The Aesthetic of Spirituality
Somewhere along the way, “spirituality” turned into an aesthetic. It’s become more of a performance—a checklist of trends we feel pressured to follow so we can look enlightened instead of actually doing the messy inner work (which isn’t so aesthetically pleasing).
There’s so much talk about intuition, sovereignty, and self-trust, yet we hand our power over to gurus, psychics, and the next shiny spiritual trend. It becomes another identity to hide behind rather than a path back to our own center. A lot of what’s being sold in the spiritual space disempowers us and holds us back rather than helping us evolve and think for ourselves.
My First Awakening: Hiding Behind the “Spiritual” Identity
When I first had my spiritual awakening at 21, I got caught up in hiding behind these spiritual trends. Facing the truth felt so painful—like I was being cracked open—so bypassing and softening the blow through various practices felt safer. I spent years running away from myself, but the truth is brutal, and eventually you reach a point where you can no longer escape it or unsee it.
Diving Deeper Into the Shadow
Back in 2021, I experienced another awakening. This time, it felt like I was diving deeper into new layers of my own shadow and the collective shadow. I became bored with mainstream spirituality and started asking harder-hitting questions.
While searching for answers, I came across a book called The New Age is the New Cage by Tony Sayers. It opened my eyes to what true spirituality is and how easy it is to get lost in the “love and light” bubble without integrating the dark side. The book offered so much depth, and it took me a while to process everything I already intuitively knew but needed to hear. It completely transformed my perspective, and I felt myself unraveling into a new version of me.
What True Spirituality Really Asks of Us
Being spiritual is about having the courage to face yourself and take accountability for how you’re showing up. It’s also about reconnecting with the creator within rather than reaching outside ourselves.
In the last few years, I’ve made it a goal to know myself so deeply that no movement, guru, or community can separate me from my own sovereignty and truth. It’s been one of the greatest things I’ve done—not just for myself, but for my loved ones and the collective as a whole. Truth and authenticity are the highest forms of love; when we show up this way, we inspire others to do the same, creating a powerful ripple effect throughout the world.
The Subtle Trap of New Age Ideology
The more I’ve peeled back these layers, the more obvious it’s become how subtle the programming really is. So much of New Age ideology teaches us to “rise above,” to detach, to transcend—but sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is drop into your body and confront what’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes the growth isn’t in floating away from the pain but in meeting it head-on with open eyes and an open heart.

The True Power of Sovereignty
The real path isn’t glamorous. It’s humbling. It asks you to question your own motives, your own illusions, your own habits of running. And that’s the part no one posts about. That’s the part you can’t buy in a workshop or “manifest” through a mood board. It happens in the moments when you stop outsourcing your power and finally turn inward.
Sovereignty isn’t loud, and it doesn’t need validation. It doesn’t need crystals lined up in a perfect grid or a daily display of rituals on social media. Sovereignty is subtle. It’s the confidence of someone who trusts their inner compass more than the noise around them. It’s the willingness to walk away from anything—even a “spiritual” community—if it pulls you out of alignment with your own truth.
Coming Back to Yourself
My hope is that we all start to question more, to look beyond the pretty packaging of “consciousness,” and to return to the raw, unfiltered work of becoming whole. Because when you reclaim yourself and your power on that level, you don’t just heal your own life—you elevate the collective frequency in a way that’s grounded, embodied, and real.
Ready to Go Deeper?
If you’re feeling the pull to break out of the spiritual noise and return to your own truth, this is the work I guide people through. Shadow work isn’t easy, but you don’t have to walk that path alone. I help you unravel the patterns, beliefs, and parts that keep you disconnected from your power, so you can step into a level of sovereignty that’s embodied, unshakable, and real.
