As I write this, I am reflecting on the past few months to see what has gone well in my life and business. It is wonderful to realise that I have met many of the goals that I set for myself.

How have you found the past few months?

What have you enjoyed the most?

Cathy Shuter - Awakened Magazine

We can do this at any time of year. I particularly enjoy doing this at the time of the Winter and Summer Solstice.

I love reflecting on enjoyable moments, whether they be planned or unexpected.

I also look back at the challenges and the things that didn’t work out as planned. This can be less comfortable, but for me, it helps me learn and grow.

If I set a goal and it didn’t work out, there could be clear reasons for this. Perhaps the goal wasn’t divided into enough achievable steps, for example.

Some things turned out as I planned, but I didn’t feel as happy about the outcomes as I had expected to. Have you experienced this too?

Other things turned out differently from the way I hoped, and if I am honest, they turned out better than I imagined.

This leads me to conclude that there is a lot of truth in the affirmation, “Life happens for me, not to me.”

Every time I set my intentions, I choose an affirmation to guide me in the months ahead.

This is the affirmation that I have chosen to live by for the next few months.

Cathy Shuter - Awakened Magazine

When I say this affirmation to myself, it helps me to stop overthinking decisions. It reminds me that things have a tendency to work out, and I don’t have to stage-manage every aspect of my life. This supports my current intentions to focus on my writing, look after my body, and develop the wellbeing club I run.

What are your intentions for the coming months? What affirmation will you choose to support your next exciting chapter of this adventure called life?

Here are 10 affirmations that I love, with reasons why they are so helpful. You might decide to adopt some of them yourself

Ten Uplifting Affirmations:

  1. Everything is happening exactly as it should. I love saying this. It reminds me to trust that everything really is ok.
  2. One step at a time is good walking. This is a brilliant Chinese proverb that encourages me to keep going.
  3. I am enough just as I am. I find this so encouraging and supportive.
  4. I am learning, and it’s ok to make mistakes. This helps me overcome challenges and setbacks without getting frustrated with myself.

  6. I am open to magic and miracles! This helps me remain open-minded and hopeful. We never know what loveliness might be waiting for us just around the corner.
  7. I am making a difference in the world. I like to remind myself that each day I do things to help make the world a kinder, fairer place.
  8. I choose to notice all the good things today. This ensures that I take time to look around and see all the beauty in the world. This is so important.
