The Magic of Not Knowing: Why Mystery Is the Gateway to Spiritual Connection

There’s something about mystery that’s both humbling and magical.

It’s that quiet space between what we understand and what we can only feel — the pause before a message from Spirit comes through, or the moment your intuition whispers something you can’t quite explain but somehow know is right.

We spend so much of life chasing certainty — wanting to know the plan, the outcome, the “why.” But mystery invites us to do the opposite. It asks us to soften. To trust. To be okay with not having all the answers right away.

And honestly, that’s where the real magic begins.

From Control to Curiosity

I’ll be honest — I used to be a total control freak. I wanted to know how everything would play out, when it would happen, and why. I thought that if I could plan enough, I could avoid being caught off guard by uncertainty.

But Spirit had other plans.

Over time (and with a few gentle nudges from the universe), I started realizing that life doesn’t always unfold according to our timelines — and that maybe it isn’t supposed to.

Learning to let go and trust the process hasn’t been easy for me. Believe me, it’s been a journey. But it’s worth it.

I’ve learned that focusing on curiosity instead of control helps me stay out of fear.

When I feel that familiar discomfort of not knowing, I try to shift into wonder: What if this unknown is actually guiding me somewhere better? What if something incredible is waiting just beyond my current understanding?

That shift — from fear to curiosity — changes everything.

The Beauty in Not Having It All Figured Out

I’ve learned over the years that mystery isn’t here to test us — it’s here to grow us.

When we know everything, life loses its sparkle. But when we lean into what we don’t know, the world starts to feel alive again.

In my work as a medium, I never know who will step forward from Spirit. I don’t know what stories will unfold or what messages will come through. But I trust the process completely.

Every reading begins with faith and ends in love.

That’s the beauty of this work — it reminds me daily that the unseen is very much alive, and that love always finds a way to reach us, even from the other side.

When Mystery Becomes Meaning

I never know what’s going to come out of my mouth during a reading. In one session, I was communicating with a teenage son in spirit. He kept mentioning dirty, stinky socks.

At first, I hesitated to say it — after all, it sounded so odd. But he wouldn’t let it go. He showed me what looked like crew socks, and I finally said it out loud.

The mother sitting across from me burst into tears. She raised her hand and revealed a small cloth bag she’d been carrying. Inside it was a pair of her son’s dirty socks. She told me she would sometimes smell them because it made her feel close to him again.

I can’t make this stuff up.

That moment — strange, simple, and deeply personal — was pure evidence of love continuing beyond the physical. That’s what mystery does. It bridges the gap between the seen and the unseen, reminding us that connection is never truly lost.

Trusting Spirit in the Unknown

I’ve grown to love demonstrating mediumship for large groups on TikTok. It’s both exciting and unpredictable — you never really know where Spirit is going to take you. It requires a lot of trust.

Before one of those TikTok Live readings, I kept feeling like I needed to change my clothes. Out of nowhere, I felt drawn to put on my Disneyland sweater. I love that sweater — it’s filled with wonderful memories — but I rarely wear it on camera because the pattern makes it hard to read the screen comments.

Still, I decided to trust the nudge and wear it anyway.

During that Live, I began reading for a woman whose mom came through in spirit. The mom kept talking about a big family trip coming up and mentioned people traveling from different states. What I didn’t know was that the woman’s husband and another daughter were watching the reading at the same time from another location.

Then the mom in spirit started talking about Disneyland.

It turned out the family was in the middle of planning a trip to California to spread her ashes — and they were planning to make a stop at Disneyland, one of her favorite places on earth.

That moment stopped me in my tracks. I looked down at my sweater, smiled, and silently thanked Spirit for reminding me once again that nothing is random — and that mystery often carries messages we don’t yet understand.

Learning to Live with Mystery

You don’t have to be a medium to feel that same connection. Life itself is full of unseen guidance — gut feelings, little coincidences, songs that show up at the perfect moment.

When you stop needing to have it all mapped out, you make space for the universe to surprise you.

When you stop trying to control how everything unfolds, you open the door to something even better than you imagined.

Sometimes, the unknown is the very thing guiding you where you’re meant to go.

A Sacred Invitation

Maybe the goal isn’t to solve life’s mysteries but to experience them. To allow yourself to be curious, patient, and open.
