Through subtle energy work, astrology, and soul-centered coaching, one woman reclaimed her voice, her power, and her sense of belonging—revealing that healing begins in the quiet moment we listen to what the soul longs for.

While inspired by one woman’s real journey, this retelling blends timelines and symbolic themes to illustrate the deeper soul work of healing through connection.

Connection isn’t the result of healing—it’s the force that makes healing possible.

I saw this in my client—we’ll call her Sedna, named for the Inuit goddess cast into the sea by her father—an archetype of the wounded feminine, betrayed by the patriarchy, yet rising with unshakable power.

She didn’t believe she deserved healing or anything at all. She’d been conditioned to feel disconnected from love, beauty, support, and her power.

In her early 60s, Sedna was grieving the recent death of her father, a man who had both hurt and haunted her. His passing stirred more than grief; it unearthed years of betrayal, abandonment, and emotional manipulation. Her family had long exiled her—for refusing to participate in the abuse of the next generation—and she had carried that isolation like armor. Her body bore the toll of it all: fatigue, insomnia, addiction, heartbreak, and a quiet shame that had threaded itself through every corner of her life.

And yet, beneath all that pain, something luminous stirred—a whisper of longing. Sedna dreamed of leaving New York City, living closer to nature, and returning to her art. She wanted to make heart collages. To feel free. To be surrounded by an authentic community, not just noise. She longed for beauty, meaning, and connection, even if she wasn’t sure she was allowed to want those things.

This longing became our starting point.

Starting with the Wish, Not the Wound

Rather than digging into the pain, we began with her desire. I guided Sedna to connect with the energy of what she wanted, not just what she needed to escape. We practiced future-oriented meditation and subtle energy healing to help her feel, in the present, the sensations of already living the life she longed for.

This wasn’t spiritual bypassing. It was an invitation to enter healing through the back door of possibility. It was post-traumatic growth in action—the understanding that trauma is not the end of a story, but a turning point—a moment when new meaning can be born.

Through this lens, healing wasn’t something she had to earn through effort. It became something she could access through connection to her body, to her breath, to her soul.

Awakening Soul Purpose: The Power of the North Node

Sedna’s astrology chart revealed her North Node in Leo—a placement deeply connected to soul evolution through creative self-expression and courageous heart-leadership. According to astrologer Jan Spiller, the North Node reveals the direction of personal growth in this lifetime—the path the soul has chosen to embody, even when it feels uncomfortable.

For Sedna, Leo North Node dynamics meant:

  • Reclaiming a sense of self beyond family identity and generational roles
  • Building a distinct ego no longer defined by trauma
  • Discovering that her choices—even the painful ones—held purpose and integrity, and could be redefined as accomplishments in their own right

We used this framework to activate intention, turning her chart into a spiritual map for growth. Her vision board became a constellation of her becoming.

“I don’t know where to find my people,” she said, tears in her eyes. “But I do know who I want to be when I find them.”

Reclaiming Power Through Insight

She began to journal daily, filling the pages between our sessions with insights, emotions, memories, and future dreams. She sent long, vulnerable emails—evidence not of instability, but of deep processing and integration. She was unlearning helplessness, discovering her capacity for clarity, agency, and spiritual discernment.

She realized something unexpected: her mother’s death had allowed her to begin processing her father’s abuse—and with his passing, a new layer emerged. But she wasn’t ready to forgive or contextualize her mother’s actions as merely a result of pain. Her mother, too, had made choices. Choices that sacrificed her. That truth was raw, and it mattered.

“My father didn’t just hurt me,” she said. “He encouraged my self-destruction. My addictions, my self-neglect, even the ways I gave my body away—he praised it. Because it kept me from ever really becoming free.”

That insight changed everything.

Her coping strategies—overworking, people-pleasing, substances, isolation—weren’t failures; they were protections. Giving up those patterns wasn’t a betrayal of her identity. It was a liberation from it.

Sobriety no longer felt like a punishment. It felt like power.

She grieved. She raged. She made space for joy. She started walking more, experimenting with cooking nourishing meals, and clearing space in her home to welcome creativity back in, even in small, imperfect ways. She spoke to the trees on her morning walks—and she swore they were smiling back.

She wasn’t just healing.
She was remembering who she came here to be.

When the Body Becomes the Messenger

Two weeks after a major energetic shift, Sedna was hospitalized with heart failure and kidney disease. I worried—had we gone too far, too fast? Had I missed something?

But Sedna didn’t see it that way.

“I think my body is helping me focus. I needed something to make this work high stakes. This is my container now—to learn how to love myself.”

It felt like a gift—her body showing her it was time to live, not just survive.

“I think my heart is catching up to what I’m ready to feel,” she said. “It’s time to nourish myself.”

The health scare became the catalyst for a deeper transformation. It gave shape and urgency to the soul work we were doing. It raised the stakes in a way that made her growth impossible to ignore.

And Sedna met that challenge with fierce tenderness.

Opening to the Sacred

The deeper our work went, the more mystical her experience became.

“I think the flowers are laughing with me,” she said one day, wide-eyed and calm. “They’re not out there. They’re with me.”

She began to access what Carl Jung called the numinous—the sacred, ineffable feeling that something larger, wiser, and deeply loving is moving through us and with us.

She had moments of bliss where she felt the entire universe conspiring to love her. She engaged her ancestors and guides, worked with dragon energy and her Avalonian lineage, tracked her dreams, and allowed herself to believe:

“I’m finally ready to have an intention for myself. I deserve that.”

In that moment, healing was no longer about fixing.
It was about being seen. Known. Cherished.
She no longer needed to prove her pain to justify her growth.

Returning to Self-Trust

There were challenges—moments when old habits tried to pull her back. She tested boundaries, pushed for answers, and looked to me for certainty.

But the work was never about dependency. It was about reclaiming authority.

As I maintained clear, compassionate boundaries, she learned to trust herself. She arrived at each session full of insights, questions, and even laughter. And the more she showed up, the more she belonged to herself.

Connection wasn’t something she had to find in others first.
It was something she had to remember within.

Living from the Inside Out

In the months that followed, Sedna began to glimpse her light again—tentatively, imperfectly, and beautifully. She experimented with art again. Laughed more. Set boundaries with grace. She cried, too, and slipped now and then. But she kept returning to herself.

Her health is slowly shifting. Her heart is listening. Her body is asking to be nourished in new ways. And her spirit—though still unfolding—feels closer than ever to the life she longs for.

She no longer carries the story of being broken.
Instead, she carries the truth:
She was always whole, just waiting to be seen in that light.

What Truly Heals

Sedna’s story reminds me that healing doesn’t always come from fixing what’s wrong.
Sometimes, it comes from activating what’s already right—from imagining, to feeling, to embodying.

Connection is not a reward for healing.
It is the healing.

It’s what makes us brave enough to face the shadows.
It’s what allows our nervous system to exhale.
It’s what tells the soul, You are safe now. You belong.

Healing isn’t always a straight line—it moves through spirals, relapses, and revelations. Sedna’s journey is still unfolding, and perhaps that’s the truest part of all.

And sometimes, it only takes one sacred witness to reflect the truth that was there all along:

You are whole.
You are worthy.
You are home.

If Sedna’s journey resonates with something stirring in your own soul – something quietly asking to be heard – you’re not alone.

You don’t have to be fully healed to begin. Sometimes, healing begins the moment we allow ourselves to connect.
