Take What Resonates, Leave What Doesn’t

What a load of nonsense… ‘Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t?’ A term spoken by many a psychic, the spiritual teacher, or those seen as guides. This is just their get-out-of-jail-free card, right? … Wrong.

When I first started hearing this term, I questioned it, often thinking how interesting it was that the preacher was putting a disclaimer on their words, a protection of their credibility. Their name couldn’t be tarnished because whoever is hearing their prophecies, predictions, or storytelling may just not resonate with it.

How ridiculously clever…

But when you really start to understand what lies underneath these words, it’s not that ridiculous at all.

How many times have you attended a workshop, class, or perhaps even a psychic session only to leave remembering one tiny piece of the information? We all take the most important part of what resonates with us, apply it as we need to, use what we trust, and hope that what we are being guided toward are the right words we actually needed to hear.

Whether they are true or false, this is the beginning of our understanding of the piece of information we need at the time, or that day.

If it’s not resonating, we leave it alone, never to think on it again, but if it’s meant for our ears, we tend to follow. Our hearts listen a little deeper, and our minds complete the sentence.

And whether the information is something we agree with or not, the disagreement or the false information is what we were supposed to pay attention to, regardless. You were meant to debate it; we were meant to find an alternative solution, or the information was so blatantly incorrect that you were supposed to expose the person spreading it.

Everything has a reason, and that reason is the reason for everything.

We all entered this earthly existence for different reasons, and we approach things from different perspectives. And across the globe, we have hundreds, if not thousands, of variances of religions, sub-religions, belief structures, organizations, societies, brotherhoods, sisterhoods, you name it… People will connect with something in their own way and in a way that best fits their lives. And that’s how it should be.

The psychic on TikTok somehow knows what’s coming for you today, the marketing tactics deployed telling you ‘if you’re watching this, it’s meant to find you’.

That’s because it probably is, and you will place meaning where it fits. Because at the end of that day, you and I aren’t that different.

We may have different principles, worship different deities, or have found our way.

From a place of dogma. Understanding something in your own way doesn’t mean someone else has to embody it as their truth. But here is the one thing we most commonly agree on. Creation. And creation keeps happening; we go on to create and learn through different concepts, teachings, and happenings. And how you take that knowledge and what you do with it is entirely up to you.

Someone may be on their path to being heard as a guide, someone whose lessons or predictions are 100% accurate.

Or they are a false prophet, a fearmonger, a bullshitter. Whatever it may be, it’s purposeful, it’s showing up for a reason, and they are on their path as much as you are with yours, in your own unique way.

So next time you hear that phrase, you’re either going to believe it, or you don’t. They’re either lying, or they’re not… it all has its place.
