and I’m still exploring it.
The way I see it, Jesus is a divine being. When he came to Earth, I don’t think he consciously knew who he was. As he grew and traveled, he began receiving messages from the Father and discovering his true nature.
I believe the Father—God, the universe—was speaking to him and giving him direction. I also think his mother knew a great deal. I believe Yeshua is a galactic being who was sent from the Holy of Holies: “We need to send you down as a man, and you need to go through this for humanity.”
That may or may not be true, but it’s what I believe. I think he was a sacrifice. In this moment, I even feel as though that is what Yeshua means to me: sacrifice. That’s simply what is coming through right now.
I feel that Yeshua came to show us what human beings are capable of and to anchor Christ energy—the Holy Spirit—on Earth. He is the highest example of what humanity can become, and therefore, to me, he is God.
If I had to place a face upon God, I would choose the face of Jesus because he exemplifies what a good and loving God would be. All he did was heal humanity, offer the good word, and teach people to treat one another well. Everything he spoke about was rooted in love, yet he was continually persecuted for it.
He knew that his earthly life was coming to an end. He knew what his fate would be because that was what God—the universe—had told him.
But perhaps the bigger question is: Who was Yeshua speaking to? He spoke of “the Father,” but that is our translation, and there have been so many different translations. Some people say he was communicating with a divine feminine presence. Was it Sophia? Was it the Father? Was it Yahweh? I don’t think it was Yahweh, but I don’t know.
There are so many questions. Will we ever receive all the answers? Who knows? What do you think?
I don’t know whether I want to dive into that particular question, but something feels very apparent to me during this conversation: You are an activator. Please disregard this if it doesn’t resonate, but I sense that you may have set aside your activation for a while because it frightened or overwhelmed you. Perhaps it took you in a direction you weren’t ready for or made you feel disconnected from three-dimensional reality.
But I sense that your ability to activate others is needed and is preparing to reemerge. People need that activation, and part of its power comes through the unique way it is expressed through you. Like it or not, you have a distinctive presence: You’re a beautiful woman who appreciates design and aesthetics. Some people will be able to receive an activation through you in a way they might not be able to receive it from Abdy or someone else.
Val Tignini: That’s channeling. I can feel it. I can feel the energy in my heart.
It feels beautiful. Perhaps this is a process all of us move through—I’m certainly in the middle of it myself. I love how you described this period of focusing on being a wife and mother as grounding. I see it as a time of integration: You’ve been learning to integrate everything that was activated within you into the reality of daily life.
Through that process, you may gain an even deeper understanding of how to help other people integrate their own activations. You’ve been living that integration yourself.
Val Tignini: Thank you, David. I’ve been receiving many messages like that lately. It feels as though God is speaking to me through you.
You have a new podcast, From the Stars to Jersey, launching at the end of September. I love the title, and you’ve already filmed some episodes. What will the podcast be about?
Val Tignini: It’s a funny title, but if you take it literally, it’s about someone from the stars coming down to New Jersey. It explores how the divine comes down to Earth alongside extraterrestrials, angelic beings, and all kinds of other beings or energies that might come from the stars.
We’ll talk about many subjects: consciousness, extraterrestrials, Yeshua—my favorite subject—and energy. We’ll also explore integration. How do we make these ideas real? How do they fit into our everyday world? Is this all truly “woo-woo,” or is what we call woo-woo simply becoming part of ordinary life?
We need to recognize that these things aren’t separate from our everyday existence. These subjects have been taboo for so long, and I want to make them part of normal conversation.
Only a couple of years ago, UFOs, orbs, and UAPs—or what people later called drones—were flying around New Jersey for months, and no one wanted to say anything about it. Everyone was responding, “Hmm, I don’t know.”
My husband and I were married in Bedminster, New Jersey, and we saw objects we believed were UFOs flying overhead while we were getting married. This is the world we’re living in now, and it’s only going to become more interesting. Everyone should fasten their seat belts.
It’s time to understand that nothing is separate. Spirituality is the core—the center of life—and everything else exists alongside it.

Listeners will be able to find information about From the Stars to Jersey on your website. What is the best way for people to follow your work and join your email list?
Val Tignini: My website is still ValSecrets.com. They can also visit the podcast page for From the Stars to Jersey.
What social media platforms are you most active on?
Val Tignini: I’m most active on Instagram and TikTok.
We’ve been asking everyone a fun question at the end of the interview. Have you purchased something for less than one hundred dollars that had a meaningful impact on your life?
Val Tignini: You already know the answer: my session with Abdy. I paid only fifty dollars for that session.
I love that. For fifty dollars, you too can completely upend your life and make your family think you’ve lost your mind!
Val Tignini: Exactly! All of that. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed this conversation.
Thank you for being here and sharing your story. I truly believe you are an activator the world needs and that this part of you is reemerging in a very powerful way. I can feel it.
Val Tignini: Thank you, David. I believe you’re going to be a powerful force as well. You already are, it’s just like a rocket ship.
Thank you, Val. It was wonderful being with you.
Val Tignini: Thank you.
“Jesus brought that flame back. He ignited it, and it's full force. And it's never gonna die down just as long as I love him.”
