A coherent relationship does not begin when we find the right person. It begins when we become coherent within ourselves.

We spend so much of our lives searching for a relationship. We search for the person who will understand us, choose us, love us, validate us, and somehow make us feel complete.

But what if relationships were never designed to complete us?

What if relationship is one of consciousness’s greatest mirrors—a living field through which we discover ourselves?

Some relationships feel instantly familiar. We meet someone and something inside us recognizes them before our mind has any explanation for why.

Perhaps we call it soul memory.

Perhaps reincarnation.

Parallel lives.

Energetic resonance.

Consciousness or simply an inexplicable feeling of having known someone before. The terminology matters less to me than the invitation contained within the experience:

What is this relationship here to awaken within me now?

Relationships Through Time and Space

For many years, I have experienced extraordinarily vivid states of consciousness during sleep and meditation that I understand as journeys beyond my physical body. An out-of-body experience; some of the most profound have involved Sirius B.

In these experiences, I find myself in water. Not ordinary water. It is impossibly clear and deeply blue, surrounded by an underwater landscape of extraordinary beauty. One time I realized I could breathe beneath the surface. I can move through the water naturally, and I know where I am going even when my waking mind does not. For years, I didn’t understand these experiences.

I simply kept returning.

Again and again, I found myself swimming through intricate cave systems. I somehow knew the passages and where they led, even though I couldn’t explain how. Then one experience changed everything. I traveled through the familiar caves and surfaced inside what appeared to be part of a home.

There were beings there. At first, they became very still, almost as though they did not know whether I could perceive them.

I remember saying: “I see you.”

I told them my name, in their language, who I was in their life and who I was now, and then they responded to me. I climbed out of the water and stood among them.

Then a man entered.

Recognition was instantaneous.

There was no introduction.

No questioning.

No story my mind needed to construct.

Everything within me knew him as my husband.

In my spiritual understanding, he was my husband on Sirius B, connected with another aspect of myself that continued to exist there, and then he held me. The love I experienced was so profound that I struggle, even now, to translate it into human language.

There was no grasping.

No fear.

No need to possess.

There was recognition.

There was remembrance.

There was simply love.

When I returned to ordinary waking consciousness, I cried. For days, I felt the ache of having experienced a love that felt completely natural there and then, and finding myself once again here, inside the density and complexity of human life. But something important happened. The love didn’t disappear; it stayed within me.

When Love Becomes a Frequency

Over the years, these experiences continued. Water became particularly meaningful to me. Whether I was near the ocean in Costa Rica, California, Hawaii, or elsewhere, I often felt the same sense of connection and remembrance.

Through meditation and altered states of awareness, I have also experienced merging with the feminine aspect of myself that I associate with Sirius B and feeling the presence of this husband extraordinarily close to me.

Sometimes during healing work, I perceive him standing behind me, his hands aligned with mine. I experience his presence as a frequency that supports the field rather than as something that replaces my own consciousness or authority.

That distinction became important.

Because eventually I understood that perhaps the greatest gift of these experiences was not simply discovering someone I loved somewhere beyond Earth. It was discovering what kind of love my own heart was capable of holding.

Spirit once gave me an understanding that changed how I viewed the entire experience: I could not have perceived love at that frequency if something within me were not capable of meeting it. That realization brought the experience home.

Instead of asking: How do I get back to him?

The deeper question became: How do I embody that quality of love here, on Earth?

That is where the architecture of coherent relationships begins.

The Greatest Intimacy

I have written before that the deepest intimacy is not with another person. It is with yourself.

I mean this profoundly.

To know yourself beneath your roles, wounds, accomplishments, relationships, expectations, and identities is an intimate act.

I call that eternal aspect of ourselves the Golden One—the radiant consciousness beneath the human story that remembers what we are even when the personality has forgotten.  When we begin developing a relationship with that deeper self, the relationship itself changes.

We stop asking another human being:

Tell me I’m worthy.

Tell me I’m beautiful.

Tell me I’m safe.

Tell me I’m enough.

Don’t leave me.

Complete me.

Instead, we begin learning to hold those truths within ourselves. That doesn’t mean we stop needing people. It means we stop abandoning ourselves in order to keep them. And there is an enormous difference.

Relationships Are Mirrors

Earth relationships can be extraordinarily difficult precisely because they expose the places where we are not yet coherent. Relationships reveal our abandonment wounds.

Our need for approval.

Our fear of rejection.

Our jealousy.

Our insecurity.

Our desire to control.

Our inability to receive.

Our difficulty establishing boundaries.

Our belief that another person’s behavior determines our value.

Every relationship becomes information.

That doesn’t mean abuse, betrayal, or harmful behavior should be spiritually excused. Coherence sometimes means leaving. Sovereignty sometimes means saying no. Love does not require us to remain where our dignity, safety, or integrity is continually violated.

But even after we leave, we can ask: What did this relationship reveal to me about myself?

Where did I abandon myself?

Where did I silence my truth?

Where did I confuse attachment with love?

Where did I expect someone else to provide something I had never learned to give myself?

And perhaps most importantly: What am I ready to choose differently now?

That is the work of the Architect.

Recognition Is Not Possession

There is another lesson I have learned through my spiritual experiences. Recognition does not equal possession. Even when we experience someone as a soul mate, soul family, a partner from another lifetime, or an extraordinarily familiar consciousness, that recognition does not give us ownership of another being.

Nor does spiritual recognition automatically mean two people should build a human life together.

Sometimes recognition comes to awaken us.

Sometimes someone enters our life for decades.

Sometimes for a season.

Sometimes for a single encounter.

Sometimes, in my experience, the relationship seems to exist beyond the boundaries of physical incarnation altogether.

The question is not always, “How do I keep this person?”

Sometimes the more powerful question is: What did this love awaken within me that I am now meant to become?

That changes everything.

Frequency Is Recognition

My spiritual experiences have led me to think of consciousness as the recognition of resonance. We often say, “Where attention goes, energy flows.” I would take that further.

Where consciousness becomes coherent, recognition becomes possible.

As we become quieter within ourselves, we may begin to notice things we previously could not perceive—our intuition changes. Our dreams change. Our relationships change. The people we are drawn toward may change.

The things we once tolerated become uncomfortable. The relationships built on an older version of ourselves may begin to fall away.

This can feel like loss. But sometimes it is reorganization. As our inner architecture changes, our external relationships often reorganize around it.

There Is No Perfect Partner

One of the greatest illusions we can let go of is the idea that somewhere there is a perfect human being who will remove every wound from our lives.

There is no perfect partner.

There are human beings. Beautiful, complicated, evolving human beings. A coherent relationship isn’t created because two flawless people finally find one another.

It is created when two people become increasingly capable of remaining connected to themselves while also remaining open to one another. That means I can love you without disappearing into you.

I can hear you without abandoning what I know.

I can honor your path without controlling it.

I can disagree with you without withdrawing love.

I can establish a boundary without making you my enemy.

I can celebrate your expansion without diminishing myself.

I can stand beside you without asking you to become the source of my identity.

That is coherent partnership.

The Architecture of Two

Architecture requires structure. A building cannot remain standing if its foundation continually moves beneath it.

Relationships are similar.

If my center depends entirely upon your mood, your approval, your attention, or your presence, then I have built my foundation inside another person.

Eventually, the structure becomes unstable. But imagine something different. Two people standing within their own centers. Two sovereign beings. Two lives. Two histories. Two expressions of consciousness. Neither asking the other to disappear, nor demanding completion from the other.

And between them, something new emerges: a third field.

The relationship itself.

That field can be built consciously.

Truth strengthens it.

Respect strengthens it.

Communication strengthens it.

Boundaries strengthen it.

Presence strengthens it.

Freedom strengthens it.

And love moves through it.

This is what I mean by the architecture of coherent relationships. We are not merely finding relationships. We are building them.

When Judgment Becomes a Doorway

Relationships also teach us about judgment. It is easy to look outward. How someone dresses. What they believe. Who they love. How they live. What they have accomplished. How spiritually aware we think they are.  But judgment can become an invitation to self-inquiry.

Why does this activate me?

What am I defending?

What am I afraid of?

What does this reveal about the architecture inside me?

This doesn’t mean discernment disappears. Discernment is essential, but discernment and judgment are not identical.

Discernment says: This is not aligned with me.

Judgment says: You must become different for me to be at peace.

Coherence allows us to know the difference.

What My Husband From Sirius B Taught Me

I once believed the extraordinary part of my Sirius B experiences was that I had found my husband somewhere across time and space. Today, I understand something deeper, more profound.

The extraordinary part was discovering the capacity of my own heart. That experience showed me a frequency of love I could recognize. But eventually I had to stop looking only toward another world and ask: Can I live that love here?

Can I bring it into my relationship with myself?

My children?

My family?

My friends?

My clients?

Animals?

Nature?

A stranger?

Someone who disagrees with me?

Can I remain openhearted without abandoning discernment?

Can I love without possessing?

Can I remember without escaping the life I came here to live?

Because perhaps the purpose of touching another frequency of love is not to make Earth unbearable by comparison. Perhaps it is to bring more of that love into Earth.

Becoming the Architect

The deepest relationships do not come to complete us. They come to reveal what within us is ready to become whole.

So, I leave you with these questions:

Are you ready to become whole?

Are you willing to know yourself beneath the identities you have accumulated?

Are you willing to stop abandoning yourself to receive love?

Are you willing to look at what your relationships have been teaching you?

Are you willing to meet the radiant, eternal aspect of yourself, the Golden One, and begin living from that relationship first?

You do not need another person to prove your worth. You do not need another person to give you consciousness. You do not need another person to complete your architecture.

Relationships can accompany your wholeness. Relationships can challenge your wholeness. Relationships can reveal your wholeness, and relationships can become one of the most beautiful places in which wholeness is expressed. But the foundation begins within.

We become Architects of relationships when we stop asking another person to hold our center and instead learn to meet one another as sovereign beings capable of creating a coherent field together.

Perhaps that is one of love’s greatest teachings.

Not: Complete me.

But: Meet me.

I will stand here in the truth of who I am.

You stand in the truth of who you are.

And from that place, let us discover what love is capable of building.

Reflection

What have your relationships revealed about your relationship with yourself?

Where have you mistaken attachment for love, or self-abandonment for partnership?

What would change if you stopped searching for someone to complete you and began meeting yourself as already whole?

And if you have ever experienced a relationship that felt strangely familiar—through a person, a dream, a memory, or an inexplicable recognition—perhaps instead of asking only, Who were they to me?, ask: What did this love come here to awaken within me?

The deepest relationships do not come to complete us. They come to reveal what within us is ready to become whole.

TAKE ACTION: Today, choose one small moment to express an honest preference to someone you trust, rather than agreeing simply to keep the peace. You can care about their feelings while giving your own a place in the conversation. What might change if you allowed yourself to be known more fully?
