What if the very experiences that once left you feeling broken were actually proof of your divine connection?

For Glenda Dawson, awakening wasn’t a single moment but a lifelong dialogue with the unseen. From her earliest memories of speaking with archangels to the miraculous day she took her first steps after being told she would never walk, Glenda has lived guided by what she calls “her team.” That same guidance has carried her through marriage, motherhood, and eventually into a vocation as a healer, channel, and teacher.

Today, Glenda blends Reiki, shamanic practices, and her channeling of the Council of Nine to help people release attachments, remember their wholeness, and reconnect with their soul’s purpose. Whether she’s guiding a client through trauma, blessing a new home, or receiving downloads in the stillness of the “witching hour,” her work is rooted in one message: you are never alone.

In this conversation, Glenda shares how her gifts first revealed themselves in childhood, why healing is really a journey of remembering, and how every person has a team of guides ready to walk beside them. Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

I want to hear all about your journey of awakening to consciousness, mindfulness, and spirituality. I often like to start in childhood, because that’s where so much of our influence begins. Did you grow up with some sort of spirituality in your home, or did that come later in life?

Glenda Dawson: I was very blessed. Even though it was what some might call “boxed-in religion,” I had a deeper connection with the other side—with the Divine, with the archangels. My story is a little different. When I was born, I never lost that connection. I remember everything. I used to see archangels and have conversations with them all the time.

It wasn’t until later in life that I realized not everyone experienced this. The day before my second birthday, they came to me. Up to that point, I couldn’t walk—I was born with a birth defect, and specialist after specialist told my parents there was no hope. They said I’d need a wheelchair, that I’d never walk. But the day before I turned two, the angels came and said, “Come on, you’re walking.”

At first, I resisted—“I can’t, what are you talking about?”—but they took my hand. I went inside, walked right up to my mother, and asked for a glass of water. She screamed and fainted. The whole neighborhood rushed over because they heard her cries, and all I wanted was that glass of water. I wasn’t even putting it together that I was walking for the first time.

The next day, as I blew out my birthday candles, I made a commitment to serve the Divine for the greatest good. Since then, they’ve taken me on some wild journeys. Sometimes I’d wake up at three in the morning and feel directed to go to Dunkin’ Donuts, where I’d end up meeting someone who later confessed they’d been on the verge of suicide—yet our conversation gave them hope.

There was another time, in Pennsylvania, when I felt guided to a highway that runs through a protected park. I found a man sitting on a wall about to jump. I started chatting with him—joking, noticing how brave he must be to even sit there. Eventually, he got down, and I invited him for hot chocolate at a nearby restaurant. As we talked about spirituality, he admitted he had planned to end his life that day. Encounters like that are part of how I live: I get the nudge—“go here, do this”—and I follow.

Even my first marriage happened under that same guidance. At 15, I was shown that I would marry a particular man and that we would have three children together. I knew their genders, the order they’d be born in, even their hair and eye colors. Ten years later, when I was 25, I met him exactly as I’d been told I would.

So you were 15 when you knew, and 25 when you actually met him?

Glenda Dawson: Exactly. I was 15 when I received the vision, and 25 when we finally met.

Amazing. Take me back a little bit, because we went from age two to twenty-five very quickly. You mentioned making a commitment at two years old to serve the Divine for the greatest good. What did that look like for you as a teenager, and later when you went to college? How did that unfold in terms of education or career path?

Glenda Dawson: Growing up, I was very aware of empathic feelings. I could sense when someone was down, and my friends would often come to me. I used to joke that I had more secrets than the CIA, because people instantly felt comfortable opening up to me. I created a safe, sacred space for them, and that was my way of serving throughout high school.

Of course, I was still human. I had my moments of fear—times when I’d be guided to go somewhere and think, Are you sure? That neighborhood isn’t safe. I’m so small, I don’t know if I’ll be okay. But every time, the message came back: If we direct you, you’ll be safe. And that’s how I’ve lived my life. Every opportunity, every step I take, I check in: Yes? No? Yes, but be careful here? It’s always a dialogue.

Being gifted was also generational. I can trace at least nine generations of women in my family who had spiritual gifts. Growing up, I was told: Don’t talk to your father about this. Only share with your mother, your grandmother, and your great-grandmother. At that time, I even had my great-great-grandmother alive. They reminded me not to assume that others saw what I was seeing.

As I got older and learned about the history of witch burnings or how people could be labeled “crazy” and institutionalized, I realized they were protecting me.

Did you talk to your mom or grandmother about the things you were hearing or seeing?

Glenda Dawson: Yes, I did. Their main response was always: Don’t talk to your father. He was very Christian, and to him, what I was experiencing would have seemed evil or from the devil.

It wasn’t until he had his own awakening that things shifted. I remember being seven years old—he was very old school and disciplined us with a belt, the way he had been taught. But each time he tried to hit me, the archangels surrounded me. They created a wall, and the blows never reached me.

When you were seven years old?

Glenda Dawson: Yes. And that made him aware that there was something more. I was protected, and then he began seeing what he called angelic beings. I don’t know which ones he saw, but for him, it was enough to recognize there was another dimension at play. He didn’t want to talk about it, but he changed completely. He never hit any of us again.

From that moment, he realized that the way he had been raised—very strict, very tough—wasn’t the way he wanted to raise his own children. He became gentler, more nurturing, a wonderful father and provider. That shift opened the channel for me to slowly begin talking with him about my experiences.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

At what age—or at what point in your life—did you begin to shift into offering your services to help others as more of a vocation? When did that career path emerge for you?

Glenda Dawson: It happened when I was working as a paralegal, overseeing 128 attorneys. Spirit said, You need to start using your gifts to help those around you.

The office environment carried a lot of negativity, and clients would often come in during their most vulnerable moments. Spirit made it clear: We need you to step up. That’s when I began transitioning, though I resisted it. I’m a Gemini, so I like to debate with my guides—I’d argue with them, saying, No, I don’t want to do this full time. And they’d respond, Yes, you will.

Were you already educated and equipped in terms of Reiki or other modalities at that time? Or did that come later?

Glenda Dawson: I started Reiki in the 1980s. I was living in New Jersey, and some friends and I went into New York City for a spiritual class—it was a full-day meditation event. As we were walking down Sixth Avenue, I saw a little sign that seemed to pull me in. I told my friends, “You go ahead, I’m being called here.” They just laughed, “Oh, she’s getting one of those again.” And they were right.

I walked in, signed up with my credit card—though it was a lot of money back then—and I didn’t even know what Reiki was. But I knew I had to follow that call. A Japanese Grandmaster would come once a year to teach and attune students. It was a weekend training, very rigorous. There were no books or printed symbols. You received the attunement, and by the next day, you had to perform a treatment. You had to pay close attention because, before moving to the next level, they tested you again. It was very disciplined and very dedicated.

That’s where my professional training began. Everything else before that had simply come through me—channeled, guided, whatever was needed in the moment.

So you went through that weekend Reiki training—that would have been Level One, I assume. And then did you just keep going back to the same school?

Glenda Dawson: Yes, I went back to that school for four years.

Were you practicing during that time—with friends, family, or clients?

Glenda Dawson: Mostly with friends and family. It wasn’t like I set up an official practice. It was more natural: someone had a sore shoulder, I’d give Reiki; someone had a rough day, I’d offer a session. My friends would often say, “I don’t feel good—can you do Reiki?” and I’d welcome them over.

When I got married, I stepped back a little—between kids, work, and life, I had to prioritize other things. But my intuition never went away. The second I became pregnant, I knew instantly. I’d tell my ex-husband, “We’re pregnant,” and he’d ask how I could possibly know so soon. But I always knew. I even knew when I was carrying twins and whether one wouldn’t make it. The doctors would say, “There’s only one,” but I’d insist there were two. Later, after a miscarriage, they discovered the second.

Once I was divorced, I began taking more classes. By then, my children were eight, four, and two. Opportunities just seemed to appear—flyers would show up in my mailbox, or I’d overhear someone at the supermarket talking about a class. That’s how I found my mentors.

Ironically, my ex-husband introduced me to one of my most important mentors. She taught me to integrate everything, instead of keeping Reiki here and another modality there. She would say, It’s all energy, all your connection to the Divine. Why are you separating it? That’s when I began to realize there isn’t just black and white—there’s so much in between.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

So at that time, you were separating the different modalities in your mind? How did that play out for you? I think a lot of conscious leaders or healers listening might be struggling with that, too.

Glenda Dawson: Yes. Back then, I would keep everything separate—Reiki under Reiki, meditation under meditation, tarot under tarot. But really, it’s all the same. It’s all energy. No matter what you’re practicing, you’re still connected to the Divine and to your team.

And when I say “team,” that’s what I call them. Some people prefer “the collective,” but for me, it’s always been my team. They’re not exclusively mine—of course, Archangel Michael and the Arcturians work with many people. But when they gather for me, in that moment, they are my team.

Do you have a relationship with specific beings on your team, or is it more of a collective presence?

Glenda Dawson: I have both. There’s my permanent team, which includes Ishtar and the essence of the Divine—I like to leave it described simply that way. Archangel Gabriel is also part of my core team. When Gabriel comes in as the Divine Feminine, I know there’s serious business to be done. Gabriel acts like a general—directing, communicating, and giving me guidance. Of course, I always have free will, but when those directives come, I listen.

What I’ve also learned is that whenever I step into a healing session, it’s not really me doing it—they are. And as they work through me, I receive the healing too. It energizes me.

So those are your “all-stars.” Do others come and go?

Glenda Dawson: Yes, there are always others who come in and out. But never fewer than fifteen. Even in difficult or dangerous situations, I hear: You’re taken care of. Then I see them surround me, and I feel at peace.

And to be clear—I don’t see them with my physical eyes. I see with my third eye, but the vision is just as real as if a person were standing right beside me.

Some people, like you, have had these experiences from a very young age. It’s just natural—they see, they know. Others might not experience that as clearly, but perhaps they sense that there are spirits or guides with them. How would you help those individuals become more aware of their team?

Glenda Dawson: I actually hold sessions to help people meet their guides—or as I call them, their team. I guide them into a meditative state, and from there they’re able to experience their own team directly. I encourage them to ask their team to introduce themselves, and to share their “calling card.”

For example, someone might have Archangel Michael and see something shiny, silver, right away. Another might connect with Archangel Raphael and see emerald green. The signs are different for each person, but those symbols or sensations help them recognize the presence of their team.

And during those sessions, are you the one who sees the guides and tells the person? Or are they seeing it themselves?

Glenda Dawson: They see it themselves. My role is to guide and protect the space. Sometimes people bring attachments that don’t belong, and I make sure those are cleared. But ultimately, I hold the container while they meet their team.

I’ll prompt them: Ask who they are. Ask what they do for you. How can you work with them? What’s their calling card—something you’ll see, feel, smell, or just know? Everyone has a team. Once you learn to recognize yours, you can call on them whenever you need guidance or support.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

And that’s not just for healers, facilitators, or coaches, right? You’re saying every single person has a team to support them on this journey of life?

Glenda Dawson: Absolutely—everybody does. The second you are conceived and your soul comes in, you come with six permanent spirit guides. They stay with you throughout your life, and when you transition back to love, back home, they return with you.

Beyond those six, other guides can come and go. Sometimes it’s a family member who’s passed and chooses to stay close as a guide. Others arrive for a season or a specific purpose. In my sessions, I introduce people to their permanent six, their animal spirit guide, and any others who may be walking with them.

I imagine that’s a really exciting experience for people. What kinds of reactions do they have?

Glenda Dawson: Often, it’s the moment of recognition. One woman used to smell roses in her home in the middle of winter when no roses were around. She couldn’t understand it—she’d even go around checking to make sure no candle was left burning. During our session, she realized that one of her guides was using roses as a calling card.

Guides want us to notice them. They show up when we’re making big decisions, moving homes, navigating challenges, or even going through something as intense as a Kundalini awakening. Those can be very difficult experiences, and our teams are there to hold and support us through them.

That’s funny, you mention that. I haven’t had the rose experience, but this morning, after just coming back from Egypt, I was up at 2:30 a.m. I’ve been fighting a cold, lying on the couch with my laptop, when suddenly I smelled a pumpkin-scented candle. There wasn’t a candle anywhere near me. A moment later, I smelled it again. It made me wonder what message I was supposed to receive. Fascinating experience. Let me ask you this: you’ve been doing this for many years now, and you have all these modalities you use to help people. When you meet someone, how do you describe what you do?

Glenda Dawson: I usually begin by saying that I’m very spiritual and that I allow the Divine to work through me in whatever form it appears or manifests in the physical world. Then I explain that I teach, I give sessions, and I help people find their way. If someone feels lost or uncertain about their next step, I help them gain clarity.

Of course, it can be difficult. Some people are still narrow-minded, and you can’t always start by saying, I’ve been talking to spirits all my life. That can be off-putting. But I’ve found that if I say, I’m a paranormal investigator or that I’ve investigated the paranormal, people suddenly perk up: Oh, really? And that opens the door to the deeper conversation.

What do you think it is about being a paranormal investigator that makes people more open to the conversation?

Glenda Dawson: Because people are more accepting of it now. With so many videos, shows, articles, and well-known figures talking about the paranormal, people are less afraid. They realize there’s more than just this physical world.

I often tell people: if you believe in the afterlife, that’s part of the same continuum. For some souls, when they pass, they don’t immediately cross into the light. They may feel guilt or fear, or perhaps they’re simply attached to the only joyful part of their life, so they keep reliving it. That’s what you sometimes encounter in paranormal investigation.

But really, if people understood that no matter the path—Buddhist, Wiccan, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist—it doesn’t matter. As long as you have love in your heart and do your best not to intentionally harm others, we all return to the Divine Creator. We may stumble as humans, but as long as we strive to live authentically and with moral integrity, we go back to love.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

I want to hear about the people you most often serve in this season of your life. Who are they, and what kinds of challenges are they coming to you with?

Glenda Dawson: Many people come to me saying they have what they call “dark attachments.” It’s usually a heavy energy that’s stuck to their field because they haven’t yet worked through something.

Do they actually use the phrase “dark attachment”?

Glenda Dawson: Yes. Some do. Others describe it as “evil,” “bad luck,” or “a dark cloud” hanging over them.

And is this where you would bring in something like paranormal cauterization?

Glenda Dawson: Not right away. First, I use a detachment modality. When they come in—whether in person or over Zoom—I scan their energy field. As they talk, little red dots show up to me, pointing out where there are issues.

Often these are linked to trauma—sometimes from this lifetime, sometimes from another. Many people experienced difficulty in childhood, especially in older generations, where parents might not have had the tools or emotional support to raise children well. That trauma leaves a mark. I think of it like a pothole in their energy field.

When there’s an opening like that, it creates a space for negative energy to enter. It could be guilt, emptiness, or unresolved pain—and the energy begins to feed on that.

When you say attachment, what is actually being attached?

Glenda Dawson: It’s simply an energy—a being made of energy. When we’re aligned, happy, and connected to Divine love, our field is strong, thick, and protected. There are no potholes. But when someone carries unresolved trauma, their field weakens. That’s when attachments can slip in.

Sometimes it’s from environments we’ve been in—walking into a negative place, or meeting someone whose energy is very heavy. That energy can jump and latch on. Other times, it’s chaotic entities from different dimensions. Some call them extraterrestrial or interdimensional, but to me, an attachment—whether positive or negative—interferes with sovereignty. My goal is to help people release anything that disrupts their wholeness, so they can shine their own light freely.

So you’re scanning the individual, seeing different things in their field. Once you recognize something, and they’ve shared some of their story, what happens next?

Glenda Dawson: After I finish scanning, I’ll tell them what I’ve found. For example, This is why your left shoulder hurts. This is why you keep getting headaches on your right temple. This is why your stomach is always upset, why you struggle with IBS. And often, I’ll identify the root—perhaps a trauma between the ages of five and six, like witnessing something shocking or experiencing abuse.

From there, I work with my team. Sometimes I bring in Archangel Michael, and I like to make it a little humorous by asking him to arrive with an “Uber car.” I tell the entities, I’m not here to hurt you. But you can’t stay here anymore. This person has had enough suffering. Then I direct them into that “Uber,” and they’re taken where they need to go—whether to Gaia, to another dimension, or to the Divine. They still have a choice of where to go, but staying in the client’s field is no longer an option.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

Do you say all of this out loud in front of the client?

Glenda Dawson: Sometimes. It depends on the client—some would be unnerved, so I keep it quiet. But often I’ll say enough so they know what’s happening. If they want details, I’ll tell them which entities have left. If they don’t, I simply say, Everything that needed to be cleared has been cleared.

Once the attachments are released, I guide the client to breathe and relax. Then, through my shamanic training, I journey to the underworld to retrieve the soul pieces that broke off during trauma. It’s like filling in the gaps, spackling a wall so that everything is whole and smooth again.

So you’re filling the potholes.

Glenda Dawson: Exactly—making the soul look as though it was never fractured. I also strengthen their aura, because the aura is our first shield. That way, the specific frequency of what has left cannot return.

Have you ever had a situation where the attachment was more than just energy—where it was an entity that resisted leaving?

Glenda Dawson: Yes, I have. In those cases, I’ll usually do two clearing sessions, and if the entity still refuses to leave, that’s when I use what I call Paranormal Cauterization.

That means negotiation is off the table. I energetically burn the entity away, then cover everything with healing light so the person is restored. Afterward, I go back in and repair the field—fixing the “potholes”—so it’s smooth and whole again.

And that works?

Glenda Dawson: Yes. The person feels lighter and freer. But it’s important to understand that these sessions continue working for days afterward. Healing is still unfolding in their field. I also give clients very specific aftercare instructions, which my team channels through me—things like drinking lots of water, staying off social media, avoiding negative news, and repeating certain phrases daily to reinforce the healing. Each person receives something tailored just for them.

Paranormal Cauterization was given to me about 15 years ago. At first, I used it in house clearings, but then I was guided to apply it to people as well.

Tell me about that.

Glenda Dawson: You’ve probably heard of Conjuring House in Burrillville, Rhode Island—the one the movies were based on. I was once invited there as the “celebrity medium” for an event. Before I entered, I paused outside and asked permission to come in, promising respect. That night, the team gathered incredible evidence, but no one was harmed or attacked.

I approach these spaces differently. Even if the entities once lived and are no longer in a body, they deserve respect. And when you treat them with respect, they respond with cooperation.

I’ve also walked into homes where ancestral trauma was still active—Native American ancestors who had been killed, or bloodlines weighed down by violence. In one case, the solution that came through was to plant fruit trees on the property corners and to gather as a family for Sunday dinners. Within three days, the haunting stopped.

The family later woke to find blood between their mattresses—a final release, sealing the contract with the ancestors. Afterward, their lives turned around. The wife’s art flourished, the husband’s construction business revived, and the family dinners became a joyful tradition with children and grandchildren.

What the spirits wanted was simple: respect, remembrance, and family unity. When that was restored, peace followed.

Glenda Dawson - Awakened Magazine

Talk to me about the Council of Nine. When did you start channeling for them, and who are they? What are their primary messages?

Glenda Dawson: I began channeling the Council of Nine about ten years ago, though I only started doing it publicly around four years ago. They are a group of nine, which I envision like a round table with nine seats. Each time I channel, a different being takes a seat, but they’re all part of the Council.

Sometimes it’s galactic beings, sometimes archangels, sometimes humans who’ve passed on. Whoever comes through, they always come in the light. Their messages are for humanity—to help us remember who we truly are.

Often, they’ll give me energetic “coordinates.” It might sound like 17, 9, 5, 10—and then red. When I speak those aloud, our group travels together energetically to the same place, even though we’re physically in different states. The experience helps us recall pieces of ourselves—gifts we’ve forgotten or aspects of our soul we’ve carried through lifetimes.

People have written to me afterward saying, I saw myself with you in that place. I remembered I could channel. The next day, I started hearing and seeing. Their lives shift because they’ve remembered who they are and why they’re here.

Sometimes the Council gives very specific messages. Not long ago, they shared a message for a woman being abused. We didn’t know who it was for, but a week later, someone reached out: That was me. I was deciding whether to end my life or leave, and your message gave me the strength to walk away.

I don’t ask questions anymore. The Council reminds me: You don’t need to know. You just need to do the work. And I accept that.

They’ve also lifted me personally when I’ve been in low moments. They take me to a place where I remember: I am Divine. I am in love. I am seen. I don’t need anything external. I’ve got this. And then I look at my life—my children, my grandchildren, my partner, the blessings all around me—and I realize it’s just part of being human. We all have lifetimes of energy to release, and the Council helps us do that with grace.

How do you decide which classes to offer—and how do you manage the amount you’re putting into the world?

Glenda Dawson: I listen to my team. They’ll say, This is what the world needs this week, and I follow that guidance. When I take their suggestion, I’m supported and held through the whole process, so I don’t worry about the how—I’m guided.

I also think that’s why I have the energy to do so much. During healing sessions, channeling, Reiki—even hosting my Glenda’s Dragons Den podcast—the energy moves through me, so I’m being healed and replenished as it flows. Guests bring their own energy too, and I feel that radiance.

Of course, I’m human. When I’m tired, I take “me time.” I go to the back of my yard, sit among the trees, and rest in quiet.

I keep a simple rhythm: mornings are my ritual—my conversation with my team about the day and where they need me. At night, I give thanks and ask for rest… though the 2:30 a.m. “witching hour” often brings a wake-up call. That’s when I get downloads and suggestions.

So when you said you woke at 2:30 and caught that scent, I smiled. They were trying to get your attention for what you were working on—an invitation to look closer, maybe reword or refine something.

Beautiful. Glenda, tell us how people can work with you. If someone wants to set up a session, what do you offer beyond removing dark attachments? And tell us about your YouTube shows as well.

Glenda Dawson: People can reach me through my website or by emailing me. I’m also active on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), so I’m easy to find.

I offer a variety of services. There are one-on-one sessions, including channeling, tarot certification, shamanism courses, and self-love classes. I lead group healings, coaching, and workshops throughout the week. Sometimes I call sessions “bliss,” because they’re simply about resetting your energy—something even healers need.

In addition, I do Reiki, home blessings, weddings, baptisms, and child blessings. When someone buys a house, I often clear and bless the space so they can begin fresh. And I also dedicate time to charity work—offering services where the proceeds go directly to someone in need.

I see my work as a way of offering people whatever they need in the moment, whether that’s guidance, healing, or simply a reminder of their connection to the Divine.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and wisdom, Glenda. I resonate deeply with your presence. I’ve read reviews about how much people value the energy you bring, and I can feel that in our conversation today. We’ll include all of your links in the show notes so listeners can connect with you. Thank you again—it’s been a pleasure.

Glenda Dawson: Thank you for having me. It’s been a joy.
