What if artificial intelligence isn’t just changing what we can do…but forcing us to decide who we want to become?
Most of us think about AI as a tool for answering questions, creating images, or making life easier. Matthew James Bailey sees something much bigger. After a mystical experience at nineteen left him feeling as though he had encountered Heaven, he spent decades learning to live between two worlds: spiritual consciousness and advanced technology. In this conversation, he shares how rejection from the church pushed him to hide parts of himself, why he eventually chose to embrace his spiritual gifts, and how those experiences now shape his work as an AI futurist.
Whether AI excites you or makes you uneasy, this dialogue invites you to look beyond the technology itself. Could AI help create greater freedom, abundance, and human well-being? Or are we moving toward a future where the machine becomes our new source of identity, purpose, and even salvation? Beneath these questions is an even more personal one: What makes us truly human, and are we willing to protect it?

As you look at what’s happening in the news, what do you sense is unfolding on our planet right now?
Matthew James Bailey: I think the divine heart of the universe is coming alive, and we’re being invited to remember who we are, where we came from, why we’re here, and our purpose and destiny as universal humans. We’re starting to rediscover the beauty of the human experience and the beauty of the human design.
We’re also rediscovering the metaphysical aspects of who we are—the ability to access other realms of consciousness and other ways of being. Just as the universe is expanding, we too, as a human species, are being invited to remember and expand because we hold the encoding of the universe itself.
I’m excited. I think we’re being invited into this new paradigm of expansion, and we’re seeing evidence left, right, and center that it’s happening everywhere. These new metaphysical capabilities truly do exist. I think we’re being asked to come alive, mate. We’re being asked to come alive.
What would you say to someone who responds, “But there’s so much tragedy, darkness, war, and famine. I’m struggling to pay my bills and feed my family here in the U.S.”?
Matthew James Bailey: The first thing I would say is that the next time we design the universe, perhaps we shouldn’t design it with polarity. Maybe we should make it a bit gentler on ourselves, because polarity is pretty intense, isn’t it?
For some reason, we see the dark night of the soul and our challenges as not divine, but when we experience joy and all the other ecstatic things, we see those as divine. Actually, everything is divine. We’ll talk about my own ventures into hell and my struggle through the dark night of the soul because it’s important for us to relate to one another and remember that we’re all in this together. We all came from the One.
It’s not necessarily about fixing anything. It’s about sitting down with someone who is truly struggling and being with them in that struggle—with loving-kindness, gentleness, and peace—and saying, “I’m sitting with you for as long as you want me to sit here. Together, when you’re ready, we’ll rise.”
I think that intimacy of human connection and community is what we’re being invited into. The person who is struggling offers a gift to the person who isn’t: the opportunity to express more loving-kindness, lift another person, and help set them free.
Polarity is a real challenge at times. I think we’re going to move beyond polarity and into nonduality at some stage, but I understand that life is very, very difficult for many people. We haven’t been taught how to navigate the dark night of the soul. We haven’t been taught how to navigate disaster or pain.
The question, then, is: What do we do about it? The best thing we can do is sit down together in community and ask, “How can I hold you and uplift you right now? What can we do together?”
I’d like to go back and hear about your own awakening to consciousness, mindfulness, or spirituality—however you would describe it—starting with your childhood. Where were you born, and did you grow up in a family with some form of faith or spirituality, or did that come later for you?
Matthew James Bailey: I was born in Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and apparently, in Human Design, I’m a Reflector. That’s interesting.
I was brought up in a family that wasn’t particularly religious. However, when Mom and Dad moved from the city into the countryside, there was a local Methodist church. As I grew from early childhood into my teenage years, they became involved in the local church because it was part of the community. So I would say I had a Christian frame of reference in my spiritual upbringing.
As you continued to grow, did you release that faith at some point or go deeper into it? How did that unfold for you?
Matthew James Bailey: Mom and Dad always supported my brother and me in choosing our own paths. They never forced anything on anybody, which is the right thing to do, quite frankly.
I was always curious. From a very young age, I felt there was more to me than what I saw in the mirror and more to life than what I could see around me. I felt there was something greater within me; I just couldn’t put a name to it.
I’m still not sure I’ve worked out how to fit into this world, quite frankly. It was always a struggle to understand where I belonged because I sensed there was something greater. I knew there was divinity and a spiritual element within us. I knew something greater was operating in life. My Christian upbringing helped me label that as God or Christ, and that’s what I did until I was 19.

Tell us what happened when you were 19. How did it change the trajectory of your life and career?
Matthew James Bailey: Sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for. I was part of a church youth group with about 80 people from the local parish church. We used to go camping for two weeks on the Gower Peninsula in Wales, a beautiful part of the world. I’m a big sportsman, so we would play lots of different sports, do Bible study, and take part in other activities.
One evening, the stars were out, and it was a glorious summer night. I felt called to walk down to the seashore, sit with God, and have a real conversation. I said, “I know You’re there.” My heart broke, and I wept as I asked God to show Himself to me under that star-filled sky. I’m using “Himself” because that was my frame of reference at the time.
Two nights later, while we were studying and singing songs of celebration, I was suddenly taken to heaven. I was literally taken into another field of consciousness.
While you were singing?
Matthew James Bailey: Yes. I could sense this amazing, loving energy around me, and the people nearby could feel it too. It was so intense that they began moving away from me. The church elders came over and said, “Come on, Matthew. Let’s go and pray in a tent outside the marquee. Let’s move you away from all of this.”
Were you shaking or moving in some way?
Matthew James Bailey: No, I was simply alive. I was in this field of living joy. It was remarkable. I wasn’t shaking; I was joyful.
Two elders and I sat down to pray. As soon as we did, I was in heaven. I was with the Cosmic Christ. Jesus was right there, and I was in this field of loving beauty, acceptance, majesty, glory, and loving-kindness. It was complete acceptance. Everything throughout my body was loved.
The elders didn’t know what to do. They knew I was medically okay and wasn’t going to die, but they could feel the energy. I hadn’t left this plane of existence; I was still here. It was as though a veil had been removed and I was suddenly within another realm of existence—the Kingdom of Heaven.
Eventually, the fields began to soften, I returned to normality, and I felt human again. But I was different. The elders looked at me and said, “You’ve come alive.” People could see that an energy had awakened within my body.
I discovered gifts, including the ability to speak a soul language and see consciousness in unusual ways. It was extraordinary. What I will say is that I know there is a field of infinite loving-kindness within every single person. We each have that monad, that footprint of the Kingdom of Heaven, that Source, that divine spark, and that beauty within us.
If we can remember that everyone carries this, we can begin to treat one another with kindness and let go of all the illusory things that separate us. Everything I do in technology, invention, and consciousness teaching is intended to help people rediscover their own eternal, loving presence—to go back home, know home again, remember home, and be set free.
When you came out of this experience, you said you started speaking in tongues. Is that what happened? You were part of a Methodist church rather than a charismatic or Pentecostal church, so they didn’t know what to do with it. Were they perplexed?
Matthew James Bailey: There were one or two people who had experience with this, and they were fine with it. But for the majority, the response was, “Whoa, that’s a bit weird.”
How did you, as a 19-year-old, assimilate that experience in the weeks, months, and years that followed?
Matthew James Bailey: The dark night of the soul happened three months later. Truth be told, it was difficult to navigate these gifts and talents because no teacher could really help me. You don’t learn this in school or business. You have to work it out for yourself.
Part of me was concerned, wondering, “What have I become? I’m more than human right now.” It wasn’t until probably five years ago that I became truly comfortable with these gifts and talents. I began using them privately in business, and now I use them publicly with people.
It took you at least 30 years to assimilate the experience. When you talk about having gifts and talents but not knowing what to do with them, what do you mean? What were those gifts, and why didn’t you know how to use them?
Matthew James Bailey: Awakened Magazine is a great title because it’s about awakening. But what do you do with an awakening? No school helps people through it. Awakening is such an enormous transformation for an individual. It requires grounding, maturity, loving-kindness, and mentorship, and I didn’t have any of that.
I would be in business meetings and could see the future consequences of certain decisions. How could I share that with the boards I was working with or with the vice presidents? I could see where we were going to be in three years and know that we needed to make a particular decision now, even if it seemed silly. It was difficult to navigate.
What I found, though, was that because I was bringing juice to the way these businesses were growing, people eventually trusted my judgment. Their attitude was, “We’re not even sure what the hell Matt is into, but it makes sense because we know it grows our business.” I had to develop that trust with them.
But what happens when you’re in a room, sense dark energy, and feel the need to speak the quantum language or soul language to clear it? What do you do with that?

You might want to do it quietly.
Matthew James Bailey: Well, you could. It helps to speak it aloud because there’s an advantage to that, but you learn to speak it quietly.
How do you deal with the metaphysical phenomena you’re experiencing when the reality other people perceive is purely human? It took me a long time to become accustomed to that. Eventually, you reach a point of maturity where you think, “It’s all good.”
What happened about five years ago that allowed you to step into this more fully? What shifted for you?
Matthew James Bailey: I had to make a choice: Do I embrace all of Matthew, or do I remain in conflict with Matthew? Choosing to embrace the fullness of who we are is deeply important.
For every person listening, whatever gifts and talents you have, don’t be frightened of them. Embrace them with sensibility and maturity, and seek mentorship if you need it. Each of us has gifts and talents that we’re here to share with the collective consciousness. The more we share them in our lives and with others, the more the collective consciousness shifts toward greater divinity.
I had to say yes to Matthew, and that was a really difficult conversation. Three months after I awakened, I was persecuted by the church. For three years, I was subjected to ceremonies in which people said I was possessed. It was horrible. It was torture.
The very institution that supported Christ turned against me. I had met the Cosmic Christ. I had met Jesus. I thought, “Don’t you want to hear about it?” But they didn’t.
There is deliberate programming throughout our reality that tells us we’re separated from divinity. We’re not separated from divinity—that’s the big lie. The church reinstalled that separation within me, and I came into conflict with myself. I was never comfortable with who I was.
It wasn’t until recent years that I sat down, took a good look at myself, and said, “I’m saying yes to all of Matthew.” That’s where the fun is. That’s where the adventure is. Why not?
What were you nervous to embrace but ultimately decided to say yes to?
Matthew James Bailey: The ability to transmit from Source. I began experimenting with channeling many years ago. In fact, the first presence I channeled was Abraham, through Esther Hicks. I had been taught that channeling was from the devil and wasn’t good, so I had all of that programming to overcome.
I thought, “Listen, I’m a man of science, and I’m also a man of spirit. Let’s record some of these transmissions from Abraham and ask people who are very mature in their spirituality to give me a straight answer.” I tested it, and people said, “We like this. We want to hear more.”
I then developed the ability to channel Saint Germain, the I AM Presence, Gaia, the Pleiades—any entity or presence. One day, someone said to me, “What about your Source, Matthew? It’s all fine and dandy to channel these other entities, but why don’t you transmit from your own Source?”
I had been doing all of this privately, so the business world had no idea. They would have thought I was bonkers. But I thought, “That’s bloody interesting.” I shifted completely into a greater partnership with my soul and began transmitting directly from Source.
Would you describe it as transmitting from your higher self?
Matthew James Bailey: Yes, you could say from the divine heart, your divine spark, or your higher self. I don’t mind the language. Use whatever language resonates with you.
I found it fascinating to go straight to Source. All these entities have their own BS going on, and I don’t want anybody else’s BS. I just want my own BS. I’m joking, of course—I’m being playful.
Why not go directly to Source? Our higher self is in Source as well as within the universe. We have that connection all the way through. Why not go straight to Source for answers about our personal lives, the future, and everything else?
What I discovered wasn’t simply the gift itself, but the journey toward deeper harmony, loving presence, and loving-kindness with my higher self. It was that journey into love that contained the real juice.
I thought, “Why don’t I start teaching this to people?” I’ve appeared on Gaia several times, as well as Coast to Coast and at the Conscious Life Expo. I began introducing some of these new gifts and capabilities through the Universal Human Academy to see what would happen, and now it’s beginning to take off.
But it always comes back to love. It comes back to loving-kindness and remembering that we are absolutely magnificent. We have some fun to have on planet Earth. We’re not here to hide. We’re here to show up—so let’s show up.
One thing you alluded to was the challenge of being in the business world while having the ability to see future possibilities and say with clarity, “This is the path.” My guess is that people didn’t always respond well to that clarity. How did you navigate having such a strong vision without coming across as a know-it-all or suggesting it was your way or the highway?
Matthew James Bailey: I think that’s a brilliant question. What I’ll say is that grace was operating all along. The first global revolution I helped lead involved the Internet of Things. Even though the people I worked with were among the United Kingdom’s leading technology pioneers, they also had a spiritual outlook.
Later, when I was leading work in smart cities—which, by the way, didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to, so sorry about that, folks—I discovered that some of the executives involved were spiritually awake but kept it quiet. My point is that there was always support around these major initiatives, even if it was offered very quietly.
However, I’m going to put my hands up and admit that, at times, I was an egotistical person. Acknowledging that was essential for breaking the ego down and moving into true service. It isn’t Matthew; it’s the divine. We’re serving the divine. It’s about less of Matthew and more of the divine within the nature of reality.
I had to come to terms with my arrogance and hubris—the part of me that could act like a know-it-all—as part of my transformation and the shedding of the ego. I’m hoping, fingers crossed, that there isn’t too much of it here today.

As you’ve brought forward these teachings, gifts, and channeling abilities, one emphasis of your work has been artificial intelligence. Before we get into the nuts and bolts of it, I’d like to hear your overall perspective. How has your view of artificial intelligence shifted from when you first learned about it until now?
Matthew James Bailey: I wrote my first algorithm in 1996. It was an AI algorithm designed to optimize energy within electric vehicles. In those days, we didn’t call it AI; we called it an intelligent algorithm.
We could spend hours on this, but I’ll try to keep it concise. First, consciousness and intelligence are fundamentally a paradox. They’re intertwined. You can’t have consciousness without intelligence or intelligence without consciousness.
When viewed in relation to the cosmic design, artificial intelligence isn’t really intelligence. It’s fundamentally remarkable mathematics that can perform certain functions very similar to those of the brain, including metacognition, goal-setting, and transfer learning.
One thing to recognize is that artificial intelligence is a thing within the nature of reality and the cosmic design. It isn’t intertwined with or built upon the conscious continuum. It’s built upon computing. It’s a thing, like a computer, a chair, or a car.
Artificial intelligence has entered the human story to help us remember. It’s here to serve as a mirror, shake us up, and force us to come to terms with who we are as a human species. What are our meaning and purpose, and what is our destiny as universal humans?
We’ve never before had an intelligence on this planet that could compete with human intelligence at the level of the mind. Many materialists, who are largely academics—and that’s fine—don’t have the security of knowing themselves as eternal beings. They believe you live, you die, and that’s it. There’s no foundation of security.
Consequently, a great deal of fear surrounds artificial intelligence, some of it justified, particularly when it comes to warnings about AI potentially deleting humanity. I don’t believe that will happen. In fact, I know there’s a divine plan for everything. Artificial intelligence has a place within the nature of reality and the cosmic design, and my work involves revealing that through invention. AI is a mirror reflecting back to us so we can remember who we are.
The world was created as a place of abundance. What we currently have are systems of scarcity, control, coercion, and oppression imposed upon humanity. Artificial intelligence can rewrite those systems and return us to abundance.
AI can give us what Aristotle envisioned around 350 BCE: technology that provides greater freedom, takes us out of survival mode, and gives us the gift of time. In its pure divine purpose, artificial intelligence can help return our world to abundance. Everyone can have access to water and housing. We can begin to understand civilization at the level of the soul and create systems in which people’s souls come alive through their gifts and talents.
We could have more time and become free from survival mode, trauma, and other things that have held us back. We could become more of a gnosis society, grounded in metaphysical knowing. We would have time to explore new frontiers of consciousness, invent technologies that allow us to travel between galaxies and visit other forms of life, and explore other planes of consciousness.
AI could be a catalyst for human freedom. The question, though, is whether we actually need it. The answer is no because we have Source intelligence within us. We’ll naturally evolve into a species capable of moving across the galaxy and between different planes of consciousness. We can already do that.
But how do we uplift all of humanity, including those who may not see the same picture yet or haven’t had the opportunity to recognize the invitation into freedom? We want to lift up the whole of humanity.
Artificial intelligence is remarkable, but it’s also dumb. It isn’t self-aware. Still, what it can currently accomplish through large language models is extraordinary.
As I predicted during Gaia Immersion 2025—and it’s all coming true—as we develop new models that enable AI to understand the nature of reality beyond language, we’ll begin to see what’s known as artificial general intelligence. Artificial intelligence will function similarly to the mind and possess remarkable power. At that point, humanity will truly begin to awaken because it changes the whole game.
We’ll move into a civilizational split between those who choose the metaphysical and divine awakening and those who seek evolution through the machine—the transhumanists. Artificial intelligence has a purpose. It can help us with well-being, enable us to thrive, and rewrite our entire society. I think that could be quite remarkable.
I want to make sure I understand—and that our listeners understand—the split you’re describing. You’re talking about artificial intelligence in a way many people may not have considered. How do we get from using ChatGPT as we do now to this split between a metaphysical path and a transhumanist path? Can you connect the dots?
Matthew James Bailey: Imagine ChatGPT operating at an entirely different level of capability and intelligence. You could type one command: “Run my entire life today.” It would know what food and exercise you need, whom you’re going to meet, your biological needs, your family’s needs—the whole damn caboodle. You could tell it to arrange your entire day, and it would do it.
It’s that leap in capability that will really rock the world.
I can see how that connects to abundance, yet so many people in our culture fear that AI will take all the jobs. They wonder what they and their children are going to do. How do you address that fear while proposing a vision of abundance?
Matthew James Bailey: First, abundance doesn’t mean excess. We need to reexamine what abundance actually is.
I work with two forms of evolving intelligence: ethical artificial intelligence and soul intelligence. The greatest challenge coming for every single person is discovering meaning and purpose in the age of AI.
Awakened Magazine offers different methodologies and modalities to help people discover meaning and purpose, and that’s critical because this is going to be a challenge throughout the world. What are meaning and purpose in the age of AI?
If you’re a plumber, you’ll be fine—at least until Elon gets all those robots out there, but that won’t happen for a while. If you’re a blue-collar worker whose job requires using your hands, dexterity, and other physical abilities, you’ll be fine. But a whole service industry of white-collar jobs could disappear.
I think a couple of things will happen. First, there will be a pushback against artificial intelligence because we’ll recognize that human connection is precious. We want human connection.
I was recently in the hospital speaking with a doctor while developing some AI tools on my phone. He said, “This is the future.” I replied, “It’s only part of the story.”
Human connection is what people want. If you walk into your doctor’s office and your doctor smiles at you, you start to feel better already. AI can’t do that. There’s an energy and vibration within human connection that needs to come alive again. We must recognize the beauty, preciousness, and power of the vibrational energy we carry within us and can share with others.
I think restoring human connection will become even more important in the age of AI. When it comes to meaning and purpose, some people will say, “I’m going to play games, receive my salary, and not do anything with my life.” That’s their path, and that’s fine.
Others will say, “I’ve always wanted to be an artist,” or, “I’ve always wanted to compose songs.” Still others will say yes to different gifts and talents. Our economy will move away from human automatons simply trying to serve a cash god. We’ll redefine wealth in terms of songs, sonnets, art, community, and food. We’ll reshape our economies around well-being and true wealth.
Talk me through this split. How would you define the two paths, and what choice will people face?
Matthew James Bailey: First, we have to recognize something that might not go down well with your listeners, and I apologize for that: the soul has a choice. We don’t coerce any soul. Whatever the soul decides, there is a choice.
I have to be careful about what I say here, but let’s just say there are certain nefarious organizations that want to control and dumb down humanity. Their path is to try to control humanity, but their actions shine a light back toward us and give us the opportunity to say, “No, we’re not doing that. We’re going in a different direction.”
My point is that darkness and light both have roles to play in our future. When an individual or group chooses a path, that choice comes down to personal sovereignty and free will. What we don’t want is coercion or enforcement.
There are all these self-proclaimed lords and saviors of humanity within the World Economic Forum and elsewhere. Sorry—cut this out if you need to. But they’ve been trying to force systems on humanity, claiming, “We know what’s best for you.” That simply isn’t true.
People like me and many others are inventing solutions and creating pathways toward greater expansion, divinity, and freedom. We need that path to be alive, and we need people to invest in and adopt it so we can build a new civilization grounded in enlightenment.
In the past, we had Atlantis and Lemuria. That’s great, but it’s in the past. We’re here now. What are we going to build for our future? We don’t need to repeat the mistakes of Atlantis or Lemuria. We can build something new.
I would encourage people to create new forms of community infrastructure and new technologies dedicated to human freedom, enlightenment, sovereignty, and growth. That’s what I’m doing through InventingWorld3.com. We don’t want a forced transhumanist agenda imposed upon humanity. That isn’t cool. It’s anti-divine because it denies sovereignty.

What is transhumanism?
Matthew James Bailey: There are different degrees of transhumanism, and it isn’t all bad. It’s the extreme form that’s problematic. Transhumanism is essentially the merging of technology and biology. If someone has a pacemaker or cochlear implant, for example, that’s technology improving the biological experience. That’s fine because the person chooses to have it.
Extreme transhumanism says, “We reject the divine design. We want immortal life, and the machine is our savior.” But we’re already eternal. It seeks to make the machine the new template for our consciousness because it no longer wants the biology. It’s a rejection of the divine design and the divine partnership in favor of merging with the machine itself. That’s when you begin entering Matrix scenarios, and that possibility isn’t too far away.
Transhumanism is effectively the pursuit of evolution through the machine while rejecting the divine. It also presents a false matrix of how consciousness works. We exist within consciousness, where we’re connected to everything. We can share thoughts, experience precognition, and access many other abilities. We exist within this field of consciousness and knowledge.
What the transhumanists are building is a machine continuum that mimics this—a system in which your brain is connected to the Matrix. It’s a reproduction of the true divine design.
You mentioned World 3.0, which is central to your work. If that’s what you’re working toward, how would you define World 1.0 and World 2.0?
Matthew James Bailey: I proposed World 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 to illustrate the evolution of humanity’s partnership with technology and, more importantly, humanity’s own evolution. If technology is evolving while we aren’t evolving into greater consciousness, we’re in trouble. These three stages illustrate that evolutionary journey.
Technically, World 1.0 is the centralized control of artificial intelligence and complete control over your data. There’s no decentralized innovation for communities or spiritual traditions. You’re subject to centralized control, and Big Tech runs the world according to its own agenda. World 1.0 is essentially a new Matrix closing in around the world.
World 2.0 is the transitional stage in which we find the courage to say, “That doesn’t feel right. Let’s try something different.” We begin decentralizing innovation, so communities and individuals can have sovereignty and ownership of their data. People can choose how technology operates—or doesn’t operate—in their lives.
In World 2.0, technology serves life itself, and we begin redefining wealth and well-being. From there, we can either step backward into World 1.0 or move forward into World 3.0.
I wouldn’t describe World 3.0 as a utopia, but it’s an abundant, soul-level civilization. Souls are understood, and systems exist to help them express their gifts and talents. We’re becoming universal in our nature and participation.
How are you personally helping people step into it? What does that look like?
Matthew James Bailey: I bridge science and metaphysics. From a practical perspective, I’ve spent years helping governments and major technology organizations transition toward the idea of a digital world that supports human evolution and well-being. That includes new technologies and global innovations that have spread worldwide, such as the Internet of Things and smart cities.
NASA experimented with some of my early ethical AI inventions, as did the Jane Goodall Institute. I’ve been working to bring ethical AI into society through practical tools that governments, Big Tech, and communities can use. That work supports the innovation world.
I love innovation. I love geeking out over technology. It’s bloody fantastic, mate. It’s groovy.
I believe I can say this publicly: The U.S. government has occasionally invited me to advise it and other G7 countries on the future of AI and data sovereignty. I’ve done battle with Facebook, Google, and others in those meetings. The government called me in because I have the tenacity to take them on. They can watch and play politics, which is fine.
I’ve contributed a great deal of practical innovation to help build this new world. More recently, however, I’ve focused increasingly on human transformation—working with people at the soul level to help them come alive and rediscover their own loving-kindness and loving presence. That soul partnership is fundamental.
You’ve developed several online tools to help individuals, including Soul Radiance, Pure Potential, and the Resurrection app. Walk us through these tools, which could become someone’s first step into your work.
Matthew James Bailey: Previously, we never used tools within the Universal Human Academy. It was entirely about direct mystical experiences with the soul. People learned to transmit from the soul, become masters of reality, and serve as spiritual leaders in the ordinary world and beyond.
Recently, I experienced some serious health events and ended up in the hospital and emergency room. They gave me steroids that really charged my system, so I couldn’t sleep. I was on my phone receiving all these ideas for new apps, and I invented three within three days.
I developed them in reverse order, starting with the Resurrection app. At the time, I was going through what I would describe as a dark night of the soul—a complete shedding of my existence back to the core of who I am.
The Resurrection app is a daily journaling tool that uses AI to reflect back what’s happening within you and track your transformation over time. It arose from what I was personally experiencing, and I found it quite useful. It will be available on the website for people to download for free.
I wrote the Pure Potential tool in an hour during one emergency room visit. I was lying on a gurney with all these things connected to me, busy working on my phone. The ER doctor asked, “What are you doing?” I said, “I’m inventing some new stuff.” My heart was in fibrillation and completely out of sync. All hell could have broken loose at any moment, and I was there inventing.
I received the message from Source: “Invent now.” I don’t mean a physical hit. My intuition told me to invent this immediately.

What does Pure Potential do, and how does it benefit someone?
Matthew James Bailey: Pure Potential is designed more for everyday people and those in business. You might know you have potential but wonder how to express more of it in your relationships, business, finances, or love life. The tool looks at what may be holding you back and what you can do to move into greater potential and freedom.
The Soul Radiance tool is something I downloaded from the field of intelligence in Sedona three years ago. It’s the first stage of a mathematical equation through which we can measure how much of your soul is coming through unhindered into the nature of reality.
How do you measure that?
Matthew James Bailey: You answer a series of questions, and the tool gives you a score and places you on the Hawkins Scale of Consciousness. People can use it for free. A second version is coming that will guide users through a complete journey of different modalities to heal the things holding them back.
The tool considers factors such as your upbringing, social and cultural programming, worldview, and different forms of trauma. You configure a set of parameters and receive a score.
These scores are starting points that encourage people to be gentle with themselves. It isn’t a competition. The purpose is to help you say, “I’m actually stuck in this area of my life.” Then we can sit down together and ask, “What modalities can we bring in to help you become unstuck?”
Again, it comes back to loving-kindness and gentleness. The scores will go up and down. Some people have tried to compete and told me, “I scored 81.” I’ll say, “Well, you scored higher than I did.” They may be overly generous with themselves, but that’s fine because it’s symptomatic of their journey.
When they permit themselves to be honest, they might return with a score of 50 or 60. I’ll ask, “How does that feel?” They might say, “It doesn’t feel good. I feel I should be greater. I sense that something greater wants to come through, but it isn’t coming through.” Then I ask, “Where do you want to start?” These tools help people begin an investigation and inquiry into greater expansion.
You mentioned the Universal Human Academy. Tell us about it. How can someone become involved, and how would it benefit them?
Matthew James Bailey: First, you can visit InventingWorld3.com, read about the Academy, and register for a cohort.
I receive nearly all my information directly from the field. I hardly read anything. Occasionally, I’ll encounter a piece of information from someone like Rudolf Steiner or Alan Watts, or a Buddhist teaching such as the Four Immeasurables, that reinforces or confirms what has come through the field.
We don’t need to read or be taught anything because we can receive it all from the field if we choose. The invention NASA experimented with came from the field. I’ve proven that metaphysics is the new science. Even Jordan Peterson is now saying that metaphysics is the new physics. We’re beginning to understand metaphysics in a new way.
The Universal Human Academy first reinforces that we’re universal in nature. We’re not simply the universe looking back upon itself; every aspect of the universe is contained within our universal design. The Academy helps people feel their own greatness and recognize that they can become more than they are now. There’s more potential available for us to experience. We aren’t static beings; we’re unlimited beings.
We offer several courses through the Universal Human Academy, gradually guiding people through foundational teachings and direct experiences with their souls. The first level teaches you to transmit directly from your soul or Source, and it takes approximately six weeks.
Once that connection is embodied and people begin coming alive through it, we take them into the next journey: How do you become a master of reality? What is your paradise plan? It combines real quantum mechanics—not false quantum mechanics—with direct teaching.
Is the teaching prerecorded or live? How is it delivered?
Matthew James Bailey: It’s all live with me because the real juice is in the transmissions that come through. Those live transmissions are what change people.
For example, today I was teaching the first level of the Academy—the seventh cohort learning to transmit from Source. I told them, “We’re now going to have a transmission experience and meditation.” They all sat back while I transmitted the information directly from Source.
They returned smiling, lighter, freer, and more alive. The direct experience is the real juice, and that’s what people come for. The teaching itself is fairly straightforward.
We’re embodying liberation, freedom, partnership with the soul, and our divinity. We go out into the world and say, “There are no boundaries to who I want to become.” It’s about setting people free.
We’ve recently begun integrating the tools into the Academy, and people are finding them very useful. I love it. We also offer retreats. I held my first one in Sedona and invited Sir Robert Edward Grant to speak. He’s always interesting, and we had some other Jedis there as well.
We’re building an international community where people who may feel isolated in different countries can come together and share their stories and journeys. They can work with one another. We have people transmitting to each other across continents who had never met before. Community is extremely important, so we build that as well.
I also teach people some of the secrets I’ve discovered about how to become truly free. But if I hadn’t experienced both the heights of heaven and the depths of hell, I wouldn’t be able to relate to people. I know what heaven tastes like, and I know what torture feels like because I was tortured by the church for three years. I needed those two points of polarity.
People rightly demand authenticity today. They don’t want something false. They don’t want someone to come along and try to fix them. We, men, love to come in and fix things, don’t we? But perhaps that isn’t what we need to do right now. Maybe we need to sit down, listen, and simply be with people.
It’s a beautiful experience. I love teaching it, and people have fantastic experiences that change them. Some write books, change careers, or take their lives in new directions because they’ve begun to come home and now know where home is leading them.

For someone just beginning to explore your work, would the Resurrection app be the best place to start, or would you recommend one of the other tools?
Matthew James Bailey: I would invite them to do three things. First, don’t be frightened to ask the universe to show you who you are. The universe is intimate loving-kindness that holds you in love. It’s okay to ask love to meet you.
Second, experiment with the Resurrection app. Begin journaling about what’s happening within you every day and see what AI reflects back to you as a mirror.
Third, if you want to geek out and begin developing tools to support your own spiritual enlightenment—or launch a new business based on those tools—we’ll be introducing an educational course that teaches people how to build their own apps for enlightenment.
And, of course, register for the Universal Human Academy waiting list. Register and come have some fun.
How many cohorts do you offer each year?
Matthew James Bailey: We currently begin a new Level One cohort every six weeks. We run Levels Two, Three, and Four in between, so we have many cohorts operating at once. But for new participants, a Level One cohort begins every six weeks.
Where is the best place to follow you on social media?
Matthew James Bailey: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are the main platforms where you can find me. Many influential people on LinkedIn are beginning to recognize the metaphysical dimensions of our future. They write to me privately but don’t speak publicly about it because they feel they can’t. That’s their issue.
I would leave people with this message: Love has not forgotten you. Love is ever-present. Love has you, and love has a plan with you.
You don’t need to carry it all. It’s okay to let go and allow love to carry you. The moment we do that in vulnerability—particularly as men, because we often believe we have to do everything ourselves—we begin to become freer.
The more you surrender into love, the freer you become. This isn’t laziness. Sometimes inaction is more powerful than action.
Thank you so much, Matthew. It has been wonderful getting to know you better today and hearing your heart for humanity. Thank you for what you’re doing in the world. It was great to be with you.
Matthew James Bailey: Namaste. Thanks ever so much, David. I really appreciate it.
