When we look at the world and see what is happening around us, we can become disheartened, inflexible, or apathetic. Many may feel a deep sadness or hopelessness seeing the world in chaos. Others may feel so strongly about their beliefs that they become inflexible when considering another’s point of view, even to the point of losing close relationships or taking another’s life. Some may feel apathetic because they don’t care or feel helpless to do anything to support positive change in the world.

An invitation

If you are feeling disheartened, inflexible, or apathetic, I invite you to consider how this impacts you, your health, your family, your friendships, your work environment, your community, your state, your country, and the world.

Now, take this a step further and consider how this may impact someone you feel is different from you or has different beliefs. Try to put yourself in their shoes for just a moment. If you can listen to others’ perspectives without reacting while considering where you and they are coming from, there can be a new awareness, a lightness that you both feel and your hearts may begin to open. Some common ground can be reached if you stick to the facts instead of letting your emotions take over.

How would the world change if we collaborated instead of fighting for rights?

Collaborating doesn’t mean giving up your voice; it means working together and coming up with a resolution that works for everyone, not just a few. Fighting has continued for centuries, and it’s not working and never will. We all have our own opinions; nothing will be resolved if we come from a place of feeling that we are right and they are wrong. It is essential to have our voices heard and, even more importantly, to know how we use our voices in the world. Fighting comes from fear; Collaboration comes from love. Choose love, and the world will awaken to a higher consciousness that includes everyone with love at its core.

Some people are unwilling to listen and consider another’s perspective. If this continues, the fighting will continue. I hope that in this lifetime, we will awaken and realize that we are all One and that what we do to one, we do to everyone. When this awakening happens, people will listen, consider different perspectives, come from a place of love instead of fear, and work together for the highest and best for all.

Disheartened

For those feeling disheartened, acknowledge your feelings and ask yourself how you can go from being disheartened to taking action that can positively affect the world while coming from a place of love. Change is possible, and your actions, no matter how small, can contribute to a more peaceful world.

Inflexible

We do not have to agree on everything; we can remain open to seeing where someone is coming from and be willing to work together in unity. If you feel inflexible, remember that your perspective matters as much as anyone else’s. When we listen from our hearts and get out of our heads, we are more willing to find commonalities, understanding that we all truly want the same things: an understanding that we are not alone, seen, heard, valued, and loved. This awareness can bridge the gap between the “us” and “them” mentality.

Apathetic

Feeling apathetic can be a form of protection. You may have once cared deeply about the state of the world but started to feel like nothing you did mattered. If you are coming from a place of love, it matters. You may not see an immediate impact in the world, but every act of love helps you and the world.

Leading from Love and Lighting the Way

Leading with our hearts means making decisions and taking actions based on love and compassion rather than fear or self-interest. This approach can help humanity and the world evolve to a higher consciousness. It starts with you. What will you choose? Do you want to see the world continue in chaos and fear or peace and love?

The world will be more peaceful when humanity realizes we are all One. We are all interconnected, and our actions and decisions impact everyone. No one, no gender, no race, no community, no country, no religion is better than another; we are all equal. If we choose to live from love instead of fear, we will experience a world of peace and equality for all.

Questions to consider

  1. Are you willing to take one step today that comes from love to live in the world you desire?
  2. Is there someone you are willing to reach out to who has a different perspective than yours and collaborate with instead of fighting?
  3. How do you want to see the world that you live in?
  4. Are you coming from love or fear when using your voice and actions to change the world?

Two powerful quotes for reflection

I encourage you to consider Wayne Dyer’s words of wisdom. In Wayne’s quote, ignorance simply means a lack of knowledge or information.

“The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” ~ Wayne Dyer

I leave you with one of the most profound quotes by a beautiful soul who understood and lived in higher consciousness. My hope is that we choose a higher consciousness that includes love, peace, unity, and equality for all.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
