When you think of the word, love, what comes to mind? God, Universe, Jeshua, Brahman, Allah, Yahweh, Jehovah, Elohim, your spouse, partner, lover, child, loved one, your passion, pet, or yourself. These may be some of the first thoughts that come to your mind. What if you shifted your focus from your mind to your heart when thinking about love?

If you focus not only on your mind but also on your heart when reflecting on what love means to you, there can be a much deeper connection to your mind, body, heart, and soul, which helps you make better decisions. While it’s important to balance the thoughts that come from your mind and the feelings that come from your heart, when you can find a balance between the two, you will make the best decision for yourself because you are not focused solely on your mind. Whenever you need to make a decision, your heart is the soul of who you truly are, and it’s highly intelligent. If you tap into your heart when thinking of love or making a decision in your life, you may start to notice a sense of lightness or greater peace within and around you. We are taught to think and make decisions with our minds, and I encourage you to consider your heart while balancing fleeting emotions and logic to make informed decisions. I’ve worked with many clients who tend to stay in their minds, and I encourage them, as I’m encouraging you, to make the connection between the heart and mind for the best outcome.

Many of us perceive the world as chaotic, with problems stemming from fear and greed. What if we looked at the world with our hearts instead of our minds? Would we see it differently? Would we act and react differently to people and situations around the world? People tend to stay in their minds and make important decisions from this place, instead of going to their true nature, which is the heart, where we are our most authentic selves. When loving, empowering souls such as Jesus, Jane Addams, Martin Luther King Jr., Oprah Winfrey, Mahatma Gandhi, Brene Brown, Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai, Wayne Dyer, and Immaculée Ilibagiza made decisions from their hearts, monumental change occurred in the world. It will take a lot more of us, coming from our hearts and not just our minds, if we are to see positive change in the world. We all have a choice right now: to continue in the chaos or go to the heart of the matter.

Imagine a beautiful golden thread, see it as love connecting all of us from the past, present, and future. The thread symbolizes our connection to everyone and everything, reminding us that we are all One, come from One, and return to One. When we can live by the golden thread, there will be more peace, love, and equality for everyone in the world. Love is the golden thread that links us all together. When we understand and live from this place, the chaos in the world will begin to lessen. Love is at the core of our existence. We are spirits having a human experience, and once we truly grasp this, we will stop reacting out of fear and return to our hearts, making decisions from love. Unity, working together, letting people be who they are, helping those in need, surrendering greed and judgment, taking care of the Earth, and using your voice from your heart, will positively impact humanity and the planet; this is the golden thread at its best.

When looking at social media, we can see the state of the world. There are many views expressed, some coming from love, while others stem from fear and greed. We must return to our hearts if we are to heal as a whole. When we treat another human being as less than, we are not coming from a place of love, but from fear, judgment, or greed. To keep from judging another, try to put yourself in someone else’s shoes before going straight to judgment. We do not know what someone is truly going through, and you may be the one person who can lift them by simply smiling at them, or even better, not judging them. Are you coming from a place of love if you are judging someone?

Love is at the core, whether you are spiritual, religious, philosophical, atheist, or however you identify. What are we to do? Go to the heart. Get out of your head and back into your heart. The Golden Thread is what unites all of us. This beautiful thread doesn’t give in to fear, doesn’t judge, includes and accepts everyone as they are, protects the planet, and is pure love. See it as the love that connects all of us. This golden thread is peaceful, joyful, and loving. The Golden thread is the answer, and the answer is love.

Before making another decision or judging someone, I invite you to find a quiet place, still your mind, place your hands on your heart, and allow yourself to feel your heartbeat and breathe deeply. Ask your heart to guide you before making decisions or judging someone else. Remember the golden thread that connects everyone and everything back to love and oneness. When we can live by this beautiful golden thread, our world will no longer be in chaos; it will be in a state of love where peace resides. If you want to experience a world free of chaos and filled with love and peace, follow the golden thread.
