There are moments when a conversation feels less like learning something new and more like remembering something ancient.

Talking with Rev. Lisa Barnett felt exactly like that. Years ago when Lisa was raising three very young children, including twins, the Akashic Record Keepers told her it was time to write and teach—and she genuinely thought they had the wrong person.

Lisa is now a leading teacher of the Akashic Records, helping people access the deeper intelligence of their soul across lifetimes and timelines, and she has written multiple books and teaches thousands how to access this wisdom for themselves. In this episode, you’ll learn how accessing your soul’s galactic wisdom can help you feel less lost, more guided, and deeply at home in your life.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

Before we dive into your own personal journey of awakening and connecting with the Akashic Records, I’m curious—what do you feel is going on in our world right now? From your perspective, what’s unfolding?

Lisa Barnett: The Akashic Record Keepers often talk about how, for many years now, we’ve been in a phase of foundation-building, almost like digging a big hole and bringing up everything that’s been buried. Honestly, I wish I could say we were uncovering treasures, but it’s really been old “garbage”—clearing and releasing so much of it by first bringing it to the surface.

If you were building a physical structure, you’d have to dredge everything up and then sort through it, deciding what’s valuable and what’s not. Humanity has been doing that very intensely for the last five years. This past year, 2025, has especially aligned with completing that process.

What they always remind us is that we’re bringing up old energy and long-standing patterns so we can actually see them—and then release them. When those patterns are invisible, when we’re unaware of the stories we’ve lived inside for hundreds or even thousands of years, we just stay stuck in them.

So I really feel we’re standing on a beautiful precipice. I truly believe that 2026 is going to catapult us forward. I’m thrilled.

It feels like you’re holding a lot of hope.

Lisa Barnett: Absolutely. I really believe the planet’s vibration is high enough—and will continue to rise as she awakens to have a very positive impact on humanity. Not everyone, of course, but many people will raise their consciousness.

We’ll start to see the world differently. We’ll begin to live more fully from the heart—moving into compassion, and eventually into a deeper sense of unconditional love. That’s really where we’re headed with awakening.

The first steps are opening our hearts and beginning to care about the people around us. I believe that’s going to happen for so many, and it will make a huge difference in the world.

Thank you. I’m curious about your own journey of awakening, and I’d love to start with your family life and upbringing. Did you have any kind of spiritual or consciousness experiences as a child, or did that come later?

Lisa Barnett: My parents were agnostic. They came from different religions, and both experiences were a bit of a mess, so neither was a believer. In that way, I was kind of left on my own.

What’s interesting is that when I was about three years old, I became aware that I was in this body with the memory of being a small child, and I started telling my mother that I wanted to go home.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

What did she say?

Lisa Barnett: Poor mom. She said, “But honey, you are home.” She didn’t know what to say. I remember my brother telling me—probably when I was around eight—that my parents thought there might be something a little wrong with me. But really, I was just more aware, more conscious than the average person.

I carried that awareness with me and started studying spirituality when I was about fourteen. My father had Be Here Now by Ram Dass sitting on the coffee table, and I picked it up and thought, There are books like this in the world? That moment really began my journey.

I was completely self-taught. I just started reading everything I could get my hands on. This was the late sixties and early seventies, and a lot of material was coming out at that time.

Were your parents bringing that into the home, or was that something you pursued on your own?

Lisa Barnett: I was pursuing everything. My parents were agnostic, but they were conscious, lovely people. My mother was an elementary school teacher, and my father was an architect—very artistic. They were supportive and aware, especially when it came to encouraging their children.

I studied spirituality throughout high school. I remember having incredible epiphanies from what I was reading, and I could recall past lives where I was a healer. I felt that calling very strongly.

Then I experienced some extreme trauma. My two soul sisters—my very best friends—both died when we were teenagers. I remember thinking, Well, there goes our plan, whatever it was. They’ve left me, so forget it. I’m not doing it. Whatever it was, I wasn’t going there.

I went on to study philosophy at university and then entered the corporate world. At that point, I was a little over spirituality after losing my two soul sisters.

It took a couple of years to come back around—but of course, the Akashic Record Keepers weren’t going to be quiet. My soul wasn’t going to be quiet either. And so my soul and the Record Keepers found ways to keep reaching me.

Wow. And at what point down the line did you really start to say, “Okay, I’m going to re-acquaint myself and dive back into spirituality”? How did that come up for you?

Lisa Barnett: I had worked in advertising for about ten to fifteen years, which is a pretty intense kind of work. It was also a little wild back in the seventies and eighties, I have to say.

Eventually, I developed really bad chronic fatigue. Still not being a very mainstream person, I went to an acupuncturist for help because the regular doctors I spoke to didn’t even know what chronic fatigue was at the time.

I was lucky enough to find an amazing acupuncturist who, after working with me for about a year, said, “I can help you heal your body, but not your soul. You really need to find out what your soul is trying to tell you.” She sent me to a friend of hers who was a phenomenal psychic channel.

This woman looked at me and said, “You’re a healer. Why are you here? You should be doing healing work.” And I remember thinking, Oh my God, I forgot. In the fifteen years after the deaths of my friends, burying myself in work and life and all the craziness of the seventies and eighties, I had completely forgotten.

That was the trigger I needed. I went straight back into studying energy healing and continued studying for many years. Along the way, I opened a small healing center and worked with clients. Occasionally, when the energies really came together and rose, I would hear this phenomenal, big booming voice—expansive information about past, present, future, and all possibilities.

I’d think, Wow, that was amazing. But it would come and go, and I had no idea who it was or what it was. Back in the seventies, eighties, and even the nineties, people weren’t talking about the Akashic Records. It just wasn’t on most people’s radar.

So it took a few years before I finally asked, “Who are you, and why are you talking to me?”

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

My goodness. And at what point did you put words to that—to articulate, “This is the Akasha, I’m tapping into the Record Keepers”? How did that language come to you?

Lisa Barnett: It really arrived as a moment of awareness. What’s interesting is that the woman I studied energy healing with for years actually talked about the Akashic Records, which was very unusual in that world at the time.

She would say that after you clear old energy during a healing, it’s important to fill that space with the person’s highest Akashic energy and wisdom. She described it as going up to the gates of the Akashic Records—the recording of the soul. You weren’t allowed to go in, but you could ask the Record Keepers to fill the person with what they needed.

So every time I did a healing, I would do that. I’d get this image of standing in front of iron gates with marble stairs leading up to a beautiful building. There would be a Record Keeper standing there. I could almost see or feel the energy pouring down into the crown of my client—sometimes like water, sometimes as a symbol—filling their body. I would say thank you, and that was it.

Later, I realized, Oh wow—I’ve been talking to them for years without knowing they could answer back or speak to me. So when I finally asked, “Who is this big booming voice?” and they said, “We are the Akashic Record Keepers,” I was shocked. I thought I didn’t think we were allowed in. I didn’t know I could talk to you.

They explained that the booming voice was really just their way of getting my attention. Once they had it, that voice softened. I could hear them clearly, but more subtly—like a clairaudient inner voice.

I started asking them a lot of questions. One of the first was, “Why was I told we couldn’t talk to you?” They explained that during the Dark Ages, around 1000 AD, the vibration of the Akasha was pulled away from Earth because humanity was misusing easy access to higher realms. When it was pulled away, it slipped out of awareness—and we forgot about it.

For the last thousand years, very few people had access. Mystics, light beings, priests, priestesses, healers, clairvoyants—some could still find the Records, but it was rarely taught.

Edgar Cayce, for example, accessed the Akashic field through a hypnotic sleeping trance.

Quick question for you—just for anyone listening who may not know what the Akashic Records are. You can kind of pick it up from what you’re saying, but would you mind defining what the Akashic Records are, and who the Akashic Record Keepers are?

Lisa Barnett: Yes, absolutely. The Akashic Record is the recording of your soul’s journey throughout all time and space. If you imagine that at some point we individuate from Source, we usually do so as part of a group—this becomes your soul family.

I like to think of it as being born into a little basket of souls, all brand-new. Together, you decide what you want to do, where you want to go—what galaxy, what world, what multidimensional universe you want to explore. And off you go, beginning your individuated soul path.

Every soul has a recording. I often imagine it as a vast library. Your Record Keepers are essentially the librarians who maintain your records for you.

Now, this isn’t physical, and it’s not on Earth. It’s not even energetically stored in your personal field or your Higher Self. We do bring certain information with us to Earth—what I call a “past-life backpack.” It’s like packing your bags before coming here, choosing which past lives or experiences you want access to. We can sometimes tap into that.

But the Akashic Record itself exists within the quantum field. It’s energetically part of Source—it holds one of the highest quantum vibrations there is. And because it exists in this field, with learning, training, and raising our vibration, we can actually transform aspects of our records for our highest good.

And what about the Record Keepers themselves? Do people each have their own? How does that work?

Lisa Barnett: What I’ve been shown is that each soul has about a dozen Record Keepers. What’s interesting is that they operate at different levels.

The Record Keepers once explained it to me this way. Imagine you’ve individuated from Source and you’re hanging out with your soul group, trying to decide where to go and what to do. You’re strolling down the street and suddenly come across this enormous library—maybe it takes up an entire city block. You think, Let’s go in. Maybe we can learn something.

You go inside, start reading, and you love the information. You decide to stay for a while, and they put you to work. Those become your beginning Record Keepers.

These are often the ones who help with more everyday, practical questions. For example, if you open your Akashic Records and ask, What foods are in the highest and best interest of my body right now? Are there allergies or things that would support me that I’m unaware of?—Those newer Record Keepers tend to help with that level of information.

Then there are more advanced Record Keepers—teachers, beings of light—who help with deeper emotional and life questions. They assist with things like healing trauma, understanding soul contracts, navigating relationships, and making decisions. Questions like: Should I take this job? Do I have a soul contract with this person? Is this someone I’m meant to marry?

These questions are still very much about this life, but they’re more complex.

Beyond that are the Akashic Masters. They hold the bigger picture—not just of this life, but across lifetimes. They help us understand which past lives are supporting this one, what gifts we can reclaim, and what karmic patterns or traumas we’re here to work through.

And then there are the Akashic Lords. For me, they usually only show up when it’s time to write another book. They’re not involved in daily questions. They appear because part of my purpose is to help bring the Akashic Records back to humanity.

They’ll say, It’s time to write another book. And I’ll ask, What are we writing about? And they’ll tell me. That’s how I’ve written my four books—each one channeled from the Akashic Lords.

So there are different energies, different roles. And looking back, that big booming voice I heard early on—that was them trying to get my attention, trying to get me on task.

Basically saying, Stop goofing around. You have work to do.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

One thing I’m coming into this conversation with is a preconception—that the people who can talk to the Akashic Records, access them, or give Akashic Record readings are somehow super-special spiritual people. Like, the average person couldn’t do that. I can’t just talk to my Record Keepers because I don’t know what I’m doing. Is that actually true? Can anyone access the Akashic Records, or is it only for people with specific training? Help me understand that.

Lisa Barnett: What the Akashic Record Keepers say is that it is everyone’s birthright to have access to their own Records. Now, that’s different from doing readings for others, offering healings, or starting a school—those are separate things.

But it is very important. When the Record Keepers first began speaking with me, they asked me to help re-anchor the Akashic energy back on Earth. They explained that when it was pulled away, it needed to be brought back through humans in physical bodies. And part of that meant having people who could access the Records, talk about them, and share that information with humanity—bringing it down energetically into the physical body.

When I first started this work, very few people had even heard of the Akashic Records. And if they had, it was usually very vague. People would sometimes say, “Didn’t Edgar Cayce access the Records?” That was about the extent of it. So it was a slow process—over about ten years—of helping bring this awareness back.

How long have you been providing Akashic Record readings and teaching others how to access the Records?

Lisa Barnett: I’ve been in the Records myself for about thirty years.

You’ve been in the record industry for thirty years—I love how that sounds.

Lisa Barnett: A different record industry.

But I started offering readings about twenty to twenty-five years ago. I always have to laugh because that’s when I really start dating myself. Around that time, the Record Keepers said, “It’s time to re-anchor the energy.”

So I did readings for a long time, and then they said, “We want you to start a school.” And I honestly thought they were crazy. At that point, I had three toddlers, and I remember thinking, You’ve got the wrong woman. I have three babies. I’m busy.

But they said, “No, we don’t have the wrong person. It’s just about timing.”

So I said yes. I kept doing readings, started talking more openly about the Records, and began teaching a few people. In the beginning, my classes were tiny—three, four, maybe five people at a time.

This would’ve been pre-Internet, right? You were doing this locally—I’m assuming in the Bay Area?

Lisa Barnett: Yes. I would speak at events like the New Living Expo, and I’d give talks at bookstores—East West Bookstore, for example. There was also a great bookstore in Marin. I’d regularly go speak at local bookstores, sometimes every month.

Occasionally, you could get on a radio show. When I was on Coast to Coast with George Noory, that was a big deal. But mostly, I was just finding places where I could talk to small groups of people—little psychic fairs, local gatherings. That’s literally what I did for a long time.

Over the years, it slowly built. And it was actually perfect for me, because I was raising a family. By the time things really started to expand, the Record Keepers said to me again, “We want you to start a school.”

I was a little argumentative at that point and asked, Why? And they said, “Because you’re very galactic, and we want to give you more galactic access keys that will connect with many, many starseeds on the planet.”

At that time—even ten, fifteen, twenty years ago—people weren’t really awake to the idea that we’re all starseeds. People would say, “What’s a starseed?” They genuinely thought of themselves only as human. So there’s been a long process of teaching over the last twenty years or so.

Over time, they’ve given me eight galactic access keys, delivered as sacred prayers that I teach within my five-step Wisdom Prayer system. All of this has been a long process—writing books, channeling information, asking a lot of questions, and doing readings for people.

That part has been incredible, because so much information actually comes through other people’s Records. I can only be one soul. But every soul—every starseed—has different stories, different traumas, different experiences. So a huge amount of what I’ve learned has come from reading the work of over ten thousand people over the last twenty-five to thirty years.

It’s been a beautiful and very profound process—learning through doing readings.

Another interesting thing is that you have your own library, David. You have your own set of librarians. If I were doing a reading for you, the beings of light that come through would be different from my Record Keepers. They speak differently. They hold different information. You’ve lived different lives—here and in other worlds.

Being able to learn all of that through connecting with clients and students has been phenomenal. There’s so much information. And honestly, ten thousand readings is still just the tip of the iceberg when you consider there are billions of people on the planet.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

Before we move forward, I just feel compelled to say thank you. To dedicate 30 years to helping heal the planet and support others is a huge investment in humanity. There were so many moments where you could’ve said, “This is too much work. Why am I in this little bookstore? Why is this so hard?” But you stayed faithful. So thank you for that.

Lisa Barnett: Thank you.

I’m curious about going deeper with the Akashic Records. And before we talk about the five-step system and the eight Galactic Prayers—which I’m really fascinated by—I want to ask this: what’s the benefit? What’s the real benefit of understanding my past lives or tapping into my Akashic Records, beyond just saying, “Oh, that’s interesting”?

Lisa Barnett: The benefit is huge—because before you decided to come back into a body, your soul created a very complex plan. You have an entire manual stored in the Akashic Records.

So many of us carry questions like, Why am I here? What is my purpose? Why did I choose this family? Should I get married? Have children? Am I supposed to—or not? It can feel like some of these things are decided by someone else, but they’re actually choices your soul made long before you embodied.

The benefit of the Akashic Records is that all the information about why you came here exists within that plan. It includes the souls you wrote contracts with—your parents, your family, even childhood trauma or, in some cases, ease and grace. It holds your purposes—and I say that in the plural, because we come here to do many things.

If you look back at your own life, you’ve had many iterations. I know I have. I spent years in advertising. Then I spent years as a stay-at-home mom with three children. When my twins were born, my son was only a year and a half old, so I suddenly had three toddlers. I felt like I became a preschool teacher overnight.

Two of my closest friends also had twins, so the three of us were raising seven toddlers together. That phase wasn’t just about being a mom—it was about creating a certain energy of motherhood. Joy in motherhood. And that, too, is part of the purpose.

I didn’t just have contracts with my children to be their mother and raise them spiritually. There were also patterns to shift—larger patterns in the world. Every soul contract has layers. Sometimes a contract is to support someone, and sometimes it’s to complete a karmic pattern from another lifetime.

Not all soul contracts are easy. Some are painful, even traumatic. But when we work through them—this is where the Akashic Records become so powerful—we’re working within Source energy. When you open your Records and move into this vibration of pure love, your heart opens. You feel unconditional love.

From that space, you’re able to hold more compassion, kindness, and care for a child, a partner, a family member, a friend. Simply accessing the Akashic Records raises your vibration.

The benefits are numerous. You raise your vibration, which alone is life-changing. You understand your soul contracts and karmic patterns—and not just intellectually. You can actually change them. You can rewrite, heal, and release emotional pain and trauma within the quantum field.

In the Akashic Knowing School of Wisdom, the Record Keepers have guided me even deeper—into the quantum void. It’s an unusual space, but profoundly powerful. To me, it’s the space of creation.

You’re talking about a void. Does every person have their own void, or is there one void? Help me understand that.

Lisa Barnett: There is one void—one vast void—because it’s Source. The creative energy of Source is the void.

Because we’re in human bodies with linear minds, I often use imagery to explain it. That’s why the idea of a library works—even though it’s not literally true. It helps us wrap our minds around the concept: you have a collection of records and a group of beings devoted to helping you access and use that wisdom.

Now imagine billions of those “libraries”—and even more, because there are many souls not currently embodied—all existing within the quantum field. This infinite field of Source isn’t really made of places or spaces. It’s energy.

As we raise our vibration, we’re able to access our Records more easily. And as we heal and release trauma, becoming more conscious, it becomes easier to expand beyond human realms, beyond even galactic realms, and into the void—the nothingness.

In that space, we can actually unwrite—or rewrite—contracts, stories, and lives.

I’m a very visual person. When I finally earned a college degree, it was in commercial photography, so imagery really helps me. When the Record Keepers first brought me beyond the “library” model into this higher vibration of the void, I would experience pure nothingness.

Imagine I’m doing a reading for you. I open your Records, use the access key, and allow myself to shift into this high vibration of love. I’m in nothingness—whiteness. And then you ask a question, like, What’s blocking me from creating greater abundance in my life?

That question draws forth what I see as golden threads spinning. I’m floating inside a ball of light, noticing where the block originates—what lifetimes it comes from. Little spheres of spinning light emerge, becoming accessible.

I might see a lifetime where you were a priest who took a vow of poverty. Another where you felt unworthy and died in poverty. Then maybe ten more lives appear. As they come forward, we focus on them and transmute them—clearing emotional pain, releasing unworthiness, dissolving the energy that became stuck in those stories.

Because there’s no true time or space, those lifetimes are still accessible. They can be healed, upgraded, and transformed. And once that work is done, they return to the void—carrying a new energy and a new story.

Amazing. I’m really curious about these eight Galactic Prayers. How long are they? Can you share one with us? Or are they top secret? I’d totally understand that. But I’d love just a taste—what are they, and how do people use them? I know you have full courses and master training sessions on this, but could you give us a glimpse?

Lisa Barnett: Absolutely. I actually love bringing people into the Akashic Records with me, and I do that by using one of the Galactic Prayers. So how about I do that now—and bring you, me, and all the listeners into the Akashic field together? Maybe we’ll even do a little group healing.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

Okay. I’m ready.

Lisa Barnett: If you’re able to, just sit back and close your eyes.

We invite the greater aspect of our soul to come down and be more fully present in our physical body, right here in this moment. Allow your soul to anchor more deeply into the body—remembering that your soul chose this body and wrote a contract to live here.

As we anchor the soul more fully into the physical form, feel that energy lighting you up from the inside. The energy of your greater soul is becoming present, awakening the body in this now moment.

Now take a slow, expansive breath into your heart center. Invite your sacred heart to open just a little more as we ask the Divine Lords of Unconditional Love to help us fully center in this moment and create sacred space.

Please wrap us in your love and protection. Guide us to the highest realms of the Akasha available to us today. Help us align our multidimensional hearts with divine love and release all resistance.

Lords of the Akashic Records, please guide us to the deepest truth we can access now. Support us in healing and releasing anything that no longer serves our true path. We offer great thanks for your divine love and support on this journey.

Now take another slow, deep breath. Imagine a beautiful, silvery-blue column of light from the quantum Akashic field of Source descending around you. I see it surrounding the entire planet, knowing that people all over the world are listening.

Feel the presence of your Akashic Record Keepers as we invite them to come just a little closer. Each of you has your own team, and a few of them are stepping forward now to support you. Ask them to give you a sign that they are present—perhaps a physical sensation, warmth, tingling, or an image.

Now we ask the Record Keepers to help us clear and release any blocks to abundance that are ready to be released. This may include past-life blocks. I often like to begin with vows of poverty, because many lightworkers have taken spiritual vows in other lifetimes—as priests, nuns, monks, or ascetics—where we may have said, I will not take money for my spiritual gifts.

We ask that these vows be cleared and released, as they no longer serve you in this body, in this life, in this world.

We also ask for the clearing of any energy from this lifetime—childhood struggles, parental beliefs, ancestral patterns. Perhaps experiences of loss, unemployment, or feelings of unworthiness or abandonment by Source. We ask the Record Keepers to uplift any low-vibrational energy from your physical body and energy field.

Now we offer great thanks to the Record Keepers and ask them to fill us with the highest Akashic energy, light, and wisdom we can hold after this clearing.

And so it is.

We now gently close and lock the group Records for this session. When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. You may want to make a note of anything you experienced—images, guidance, sensations—because once we leave the Records, we sometimes forget.

Beautiful. Thank you, Lisa. I honestly feel like I could’ve stayed there forever. I didn’t want to come back.

Lisa Barnett: (laughs softly)

As you were guiding us, were you sharing one of the eight Galactic Prayers?

Lisa Barnett: Yes. What I shared was actually a combination of several Galactic prayers. There are Arcturian, Pleiadian, Syrian, Angelic, Orion, Lyran, and Andromedan prayers.

And how do I choose which prayer to articulate or invoke? I know this is part of a full program, so I realize I’m asking a level-two question here—but how does someone know which prayer to use?

Lisa Barnett: That’s a great question. I teach this inside the Akashic Self-Mastery Program, which is broken into two courses.

In the first course, you learn the Five-Step Wisdom Prayer System. I teach three of the most commonly used Galactic prayers, and we really work with them. We open the Records, ask for information, and I give you specific questions to ask your Record Keepers. You write down what you receive—what you see, feel, or notice—and then we close that prayer and move on to the next one.

We go through a full process. It usually takes more than an hour just to explore them, try them on, and feel into how they work. And what’s amazing is how much information people receive in just those first two hours. People remember past lives, see images, and receive really profound downloads.

Many people are more clairsentient or claircognizant, so the information isn’t always visual. Clairvoyance—actually seeing images—is more obvious, but fewer people have that strongly developed. Some people do see full “movies,” but that’s less common. Clairaudience often shows up as a quiet inner voice that sounds a little different from your usual internal dialogue.

For most people, there’s a process of learning to differentiate what’s coming through. That’s why we work through the full Five-Step system. There are alignment prayers, grounding prayers, and tools to help quiet the mind.

I also teach how to turn off what I call the analyzer—that egoic, overthinking part of the mind that never stops talking.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened Magazine

That’s the worst. My analyzer is strong.

Lisa Barnett: Most humans have very strong analyzers. So yes, I literally teach you how to turn it off. And when it finally gets quiet, it’s incredible—because all that mental chatter stops.

The first course alone is about twelve hours of teaching. It’s deep work. We practice the prayers, do exercises, and I teach you how to become more fully embodied—how to clear other people’s energy out of your field so you can actually hear your own soul and your Record Keepers.

Most of us are hearing other people’s voices and programming in our heads all the time, and we don’t even realize it because it’s been happening our whole lives.

Right—that programming just keeps echoing.

Lisa Barnett: Exactly.

Just so I’m using the right language—you’re talking about the Akashic Self-Mastery Program, right? And there are two levels?

Lisa Barnett: Yes, two levels. The full program runs for about two months and includes 24 hours of teaching, along with 8 hours of energy healing—group healings, Q&A, sharing, and support. All of that is really important when you’re learning a new tool and integrating this kind of work.

Why do you do this? After more than thirty years, why are you still investing in people in this way?

Lisa Barnett: I love it so much. It truly is my life. It’s my soul’s purpose. I know I’ve come back many times to teach and support humanity—I’ve been an oracle, part of the ancient mystery schools, and lived in ancient Egypt. Those lives weren’t necessarily about the Akashic Records specifically, but in this lifetime, that became my mission.

I made a contract with the Akashic Record Keepers to bring this work back to humanity at this moment in history. And honestly, it feels almost impossible for me to say no.

What about your family? I don’t know if you’re married, but your spouse, your kids—you’ve been doing this a long time. What’s their perception of your work?

Lisa Barnett: I’ve been married for thirty-five years—this New Year, actually. My family is very clear that this is my purpose, that I hold a higher vibration in service to humanity. They honor it and appreciate it.

My twins have taken my workshops. They used to come to live expos with me and actually man the booth. It was really sweet.

One time, my husband and I were in Australia, and I was speaking at a Mind, Body, Spirit Expo in Melbourne. He was running the booth and had me completely booked with readings.

They’ve always been very loving and supportive.

That’s beautiful. Every family is so different—some people fully get it, some support from a distance, and some think you’re totally crazy. My daughter is on this journey with me, too. As I learn things, I share them with her, and it’s really special.

I’m curious about your books. You’ve written four, and your most recent one is Akasha: Spiritual Experiences of Accessing the Infinite Intelligence of Our Souls, published by Sacred Stories. It’s part of the Common Sentience series. What makes this book different from a typical book on the Akashic Records? What’s unique about it?

Lisa Barnett: The Common Sentience series includes at least sixteen or seventeen spiritual books, and mine focuses on the Akashic Records. The structure is unique: I write Part One and Part Three, and Part Two is made up of real stories from people who have accessed the Akashic Records themselves.

We invited submissions, and about twenty people’s stories were selected for the book. What I love about that is it allows readers to experience the Akashic Records not just through my perspective or through the Record Keepers, but through many different people’s lived experiences—how they’ve used the Records and how it’s benefited their lives.

One story that really stands out to me is from a woman in Ireland who had been trying to sell her house for a long time. It wouldn’t sell, and the energy in the home was heavy and dark—it was actually making the family ill. They couldn’t stay there anymore.

She took one of my workshops and learned to read her own Records. Through that, she discovered there was deep ancestral trauma tied to the land—it had been in her family for hundreds of years. She did extensive ancestral clearing on the property, and once that energy shifted, the house sold.

In the conventional world, nothing made sense. She’d changed realtors multiple times and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t moving. But through the Akashic Records, she realized it wasn’t about the market—it was about unresolved ancestral energy holding the land in place.

And when that was cleared, everything changed.

So part one is really about educating people about what the Akashic Records are, part two is about people’s experiences, and part three is more practical—how to actually engage with the Records. Is that right?

Lisa Barnett: Exactly. In part three, I share my Five-Step Wisdom Prayer System—it’s actually included in the book. I also talk more about the Galactic Prayers, galactic and starseed worlds, and the support the Akashic Record Keepers can offer us in this lifetime.

And again, this brings us back to the benefit of understanding who you are as an infinite soul. It’s incredibly transformational. I remember one of the first times I saw a past life of myself as a teacher in an ancient mystery school. Seeing it—feeling it—knowing it energetically—it took all the doubt away. I felt that aspect of myself step fully into this body.

So often, when we access past-life wisdom, we’re able to embody those gifts in the present. And that’s a huge benefit.

You can go into your own Records and ask, Show me one—or five—lifetimes where I’ve already done what I want to do now, but I’m doubting myself.

When the Record Keepers first asked me to write a book, I thought, I can’t even spell. I have kids. Who am I to write a book? So I went into my Records and said, Show me past lives where I was an author—where I wrote with ease, where my work was published.

Writing with ease is one thing. Getting published is another. You can write a book and never see it published. So I asked to reclaim the energy, the gifts, and the talents from those lives—again and again. I even went into future timelines where I had already done this and brought that energy back.

And there’s a really fun story around my first book. When they told me to write it, I asked, How am I going to do this? They gave me two very specific steps. One of them was, Ask a friend of yours to edit it. I remember thinking, She’s never going to say yes—great, I’m off the hook.

So I called her and asked. And she said, It’s so weird you’re calling—I was just thinking about working on a book project. I used to be an editor, and I haven’t done one in over a year. I would love to help. I barely even knew her that well.

Then I joined a “get your book done” program—not because I cared about winning anything, but because I needed a deadline. I had spent fifteen years in advertising, and I was great with deadlines. So I set one, finished my proposal, and submitted it to a book contest along with about 350 other people.

I truly didn’t care about winning. I just wanted the proposal done.

And I won first place, which came with a book agent and a publishing deal.

That was entirely the Record Keepers. Not me. I did the work, I followed the steps, I listened—but the orchestration was theirs.

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened MagazineThat book became The Infinite Wisdom of the Akashic Records, which came out ten years ago now.

We’re here to do this work embodied. We can’t create a new Earth without being fully grounded in our bodies and doing the light work we came here to do—in physical form. And sometimes that means taking very practical steps: joining a program, meeting deadlines, finding an agent, putting the work out into the world.

That’s how the wisdom moves from the Akashic field into real life.

You also have your Akashic Self-Mastery Program launching soon. If someone just wants to get their feet wet and begin exploring this material, what would be a good first step?

Rev. Lisa Barnett - Awakened MagazineLisa Barnett: One of my favorite books is Your Soul Has a Plan: Awaken to Your Life Purpose Through the Akashic Records. Most people don’t realize that this life is actually your plan. It’s not random, and you’re not a victim of it—you wrote it.

That can be hard to hear at first, especially when life has been painful. But it’s also incredibly transformational. For example, some people choose to be born into abusive families because they have a large soul contract to help end abuse within their lineage and on the planet. Many lightworkers have stepped into those kinds of families for that reason.

When you begin to understand that you chose this path, even just by reading about it, something shifts. Your Soul Has a Plan includes a workbook-style element, energetic healing prayers the Record Keepers gave me, and simple processes to help you start integrating this information. Even if you’re not accessing your Records yet, you can still do the energy healing.

So Your Soul Has a Plan: Awaken to Your Life Purpose Through the Akashic Records is one of the best places to start. Akasha is also a wonderful entry point. Both are published by Sacred Stories and offer different yet complementary ways of understanding the Records.

I also offer healing programs on my website—pre-recorded emotional pain and trauma healing sessions. You can receive about ten hours of energetic healing, which is recorded into the Akashic field and held there for you. That can be a very gentle way to begin, especially if you’re not yet sure about accessing your own Records.

As the Record Keepers say, it is everyone’s birthright. Some people access their Records quickly, others need more time. That’s why I created the Akashic Self-Mastery Program as a two-month deep dive. It includes readings with certified Akasha consultants, four healing sessions, and twenty-four hours of live teaching with me.

Where’s the best place for people to connect with you—your website or social media?
